Candlewood Suites Indianapolis Airport by IHG

This was one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed at. Elevator Broken, side door to the hotel did not lock, not hot water for showers, our room door was loose and hard to close, maintenance was grinding a room lock open at 11:30pm, used to have a pool but it has been broken for over 3 years according to the front desk. Definitely not worth the cost we paid.

We were given a key to room 210. It didn’t work. This was a good thing for the people who were already asleep in the room…. When we returned to the front desk, the gentleman (who was very nice btw) told us he gave us the wrong room number, but our room wasn’t ready. This was 11:00pm. Another couple in the lobby was waiting for their room to be cleaned by the day mgr., who was called in to fix all these errors. They were supposed to get a room with two queen beds but got one king. They had three people. We ended up getting a refund and going to another hotel. While I was at this one, I noticed the pool has a sign on it: “permanently closed”. Don’t waste your time with this run-down mismanaged property.

Just in my room: Sat tv inoperable, bedside clock broken, toilet tank leaks, h/c on bath sink plumbed backwards, bath fan inoperable, a/c had buzz when running, power on nightstand lamp did not work, bed seemed to have broken/loose frame, pool inoperable, grass lawn was foot long dandelion patch. Smokers smoking in building. Generally a run down undesirable hotel

When I arrived the elevator was out and I was told

Over all nice big room loved that they give you dishes in your room to use no pool was down for repairs free washers and dryers for guest was nice to have when traveling with kids over all good stay

This hotel was not good! First we get there and the elevator was not working so we had to walk 5 flights to room with all our luggage. Only 2 towels in room when checked and and wasn’t sure if I could get more. There was NO hot water the entire weekend! Me my sister and my daughter had to take cold showers. No Manager on site to make a decision or give us a discount or refund!

Hotel was very clean! We just had no hot water in our room. Front desk didn’t act like they knew what they were doing. Every time we called it was a different answer. Came up here for my daughter to get tests ran at Riley and couldn’t even give her a bath before we went, so her night routine was down the drain. Wouldn’t change us rooms (we had a two night stay) the housekeepers were the best employees.

We stayed at the Candlewood Suites Indianapolis Airport location from July 31 to August 5, 2024. It was one of the worst hotel stays we have ever had. There were blood stains and other yellow stains on the pillow cases and the bed sheet. There were black specs and food crumbs through the sheets and the comforter. There was dirt and debris on the floors. We went down to the front desk, who contacted the hospitality manager. The hospitality manager came up herself with a different set of bed sheets and confirmed the dirty state of the room. She changes the sheets herself (which showed a ripped and stained mattress cover underneath) and the replacement sheets and pillow cases had yellow stains on them, that we didn’t see until after she left. She took the comforter, stating she would likely need to wash it and bring it back. She stated that the previous management “left a lot of bills” and stated “the new team is working to get everything back in order.” We would find out that the old management was gone last December, so in 9 months they haven’t accomplished much. No pool, which listing says it has. Whole hotel is run down and broken down. No hot water. Dirty everywhere.

The staff was extremely kind. But that’s the only thing they have going. The side doors were out of use and they were not secured .. anyone could come in and out of them. Elevators out of service. Pool and hot tub out of service The room didn’t provide any of the amenities that the website said such as a hairdryer. You are suppose to get housekeeping every 7 days. I stayed there for 12 days and not once during that stay was housekeeping provided.

We showed up at 11:30pm at night to be told that the elevator was broken and the lowest floor available was the 5th floor and that there was no hot water either because the boiler was also broken. I\'m only giving it an "okay" rating because the front desk person canceled our reservation with no charge given the circumstances - the absolute right thing to do. BUT the hotel should have called to let us know the situation hours before that so that we could have already gotten a new hotel instead of scrambling to find one at that hour.

Found bed bug in my first room, staff reacted quickly and professionally to locate me in a new room. Second room had an old pair of socks left in one of the bathroom drawers that created a very strong nasty odor. One of my washroom towels had a red stain on it, I'm not too sure what the stain was from. Similar stains were found on the curtains. Throughout this all, I would like to mention that the staff was always friendly, helpful and accomodating.

check-in was smooth. went into room and had no toilet paper and the bathroom trash had not been dumped. found out later they only clean the rooms on Wednesday. due to it being a weekly rental option. stayed Saturday and Sunday night. floor in entry/kitchen area was also sticky. hot water took forever to get to the 5th floor I guess. lukewarm at best.

We didn’t even stay due to the conditions and location of this hotel. Very dirty, old, smells and the location was unsafe.

Room was not very clean, bed sheets and blankets were dirty and really worn out. We asked for clean blankets and were told there were no more blankets in the hotel. The refrigerator in the room sounded like a freight train and stank. There is nothing around the hotel apart from a liquor store. We walked along an expressway with no sidewalk to get to a waffle house to eat. It was close but not suited for pedestrians. Staff were friendly. I would not choose to stay here again.

Hate to leave a review like this because the staff was extremely friendly…however, the pictures are extremely deceiving. The hotel was in poor, run down condition. We never took our shoes off in the room unless we were sleeping. The carpet had several dark stains throughout, the smell was very musty with a lot of smoke smell too. The shower faucet wouldn’t turn to the shower head. The pull out couch had rust stains. There were no extra linens for the pull out couch. Half of the kitchen items were missing. Just an overall poor condition for the room. The staff was super friendly and was trying really hard.

This was for a family trip for an early flight out of IND. If you want a relaxing shower, don't stay here. The water took 10-15mins to warm up then it was pelting me so hard with a non-adjustable shower head, I had to get out without washing myself. My son couldn't even shower at all. The shower head was loud and vibrating, I thought it would fly out of the wall. The bathtub itself was dirty with hair and chipped paint and the towels were stained yellow. My duvet was dirty and stained along with stains on the carpet throughout the hotel. I would never stay at this location again. The good things? Spacious with a large closet and kitchen and it was extremely quiet considering it is near the interstates and the airport.

We did not stay at this property. Our first room we were assigned was not cleaned, towels in the bathroom on the floor, garbage everywhere. They checked us into a second room and it was very dirty. The bathtub was so so dirty. We ended up checking out and finding a new place to stay.

The first words we heard, after telling me they\'d need to charge $50 to my card in case we damaged property, was that the television service was "out" throughout the building. I was traveling with my wife and at night we enjoy watching television. It\'s what we do. Beyond the television, the snack center was empty. It\'s not that we\'re heavy snackers, but who knows, it could happen. Just not what we were expecting to find.

Rooms and hotel need major updates. None of the outlets in the room worked. There was no option to move to another room.

Very nice, clean and spacious room. I didn't have a pet but they have a nice dog space.

I room was nicely layed out. The tv remote barely worked. But worst part was the hvac system whould kick on every 30 min and sounded like a frieght train rattling the fan has issues or the mounts are loose. As i work maintenance for a living. The bath towls were small too barely would wrap around and touch on gf and shes small

Booked one room with 2 beds. Upon check-in those rooms not available. Gave us 2 rooms. My room AC didn't work. Moved me. AC didn't work. Moved again. AC okay. No television entire weekend due to DirectTV not working. My TV was smallest I've ever seen in a room anyway. Garbage can was full of previous occupants fast food and bag of grapes. Smelled bad too. On Sunday the water in the bathroom shutoff for 15 minutes. Desk staff knew nothing of any problems

Room was clean and fresh. Everything was as expected. I had an issue with the TVremote but worked around it.

The rooms were quiet and clean. Kitchenette was suitably stocked. Bathroom lacked extra toilet paper. The 24/7 Cupboard room for extra amenities was lacking in content. Not a great location for shopping or dining but quick airport access. No continental breakfast.

Amenities area not stocked....TV dud not work...no signal....A/C froze up literally....had to shut it off to unthaw...refrigerator waa extremely noisy all night....room seemed unkempt. Would not choose Candlewood again

The hotel was very good except the hall carpets had loose small items. These may have been from a recent guest moving in so it may not reflect badly on housekeeping but the carpet looked a little dirty. The room was clean and very nice and great considering the low price. There was a full kitchen and a nice desk for doing work. The bed was very comfortable.

We booked one room with 2 beds. The hotel didn’t have what we booked so they solved the problem by giving us 2 king rooms. This was a great solution.

My reservation was cancelled at 8:30 pm on my day of checking in as I was on my way to the hotel. After sending multiple messages about getting my refund I have yet to get a response from anyone there.

Staff was great

I paid for my room through hotels.com. Had a receipt. The hotel employee charged me not only the $100 for incidentals but also the cost of the room! When I told him I had already paid for the room, he insisted that it wasn’t possible to pay for a room through a third party! I attempted to resolve this by using the virtual chat on hotels.com. Horrible experience. Hotel phones were down and so the hotels.com agent couldn’t speak with the hotel clerk. Fortunately the GM of the hotel was called by the clerk. Another employee had processed my reservation incorrectly. The charge of the room and the $100 incidental were reversed. I understand things happen but the clerk was insisting he was right when he was clearly wrong. I will not be using this hotel or hotels.com anymore after this experience.

The staff at this hotel are top notch. Hotel is fine if a little dated. I felt safe walking around outside. Waffle house and Gils Tacos within a mile.

We booked our trip a month before our trip and after a 5 hour drive we were told they were overbooked. Not compensation just I’m sorry! I NEVER revived any text, call or email from the hotel or hotels.com. Did I mention there was a cheer competition going on and finding a new place was hell

The hotel overbooked and called me 2 hours before my check-in to tell me I no longer had a hotel room and there was nothing they could do except issue a refund.

Check in attendant was talking over me throughout entire interaction making asking questions difficult. Entire hallway to room was full of crumbs and we didn’t check in until 6:30pm. Room was okay but the cable didn’t work and we didn’t get the room we booked. I didn’t argue it with them as it was the same cost and I probably wouldn’t have gotten anywhere with the desk clerk talking over me.

Arrived approximately 11.15pm. I parked in the parking spot for those registering, and got out of the car. There was a man in front of the building whom I passed as I was walking in - he didn’t say anything to me but continued smoking. I saw the sign saying that doors locked after 11pm and to call the front desk. I picked up the phone and called - no answer. I was waiting for over 5 min for the joker outside to finish smoking so he could come in and check me in. Then proceeds to tell me that the electronic Keyes are sensitive. No joke! I tried over 10 times to swipe and I look the outside door before it registered. Then got to the room and had the same issue. Room was clean and comfortable. View of the parking lot and a field with trees in it. As I drive around the back of the building when I arrived - I passed the block enclosure the dumpster is located in. The doors for the enclosure were open and the dumpster was over flowing with trash bags all around the dumpster and piled up 2-3 bags high outside the enclosure in the parking spot closest to the dumpster. Won’t be staying again.

Very pleased with the room. The neighborhood was pretty noisy and the area was a little rough. The rate was reasonable. I would stay here again.

Place is a bit rundown. The area isn’t exactly great but it’s convenient. Beyond being rundown, it’s a bit dirty. Needs some love. If you stay here just know it’s cheap for a reason.

Great hotel clean conveniently close to its downtown area lots of amenities

It was pretty good for the money I paid. But no hot water, I suffered taking a shower last night. But I do like hot hot water (maybe it’s my issue) The room was clean, I would recommend to be updated, but I slept very well. The other thing there is no breakfast available. Maybe because I think all of the rooms are like little appartments.

It was okay, we didn't have enough towels for 2 people and when I called dwn for some I was told to bring dirtys. How can we trade towels if we don't have but 1 set? So you saying 1 shower then trade towels before the next person can shower! Then... we couldn't get a toothbrush, toilet paper, soap because the hotel didn't have any!!😕

Convenient for what we were doing. Very quiet. We had to go ask for coffee mugs and coffee. Didn't have drinking glasses in our room, had to go ask for some.

Water is over priced at $3 for 16oz no name brand bottle, at least according to the older overnight guy considering the name brand icedcyea was only $2...very suspect...But overall, everything else was kewl especially "Kat" at the front desk, awesome and nice to me the entire stay.

Deadbolt didnt work , no hot water for shower next day, shower rod falling off wall along with toilet seat wouldn't stay on toilet. No snacks or drinks to buy when u got there it was empty. Won't stay there again, Guy behind desk was very nice when we checked in..

I was terribly disappointed in cost. I ended up getting an extra room which was $30.00 per night less than the cost of Hotels.Com. go directly to thw hotel and don't waste extra money through a booking site. The room itself was clean but no amenities other than coffee. The grounds were poorly maintained.
