Not a good stay. Stayed in a separte building with a broken elevator. First room had a broken door that not even the desk clerk could open. No luggage rack or fridge. No ice machine in our building. Room never cleaned although we requested it. Wait ten, yes ten, hours for clean towels.

Check in was quick and easy with online confirmation. The hotel is a little dated, but looks to be updating. My room was clean, but did not have a fridge in the room and the light did not work in the desk lamp. The door was hard to shut which could have been loud to other guests. Staff was friendly and helpful with checking in and was able to recommend a dining option that delivered - and it was delicious! The fitness center has free weights, a treadmill and an elliptical - it was clean and available 24/7. I did not use the pool - not sure if it was open yet - as it is outside. Breakfast is pretty traditional for a hotel.

My trip was for cancer treatment. My room was booked for one night 16-17th October and i find out upon arrival that parking in their "owned" parking lot is $10.00 per day. (Which my card got charged twice for even after checking out!) Please do not stay here because it is a ripoff from the beginning. It ended up costing me more than i could afford. There were no washcloths in the bathroom and when i tried calling the front desk, multiple times,nobody picked up. So, my husband went downstairs to the desk to see about some washcloths and the clerk was on her personal cellphone (on speaker) and waited on him, giving him one hand towel instead of a washcloth. Unbelievable! Never again!

Accross the way from a boat harbor, fortunately we had a room facing this side, the back side faces the freeway. We were in bldg. #2 which has no ice makers or other amenities. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a $10 fee for parking. Room was dated yet large and clean

The hotel was old, the door was hard to open. The staff didn’t keep up with the pool towels. The toilet was rickety and didn’t want to work right. Not the worst I e stayed in but definitely not the best by a long shot.

CONS: The facility is old and in need of an updating. Our bed was completely sunk in on one side so we were rolling into each other all night long. They key card to our room kept failing and took five or six tries to open the door each time we used it. Twice we had to have our spare keycard reassigned but it, too failed again so we gave up. It became a joke between us about the door. The hallways were dirty, but other common areas seemed clean. They charge you $10 per night for parking, which is absurd considering they have their own lot. The WiFi is slow and went out often, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you need to rely on the internet for any kind of business purposes. Pros: The location is perfect and safe and you’re right on a little harbor with water. Easy access to the beaches and downtown.

The room was dusty , as you could see dust one the back of everything. The Ac was fine but we had to take our own trash out, requested housekeeping but they never came to our room. The sink stopper didn’t work and we had to take our own towels down to get new ones. The bedding was hard and there were several pieces of hair found in the bed and shower.

Great location by the water but old and dirty facilities. Water damage spots ceiling looks to have been painted over. Bed was dirty with stains and old makeup. Carpet was burned from previous guest. Felt very dirty. One positive was that it was pet friendly but all the grass around the hotel was more grass burrs and stickers so we spent 20-30 minutes picking them out of our dogs feet.

My sheets had poop on them and it soaked into the mattress pad! When I told the front desk, they just gave me new sheets to change it myself. What kind of a hotel does not change the sheets between guests? Gross

The hotel was not clean. The hallway had not seen a vacuum in a long time. The carpet had many stains. Our room had not been dusted. There were hairs in the shower. Some repairs had been made, but they were evident by poor clean up jobs. We arrived after dark and left before sunrise. I would not want to stay here longer than one night or with a family with children who needed to take their shoes off.

We chose this location because it was a good middle ground between Downtown Charleston and Folly Beach. Unfortunately the rooms were all filled with MOLD. I requested a room change after seeing the entire ceiling covered in mold, they put me in a different room.. same issue. The third room looked like they scraped the mold off the ceiling and tried to paint over it. Initially I was going to deal with it, then I opened the closet and realized they completely missed that ceiling and it was the worst of all the rooms I'd seen yet. I requested they move me to the 'newer' building in hopes it was recently updated and less of a black mold issue, they said they would need to charge me extra for that part of the hotel. I eventually got them to understand that it's not my issue the other building was a health hazard. Unfortunately... even the newer building also had mold. So if you can afford a little extra $ for literally any other hotel, I would avoid La Quinta. (PS: there was also an issue with a lot of police and homeland security at the front of the hotel, not sure what was going on but we tried to stay clear of whatever was happening)

Yapping dogs next door. Filthy hallway. Immediately hit with allergies upon entering room. Found out every room in the hotel is “pet friendly” so room was full of dander among other microscopic things. Felt itchy while trying to sleep. Toilet would barely flush. Shower to forever to drain. Wifi was only 4meg down and 3 up. In-usable.

We were placed in a second building overlooking the freeway. There were two big bags full of cement in the corridor the whole time we were there. Things in the room were rusty. It was not walkable to downtown Charleston. Only one restaurant in the area.

I booked a room with 2 double beds and they gave me a room with one bed. The bed was hard, the ac didn't work properly and the carpet always felt wet. The lobby is the nicest place in the hotel.

The location of the property was at the marina, which was nice. The whole hotel needs major updates! Repainting, new fixtures, shower curtains, literally everything. The ac soaked the floor in our room.

Front desk staff was very friendly. Room clean though the door was sticky and had to hard close to get latch engage. TV remote did not initially control volume but maintenance fixed it within minutes of be notifying front desk. We were on the back side of building which is within feet of a highway, so expect traffic noise. Location is beautiful and adjacent to a marina.

Room and elevator had a funny smell. The door to our room stuck and was hard to open. Nothing was "bad" and there were no visable bugs, stains, etc. It just wasn't great. The bed was fine but the pillows were super flat and uncomfortable.

My stay at this property was good. The hotel is an older property however, was nicely renovated. I was disappointed there were no ice machines on my floor, and it wasn't convenient to access ice. It was in the main building, which meant I had to leave the building I was in and walk next door. I didn't find that to be safe at night.

I rarely send this kind of feedback, but I felt compelled to do so because our stay at this hotel was truly disappointing. - One of the ladies at the front desk was extremely rude, loud, and aggressive for no reason. - Our room was never cleaned during our stay, even though we requested it. - Towels were not replaced—we had to chase down housekeeping to get fresh ones. - The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all during our stay. - There was no way to contact the front desk from the room. The phone was either disconnected, constantly busy, or we were immediately placed on hold. - Customer service over the phone was unhelpful and said they couldn’t do anything since they only handle bookings. The most upsetting moment happened on the night of April 2nd. We approached the front desk to buy a food item and greeted the woman on the night shift. She ignored us. We asked for the price—no response. When we politely asked her name twice, she suddenly yelled, “If you ask me one more question, I will call the cops.” She eventually scanned the item, we paid, and left feeling deeply upset and disrespected. We understand people can have bad days, but we came on vacation to relax—not to be treated with hostility and indifference. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below any reasonable standard of hospitality.

Not a good experience. Hotel run down and dirty. Employees not helpful. Noisy room with constant sound of moving furniture overhead for 2 days straight. Tried to call front desk but never an answer. Needed extra towels but front desk had none and neither did housekeeping. Mattress had a bow in it and hair dryer nearly caught fire

Last minute weekend trip to Charleston and we decided to book this budget friendly beauty. Really glad we did. Staff were super friendly, hotel is centrally located and QUIET, right on the water. Yes, the building is old but the bed was comfy, showers were hot, towels were lovely and fluffy, parking was plentiful and free and the hotel is dog friendly.

We were happy to be in a quiet area by the marina. Our room was on the fourth floor and we had a view of the water Marsh land. It was such a nice spot. However, the breakfast was not very tasty and the eggs were too salty so we passed on breakfast. It was conveniently close to Charleston. Although not walkable to there we had to drive.

This was a couples weekend getaway. The check in was great, the front desk clerk was friendly and worked quickly though my check-in. The hotel was clean, older with some updates that are obviously needed but we would stay here again. Beds were comfortable and there was a little traffic noise but this didnt last all night. We didnt use the pool and I only got coffee the next morning but the breakfast looked good. At check out the clerk was setting the housekeeping cards and never really acknowledged me, when he finished with the housekeeping staff, he looked up at me and asked if I was checking out and took my card and turned away. I would usually get a copy of my invoice, but I felt I would disturb him, so I just verified on my CC bill.

Very convenient location ! Room was clean, water is VERY hot, breakfast was average. The hot water was great, but may be an issue with small kids. Breakfast ends at 9am , a little early for a vacation. Saw families with small children in their PJ's rushing to make it. in time. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would have liked cleaning at some point in our 4 days stay, not necessarily laundry but trash and towels would have been nice.

We have stayed here on many occasions. Always good..except this time. Halfway carpets dirty. Hallways warm and an odor of dankness. 2 person room.. one washcloth.. had to have keys reprogrammed 3 times. VERY limited breakfast. White bread. No English muffins, no bagels, no raisin toast... not even a basic breakfast.
