I don't even know where to begin. 1 out of 2 elevators sounded like it was on its last leg, AC unit sounded like it was dying, walls are so thin I could here the people in the next room peeing and talking. Shower head loose, when first turned on sprayed from joint all over, when hand tightened the water pressure was a mist (no option to adjust), couldn't get all the shampoo out because of this. Behind the main door was a piece of food that has probably been overlooked a few times. walls patched but not painted, bed has a permanent body indent in it making it impossiple to sleep anywhere except the middle indent. the pillows were barely stuffed with anything and the front desk was quick to tell you upon checking in that there's not any extras, but with the three stacked they were still flat. 4 channels on the TV is all you get. 2 inch gap under the door leading to the hallway made it easy to hear everything that went on our there, and at all times.

The hotel was fine but they were not able to give me the room I booked with two beds and instead gave me a king with a pull out couch that was not very comfortable. We made it work though. Pool was not appealing.

The staff was friendly, the breakfast was adequate Unfortunately, we could not use the pool, it was green with algae, a few chairs, no tables, and no umbrellas with the heat index between 93 and 96. I did ask for an umbrella they said it blew away. There was one day I could not get anyone to answer at the front desk in the afternoon after repeated calls

Do not stay here! The desk was overwhelmed and each person returned after getting to their rooms with issues. We were not given sheets for the sofa bed. We had to seek them out. The shuttle bus driver for the airport shuttle got us sheets and ONE pillow to share with the three of us. The pillow case was wrinkled mess and I suspect it was taken out of a dirty clothes bin. The breakfast was completely amazing- however the room is so tiny that guests were lined up. The carpets were so filthy that I threw away my socks, mildew in the bathroom showers and no toilet paper. There was noise ALL NIGHT LONG. The cleaning staff carts in the morning made exiting completely I Possible with a suitcase in tow and do not expect any help whatsoever. The pool- if that is what they call it- is behind the building in a small cement slab. There is limited access to it and it is nestled inside the back loop of traffic and right next to a dumpster. The water was murky and green and completely disgusting. I’m so upset at the cost of the room in comparison to the conditions- Stay away!!!!! It’s awful here and they will not assist. A woman checked in to her room that was to have two beds and was told if she wanted two she would pay the difference. She showed the clerk her online booking and they told her that “third party sites” are cheaper but make mistakes and ultimately the hotel decides which room you are assigned. I was assigned the room that the previous guest discarded.

I booked this hotel bc on the website FREE AIRPORT SHUTTLE was advertised. My parents are in their 70s, and they needed a ride to the airport in the middle of the night, so a free shuttle sounded perfect!!! However, when we checked in, the front desk clerk informed us that the shuttle bus was under repair. My parents ended up having to call a taxi service that charged them $50 for a 10 minute ride to the airport! Uber and Lyft never responded to the ride. I feel since the hotel advertised a free shuttle, they should have paid for the cab service. Never trust what you read on a website! Call the hotel to confirm what they are advertising!!!!! I will never book at a Wyngate again.

Unfortunately a very poor experience here. The room was filthy and the bed was very uncomfortable. The carpet and bathroom were extremely dirty. I was booked for three nights but only stayed one because of the state of the room. The hotel refused any sort of refund even though the room was unacceptable. I ended up booking another hotel for my last 2 nights in town.

The AC unit was extremely loud, making it difficult to relax. The shower door also needs to be replaced. I was charged a Colosseum fee even though there was no event taking place, which felt unnecessary—especially since I stayed at a hotel across the street previously and wasn’t charged anything similar. I experienced some challenges during my recent stay at the hotel. The room I was assigned to was quite noisy, as it was located next to the exit door for the hallway, resulting in frequent disturbances, especially during late night and early morning hours. The staff at the Wingate were amazing. They went above & beyond to make sure that our stay was enjoyable. The hotel is a little older, but it was clean and very conveniently located to the sights in Charleston.

We asked for room service and they never showed up. Trash overflowing and needed new towels and shampoo . Place smelled like weed from the workers and carpet dirty and only one elevator working.. and it sounded like it was going to fall apart at every stop

I checked in for July 4th holiday. The front desk clerk assigned us a room, but it was dirty and had not been cleaned. It happened a second time. Finally the third room they gave us was clean. Then on top of that, they charged my card twice and it took 5 days to get the credit back. After the second night there, I found out that they had messed up my reservation for 3 nights and changed it to 1 night. So it looked like we were supposed to have already checked out. It was a mess to deal with. I was very disappointed in the service there.

The property is located less than 2 miles from the airport. They have a shuttle that runs to and from the airport. It is located less than a mile from a shopping center. A gas station is very close. There are a few dining options nearby but a car provides better options. Uber pickups are common and frequent. The room was comfortable, nice and quiet. It is time for a carpet refresh and some cosmetic touch up. Breakfast was good, but the space is somewhat limited if you are a late riser. The staff was super nice, friendly and helpful.

The one night was ok. It’s close to the highway and outlets, but sits behind a gas station and Waffle House, and it’s a shady looking area right there. The room appeared clean, the bathroom was outdated and the crevices were rusted. The next morning while my fiancé was waiting at the front door in the car for my mom, and I’m not kidding, a prostitute jumps into the back of the car thinking it was her Uber!! She was actually a he. Then we observe another transvestite prostitute being walked to his/her cab by her date. There was also a tweaker sitting outside the lobby. So yea, it’s probably a hotel that people use for reasons other than a visit! Not for a family.

The location is great, assuming you are visiting areas other than just the historic area. While the area right around the hotel is a bit worn looking, we felt safe. The hotel itself was clean and you can tell the employees try to make for a great experience.

The hotel was nice but in need of updating but it was clean and that is a big plus. Breakfast was very good with a lot of options. It was clean and well maintained. There were plenty of seats in the lobby to eat at. The room was quiet and while there is no daily housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful and provided what you asked for.

Only had local channels on the tv . The shower door had no guides at the bottom and the door fell off. No trash can in the room. At 9:30 there were no more grits no biscuits and no waffle batter. The attendant was in the little room on her phone not doing her job . Won’t be back !!!
