Great location and walkable to excellent dining and shops. Gritty's has awesome beers on tap and live music from local artists. The indoor pool and laundry facilities on site was a nice perk.

We had a very nice stay. Comfortable beds (meaning queen beds were not firm) which is important to me. The hot tub had no jets which was a bit disappointing. The staff were very nice and very good!

Great location - couldn't ask for better! Room was comfortable and had a great water view. Only option to park is $40 valet service, however, which was a bit of a surprise. We also couldn't access the pool (one of our main reasons for choosing this hotel over others) due to it being deep cleaned which was a shame. Wish they would let folks know in advance or offer a % off of total cost due to amenities not being available. Staff were quite nice and would overall recommend though.

The hotel was very close to a variety of dining and activity options. We parked the car which was only valet and didn't use it until our checkout. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast, and they had nice options to choose from. We did try to use the hot tub but the jets were not working.

Wonderful checkin with Caroline. Room was very clean and comfortable. Went swimming twice, used the workout center. Both were tiny but it was more cute than inconvenient.

Maggie P. was pleasantly helpful at the front desk. The hotel was very conveniently situated in Old Port walking area for restaurants, shops, and near the piers. The breakfast was ok, I wouldn't do it for multiple days though, there are many breakfast options to try around in walking distance, we did the add on cooked to order option. The room was very spacious, we had 2 queen beds and a sitting area. The pool, gym, and hot tub were basic, we toured it, but didn't utilize them. We had a qiuet night, barely heard other guest in the halls or side by side. The location was key. I would stay there again. Valet parking was expensive, but very convenient. We didn't want to deal with self parking in an area we were unfamiliar with. In and our privilege is nice if you have places to drive to, but once again that particular area is so walkable.

We loved the pool and hot tub. I appreciate the fridge, keurig, and night light. Breakfast was good. You’ll pay $40 for valet parking (only parking they have) and breakfast is extra. Would stay here again.

A nice hotel by the harbor, beds are comfortable, and the valet parking was convenient. I only have a couple upsets, the mattress protector had hair in it, I’m not sure if those are changed each guest, but they should be, bed should also be sanitized and vacuumed down each guest. The wash cloths are doused in bleach, you can smell it while washing your face, it left a chemical irritation on my skin. (I’d bring my own washcloth) I would stay here again if the housekeeping did a better job with cleaning the beds. Which is the main reason for needing a hotel.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The room was very clean, and the entire property was well-maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Check-in and check-out were super easy and hassle-free. I really appreciated how smooth everything was from start to finish. I’d absolutely love to stay here again!

Ok overall. The carpet is dirty in the elevator and in the room. Hair on sheets and in shower. The second dsy we left our room after 10 and it wss not cleaned. When we called the front desk and they had it cleaned only 1 bed was made. Seems like this hotel is in need of a renovation. No slippers or bathrobe. Shower had extremely low pressure. Front desk baird from friendly to cold personnel. Will not stay here again but it was a decent price.

Nice Hotel at Super Location! Proximity to the Portland waterfront figured heavily in choosing the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront (long name, that!) for our recent three-night stay. And it worked very well for us. You are right on Portland Harbor. When I opened the curtains the first morning, a cruise ship looked like it was about to sail right into our room! The hotel itself was clean and attractive. There are many restaurants just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. We had only one meal (breakfast) at the hotel, and it was excellent. The bar area was pleasant and not crazy or noisy. Not a biggie, but our room was not cleaned anytime during our stay. It seems that if you have your ‘Later’ tag on the door in the morning, that’s it, you don’t get a second chance, although I’m sure we could have requested a cleaning. Overall, the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront did the trick for us!

Carpets are aging and the Hotel tends to keep it clean but it is showing its age. The location was perfect for downtown activities. Staff are very warm, welcoming and know the etiquette on visitors.

Our experience was very mediocre for the price we paid for the room. -- Uncomfortable bedding, very scratchy. Outdated room and lighting. -- Touchy shower settings, frequently alternates between very hot and cold -- Ordered room service and the person who came to the room literally ran in and out, in such a hurry they forgot some of our food. -- Valet parking for $40/day which adds to cost. Would be more affordable to stay further away and pay for daily parking in the area -- No smart TV, no TV guide available. Have to scroll to a certain channel and wait like 5 min for it to cycle through. Would need to bring your own HDMI cable. Best Feature -- Very close to all the restaurants and shops, convenient. Personally would not stay here again or recommend to anyone unless location if really important to you.

Location was perfect as it was very easily walkable to everything we wanted to see/do and both restaurants where we had dinner reservations. Front desk staff was friendly and valet service was very quick whenever we needed our car. Room was comfortable but bathrooms could use updating. The water pressure in the shower was low and water never really got more than lukewarm.

I expected a lot more for $700 per night. The walls had marks all over them. Section of wallpaper were falling off tile in the bathrooms. Grout was missing .Low water pressure in both showers Furniture had stains on them. Carpet had stains on them and tables and countertops had marks on them and a little microwave a little refrigerator

I was awakened at 540 am by garbage trucks lifting and dropping large dumpsters about 50 yards from my window in the adjacent property. It went n for 10 minutes, and it left me unable to get back to dleep. Although the hotel probably has no control over this, the main purpose of my stay was to be able to sleep before an appointment in the morning, and since this apparently happens every week, I rank this hotel as poor because you can’t sleep there without being jarred awake on a Friday nor morning.

Staff did not take to any conversation regarding missed steps regarding lack of cleaning service in the room and lack of clean towels. Staff suggested things I could have done to cause a lack of hospitality services such as cleaning services. Quality of services received were poor. Lobby furnishing was dirty with visible food spots to include red drippings on arms of chairs. I was told I did not receive maid service because the housekeeping manager was "MIA" all day. Given a handicap room by mistake and I was told "whoever" booked the room requested a handicapped accessible room when I booked the room myself. There was an excess for every mishap that never received an apology for any inconvenience experienced. I will no longer consider becoming a Hilton Rewards member as suggested when I booked the room because they offered superior service beyond Marriott\'s capability. Such an industry insult due to the poor experience of myself and 2 other guest in my party. Water front property was a mis-interpretation as I was told to stand diagonal at the window. I was informed it was fruitless to complain so instead I will stay away from Hilton and advise others to do the same especially as we plan our next NEA, PGCEA, and MD conventions.

Margaret Poisson, service manager consistently checked to ensure our stay was enjoyable . The valet team extremely efficient & very attentive, especially Aime, and I didnt see the name tag of the other very concerned valet (young man, red hair, beard, smaller stature)who checked our tire...just outstanding. The dining room staff impeccable. The breakfast chef's attention to detail was top tier. Amber one of the servers was a treasure, a true standout as well as Sylvia in dining. All the staff were very prompt, courteous, professional, and informative. It was a stellar experience. It was our first visit to the Waterfront Portland OldPort, Maine property. My husband and I were extremely pleased. I definitely see us returning. Thank you!

Staff was incredibly rude in a new yet poorly built building. Stairs are inconvenient and the door at the end of them, the fire escape door- was jammed. Lets talk about that staff. Every single person that worked there had some kind of chip on their shoulder from the very beginning. As if being a "guest" at their hotel is a complete inconvenience for each one of them. I told them at about 11pm the floor smelled like cigarette smoke. Then, they called my room at 1230 am to tell me about a noise complaint, while we were all sleeping. Why on earth would they call my room to tell us about a noise complaint? Am I management or security? What the actual hell. $320 to be harassed all evening/night long. What a freak show.

Nice hotel right in the heart of the waterfront action. Walkable to shops, dining, ferry, etc. Valet parking is the only parking available but it is fast and you don’t need your car for this area so it’s not inconvenient.

We chose this Hilton Garden Inn because of its proximity to the Fore restaurant. It’s right behind the hotel and above the Standard Bakery. It’s also right next to the pier, shopping and downtown ambiance. Best location. Very welcoming staff as well!

Excellent location. Close to many restaurants and shops. Right across from harbor. Little pricey for time of year. Elevator was way too slow and made some crazy sounds. Coffee was empty in the morning when I went down. They charged my Jeep for me when they valeted it. That was nice!

Clean rooms with fridge and micro. Can’t beat the location. Shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Right on the water and across from the piers. Nice breakfast and bar. Dog friendly.

Stayed one night. Location convenient, can walk to downtown shopping and events. Area is safe and quiet. Valet parking on site available. Hotel restaurant closes on the early side (9:30pm) so did not make it there in time. Staff friendly and helpful. One room down the hall had brought their dog, which they left unattended for at least an hour during the day - the dog kept barking nonstop; I called the front desk and the staff worked on locating the dog owner. Thankfully no dog barking occurred overnight. The pool and gym were on small side but were clean and enjoyable.

A fine hotel to explore Portland; in walking distance of about everything. It's a new building, but they made an effort to decorate it with a nautical theme. The a-la-carte breakfast however it not the best - fortunately there are several other options close by.

It was amazing. Free cookies and bottled water in lobby. Breakfast was excellent. Was able to walk everywhere we wanted to and got a great lobster meal as well. Valet parking was so worth it as well
