This hotel is clean and has some nice amenities. The staff are nice and friendly .We enjoyed the pool table and fun games in the lobby. The bar was good as well…a little expensive but what do you expect at a hotel bar? We just ended up walking to the bars down the street. One of the two negatives I had was the noise! The walls are thin and you can hear everything. We could hear people walking around not only in the halls but in the rooms above us. Not something I’m used to at a hotel. Also they were doing some kind of remodeling and there were workers all over the place replacing trim or painting and there were tools and material’s everywhere.

I loved everything about my stay. The only issue was with parking…either pay 40$ a night for valet or park on the street with a meter constantly running. Not super helpful. but other than that, a great place to stay

Pros: location is great. Bartender in the lounge is fantastic. Check in and out was relatively quick. Cons: “water view” rooms are noisy due to busy street. Rooms in general are noisy (can hear toilet flushing two/three rooms down). Vallet parking only.

Hotel was awesome and the harbor view was excellent. Only issue was the steep valet parking cost and the fact that they dont have any self parking options. The fitness center was also under repair but other than that great hotel.

The first room smelled awful, like a dog had pooped somewhere and it didn’t get cleaned. We asked to change rooms. The second room had a strange pink substance on the coffee station counter. There was a sticky goo next to phone. The bathroom counter had smudges on it. The door for the room had greasy fingerprints and a coffee stain down it. We were told that there was no housekeeping staff on, so we cleaned our own room. We had to go back to the front desk to get towels and soap. The plastic panel that covers the door lock sensor kept falling off. I was told that management would reach out to me. I never heard from anyone.

One of the best hotel stays of my life. Had been tent camping across NE for the last 7 days and we rolled in with our toddler desperately needing some showers and real beds. Staff made our stay. Great front desk and valet interactions. Room was awesome with view of the water and spotlessly clean. Thank you!

The room was not the cleanest. Toothpaste stains from prior guest on sink, mirror and backsplash. This is definitely a property below usual Marriott. I got what I expected in price.

We had a room with 2 queen beds, and although the room was spotless and very nice, it was quite small - with barely enough space to walk between the bed and very tiny sitting space. Other problem was that there was no privacy between the shower/sink area and the rest of the room - no door and even a full-length mirror perfect placed to put it in full view of the rest of the room. An inconvenience because I was travelling with my two sons.

Very poor soundproofing in spite of this being a newer hotel. You hear every toilet flush in adjacent rooms, every hallway sound, and every street sound if your room is facing Commercial Street. But if you don't mind the noise, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, especially for the price.

Rooms we a little weird. Shower and bedroom are pretty much the same room. Not sure who designed that. Room was very clean. Room was loud. Doors and toilet are very loud. Overall I was happy but would tweak rooms a little.

For a brand new building, when I was in our bathroom and could hear the person above me using their toilet (multiple times), that’s pretty crazy! The sound proofing clearly was overlooked… no fan in the bathroom made it very loud & echoey.. and could hear people every time they walked down the hall or anywhere above us! The hotel itself and the staff were great, but we were very surprised by how noisy it was! The bed was super comfy though!!

Perfect for our needs for our vacation. Very close to old town and plenty of restaurants. Some restaurants walkable--weather dependent. Our bartender Chris was a gem and provided his own curated list of places to see, where to eat, and breweires. It was an invaluable resource! Food for purchase options were convenient for breakfast. Would love to stay here again

Chris the bartender was a highlight. The entire staff was great - the front desk was friendly and helpful. The valets were friendly and cool. Chris was full of tips on local spots so basically a wealth of knowledge. I love Portland and now I love this hotel in Portland.

The hotel itself is nicely decorated and well maintained, and the rooms are large, with comfy beds. Unfortunately, most of the front desk staff was either indifferent or borderline rude, and not especially helpful. In our room, everything was fine the first night, but on the second night half the bathroom lights stopped working, and we barely got warm water in the shower. Trying to get ready for a wedding that night wasn't easy. We just expected more from Aloft, with pretty much our entire group a little disappointed.

Overall a very nice stay. We arrived 20 minutes before check in and the front desk was incredibly rude and just told us our room wasn’t ready and they’d text us when it was. We went to grab snacks and never heard back. So we stayed out and called back once we were ready after dinner. Once we got checked in everything was great. Very modern rooms. Valet guys were wonderful.

Overall a good place to stay. Bartender Christopher) was great with a list of places to eat. He gave us more info than whomever was at the desk. More food options at the bar would be nice. Asked for more coffee, tea and cups at the front desk. Nothing ever came. When I asked again I was told they ran out of everything. Seriously!!!! Didn't even get a call that they were out. Was told when I went back down to ask.

Very limited food options, view great comfortable bed great, many diverse food options in area. Only parking option valet 40 a day too expensive. For this reason I would suggest you look elsewhere in area for lodging. Very clean hotel. Lots of homeless in area be careful.

The property is engaged in false advertising. The property description obscures the fact that there is no restaurant and no proper breakfast on the premises. Having coffee only during the early morning hours instead of the entire day, like many other hotels, is a big minus. Definitely not recommended!

The Aloft hotels in Portland, Maine is a very modern stay. This residence has a lot of fun designs in it's living space, as well as unique amenities like an Xbox game room and extensive gym. I was a little surprised by the lack of a free breakfast (only coffee is on the house) and valet parking being the only option outside of street parking. Otherwise, it was a fine stay in a modern room.
