Bathroom was filthy! Tub not clean so we didn’t use the shower and the floor was not swept in both the room and bathroom. White lamp shade was stained and something splattered on a wall. One of the bed covers was stained with what looked like a blood stain. Just dirty overall! Also note I included a picture of their fitness center, yeah it’s the empty room with mirrors.

It was advertised pet friendly but upon checking in they said they don’t let pets stay anymore. Had to go to Wyndham microtel and not get your discount.

Clean and comfortable room, nice fluffy pillows. Not thrilled that no breakfast was available, and there was no elevator (room was on the 2nd floor near the stairs, so it wasn't too bad)

It was a place to stay for the night which is what I needed but I would not stay here again. Only the front entrance to the hotel works, all other doors were broken. Property was not well maintained at all. Also even though I confirmed with the clerk that they would serve breakfast, as he said “at 6am sharp” I checked at 6:30, 7:15 and 7:45 and not so much as a pot of fresh coffee was available. One of the reasons why I booked here is because they included breakfast and I wanted to get an early start on my day. I don’t like being lied to, if you’re not going to serve breakfast just tell your guests that you are not. Don’t use it as selling point to book rooms. Many many other options in this area that are far better at this price point. I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel advertises they accept pets. Upon arriving, the clerk checked us in and saw we had two small pets. I said it was fine. The second night, there was a new clerk, and this clerk stopped us rather rudely and asked if we checked in- we said yes yesterday. He said the hotel didn't take pets when in fact it was clearly stated on Travelocity. We told him that's what Travelocity states. He then said he would call the manager. At this point we weren't going to check out because we were already unpacked. We didn't hear back from him. For the future , to anyone traveling with pets, this hotel may not accept them even though their policy on Travelocity says the hotel does. They are false advertising.

Easy access from major highway. Close to VA hospital, also close to food, shopping and minor league baseball. Easy secure parking and well lit. As with all facilities, there is room for improvement in certain areas. But reasonably priced. Stay there three times.

This hotel is not ADA compliant. It has three floors and no elevator. Being a senior citizen. I had to haul my luggage up three stories of steps. They supposedly have breakfast included, which is not true. the picture shows what appears to be a decent breakfast when in truth the so-called breakfast there’s nothing more than a muffin and juice. On the positive side the room was decent and has been remodeled and refurbished I would say within the last few years. It is also very convenient off the Frankstown exit of I 99.

Our bathroom wasn’t very clean, especially the bathtub. But what really bothered me was the lovely cockroach I found. I understand that this can happen but it’s disgusting. We left immediately after very quickly grabbing our things.

I stayed here just passing through to break up my travel. I stayed here twice, on my way up to my destination and on my way back home. I stayed in a different room each time . Both room's bathrooms were not clean. There were pubic hairs on the sink and the toilets weren't clean. When I stepped into the shower in the second room the tub's floor was very slippery. Maybe it's fine for a place to stop at for sleep only if you can get a discounted price. Otherwise I could not recommend it based on cleanliness.

I was a bit disappointed because the air conditioner was covered in dirt and dust, and it was causing me to cough all night long by the debris coming from the air conditioner into the air. The rugs were dirty my feet were black from just walking on the rug. The bathtub was stained from the black from peoples feet because the carpets were dirty. Their continental breakfast consisted of a muffin and a bottle of orange juice in a brown paper bag and you had to ask for that at the front desk. The beds were comfortable the sheets were clean, the towels were clean and very soft but other than that, I was not too impressed with this hotel. And I will not be returning to that hotel again.

Will never stay there again. Got in around 1130-1145 pm. By time we got settled in bed and in the room was almost like 130. By 3:07 getting women up to being bit. Turned lights on bed bugs all in the bed. Went to get service desk. Took 2 out to her . Attendant was great. Management not so much. Refused to give refunds and said it was fleas. Now mind you I have picture of the bugs. Terrible all around. And hotel will not take accountability for their rooms and how terrible the issue is

Room smelled musty and like body odor. Microwave was dirty and food splattered inside. Knob on bathroom sink was extremely hard to pull to get water on. Bathtub was stained and should be replaced. The room definitely needs an upgrade. We overheard a woman checking out who said that the motel was the dirtiest place she has ever stayed at. We’ve seen worse places but was very disappointed with our lodging. Unfortunately with the Penn State football game going on there were slim pickings on rooms in our price range. Only positive thing I can say is the staff was nice. Would not recommend others to stay there.

The bath/shower base was damaged, and the repair job that had been done was terrible, quite dangerous. The tv remote did not work, no replacement offered. And no breakfast in the morning, even though it is advertised.

First room 207 had a flickering bathroom light and a urine smell, and the tv did not work, Clerk said he couldn't do anything about it. My husband suggested he relocate us which he did to room 209. There was a dried booger on the bathroom sink which I cleaned up while gagging. Room okay but neighbors in room 211 were banging around, then turned on TV at 1:30 am until 3:30 am at a LOUD volume - sounded like banging drums, or taps. I got two hours of sleep max. Walls are thin, lobby keeks from bad air freshener that does not mask cigarette smoke.

Our stay at Super 8 Altoona 6/16-6/18 So start off, the positives: Front dest/check-in = outstanding. Friendly, and was able to multitask, and get guests checked in, and attended to. Saturday/Sunday front dest staff = outstanding. Again friendly and attentive to guests. Also kept lobby area clean and coffee supplies full. Room was nice, bed very comfortable very spacious, furnishing modern and in good condition. Shower plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Unfortunately there were some negatives: 1st to put it bluntly, our room was not clean! Toilet and shower were dirty - hair etc. in tube shower. 2nd and this was a big issue. Very very heavy “night parking lot” activity! Loud - people, music, setting off car alarms etc. This also resulted in “in and out” traffic in the building, doors slamming throughout the night - was hard to sleep! You have staff that works very hard to make a pleasant stay for your guests, only to have it ruined, by actions of inconsiderate guests.

This hotel definitely had an old school charming appeal. However I would consider it very budget (though a $198 price per night doesn’t necessarily seem budget.). I prefer nicer, more up to date hotels and wouldn’t choose to stay here again. The bathroom had an odor and the room also had a definitive smell, which seemed to come from the heating unit.

I was traveling through, so the location was excellent. I arrived late in the evening, so it was nice that there was convient nearby food options. The TV remote would turn on and off the TV, but not allow you to change the channel. This was most likely an easy fix, but it was late so I didn't bother. There was also one set of towels. I was traveling solo for one night, but it would have been nice to have an additional set. Again, I am sure if I asked, they would have been provided. All of the staff that interacted with was super friendly. The only other thing was that I was prompted by the Super 8 to check in online. I went ahead and did that, and then had to do it again when I arrived. Overall, it I was stopping through again, I probably would stay again.

This hotel has an early 80s motel vibe. It really needs to be updated. My room smelled of old house/cigarette smoke and needed to be dusted. Furniture and lamps were very old. My room hadn’t been dusted and food from the previous guests was left in the room fridge.

Strange group outside. Grandma in her pjs, a picnic table, several people, a grill and chairs in a circle. All There at 9pm and again there at 9am. Hmmm…. I had a very poor experience at this hotel. The room was not cleaned properly, and the washroom tap was loose and wobbly. The reception staff was extremely rude during check-in and refused to answer any questions, which made the experience even worse. The overall standard of the hotel was far below expectations — definitely not worth the price. Waited 2 hours for a room i booked online. Was put in a room and then they came and told me they put me in the wrong room. Said they had to clean my new room and that took another hour.. Will not be staying here again.. i travel for work and work long hours. This was very disappointing and very inconvenient. Was never acknowledged that this was unsatisfactory..very very disappointed and will be sharing with my co-workers that also travel for work.

Check in was fast and courteous. I inquired about the best pizza delivery in the area and the choices were explained based taste, (garlic, sauce, toppings, etc..) They steered me in the right direction. Parking was easy and under some very powerful lights. Easy to get in and out of the area too. Very pleased and this Super 8 is the best lodging value I have found in about three years. As a career military member, I have travelled often and to many different places around the world. This is a great experience that is appreciated.

The smoke alarm went off twice and we had to leave our room. I did the online check in process and then I had to go through the process all over again. This hotel is unique I had to present my husbands ID also. At 11:00 promptly we got a call that we 11:00 is check out time. They forget the times smoke alarm went off. We checked in and were given the key to an already occupied room. The gentleman in the room wasn’t very happy (we opened the door and heard the tv and he yelled, we immediately closed the door, didn’t even see his face). Went to the front desk and was given the room right next to him. No further issues with that. The ceiling in the shower had a big crack and I was afraid it would open up at any moment. Other than that the stay was fine

The first floor is all full-time residence, but there are only about five cars. Until it gets dark outside, then the backside of the parking lot turns into a trap house the drug dealers just sit back there all night serving the residence narcotics. Probably not safe for families or women that are traveling alone

Let’s start with the good. The property is very close to PNG ballpark for Curve games. The hotel was also reasonably priced. That is unfortunately where the good comes to an end. The staff you can tell absolutely hate their jobs. Both check in and check out were not even close to a friendly experience. The hotel could also use some updates. It is showing major signs of wear and tear. Also there were always people hanging around back of the property which seemed very sketchy. It honestly seemed like the meetup spot where people buy their drugs. Next time I will spend the extra money to stay somewhere nicer and safer.

Our stay at Super 8 Altoona 6/16-6/18 So start off, the positives: Front dest/check-in = outstanding. Friendly, and was able to multitask, and get guests checked in, and attended to. Saturday/Sunday front dest staff = outstanding. Again friendly and attentive to guests. Also kept lobby area clean and coffee supplies full. Room was nice, bed very comfortable very spacious, furnishing modern and in good condition. Shower plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Unfortunately there were some negatives: 1st to put it bluntly, our room was not clean! Toilet and shower were dirty - hair etc. in tube shower. 2nd and this was a big issue. Very very heavy “night parking lot” activity! Loud - people, music, setting off car alarms etc. This also resulted in “in and out” traffic in the building, doors slamming throughout the night - was hard to sleep! You have staff that works very hard to make a pleasant stay for your guests, only to have it ruined, by actions of inconsiderate guests.

While the rooms were supposed to be smoke free, the carpets probably haven't been changed since it went smoke free. Folks that smoked did so at the entrance & exit, so for those of us allergic, we were subjected to it. Also, the check-in person was congenial, however, the check-out person didn't even acknowledge me. And, there was no type of breakfast food. The check-in person said there would be muffins & danish for breakfast. However, coffee was made for the guests. Overall, an older hotel & for an overnight stay was OK for the $$ charged. If it were for more than 1 night, you might want to re-think your plan.

It was a place to stay for the night which is what I needed but I would not stay here again. Only the front entrance to the hotel works, all other doors were broken. Property was not well maintained at all. Also even though I confirmed with the clerk that they would serve breakfast, as he said “at 6am sharp” I checked at 6:30, 7:15 and 7:45 and not so much as a pot of fresh coffee was available. One of the reasons why I booked here is because they included breakfast and I wanted to get an early start on my day. I don’t like being lied to, if you’re not going to serve breakfast just tell your guests that you are not. Don’t use it as selling point to book rooms. Many many other options in this area that are far better at this price point. I would not recommend this hotel.

I was a bit disappointed because the air conditioner was covered in dirt and dust, and it was causing me to cough all night long by the debris coming from the air conditioner into the air. The rugs were dirty my feet were black from just walking on the rug. The bathtub was stained from the black from peoples feet because the carpets were dirty. Their continental breakfast consisted of a muffin and a bottle of orange juice in a brown paper bag and you had to ask for that at the front desk. The beds were comfortable the sheets were clean, the towels were clean and very soft but other than that, I was not too impressed with this hotel. And I will not be returning to that hotel again.

This hotel is not ADA compliant. It has three floors and no elevator. Being a senior citizen. I had to haul my luggage up three stories of steps. They supposedly have breakfast included, which is not true. the picture shows what appears to be a decent breakfast when in truth the so-called breakfast there’s nothing more than a muffin and juice. On the positive side the room was decent and has been remodeled and refurbished I would say within the last few years. It is also very convenient off the Frankstown exit of I 99.

Strange group outside. Grandma in her pjs, a picnic table, several people, a grill and chairs in a circle. All There at 9pm and again there at 9am. Hmmm….
