Extended Stay America Suites - Detroit - Canton

I only rated the property conditions at a 4 because it’s older. I’m a single woman, and stayed a month here and found the staff to be wonderful, the parking safe even when coming back after dark, and anytime I needed anything the staff helped me immediately. I expected the site to be full of out of town contractors but it was a mixed crowd. Breakfast is very simple - don’t count on eggs and bacon. I used the refrigerator and stove and kitchenette and found them adequate for my needs.

Very disappointed and not even a pool. Should have stayed across the parking lot. Rooms dirty staff weird. No options to get out of the room. No amenities.

Room wasn't ready @ arrival. Eight officers in lobby while ✓ing in. No ice machines breakfast is a joke. Pot of coffee and little Debbie" crap.

They could have a check out bathroom.

This place is so run down and has zero amenities. No Gym, No Ice Machine to start. The rate was $204 per night, which is robbery for a 1.5 star property. Definitely NOT a business trip hotel. It looks like a homeless shelter in some aspects.

I like that they lock all the doors at night and you have to use a key to get in it does get frustrating sometimes you know trying to dig for your key late at night but it does keep out people who aren't supposed to be there and they're very good about checking the doors as well making sure nobody props them open

Easy check-in/check-out! Basic necessities provided. Laundry is a tad sub-par; machine kept funds a few times, dryer didnt fully dry. Staff did NOT willing sell quarters as stated in laundry room.

And again I've been here for a while now the staff here is just so excellent the laundry facilities are actually very nice as well

Hotel overall was decent for the price. No ice machine throughout the entire hotel is wild. Beds were very uncomfortable and the sheets were itchy to the point where I went and bought a new set from Walmart. On the last night of my 3 night stay there was slamming and banging going on in the hallways for over an hour at around 10PM so that was very inconvenient. And also I had to go to the front desk and get my key fixed because it stopped working on day 2/3. If the beds were replaced and a few amenities added I would stay here again.

Don’t stay here! The whole place smelled terrible. When I went to the room I went to the bathroom and there were roaches crawling on the floor. The sink in the room was absolutely disgusting as well. I went right back downstairs and told them I wasn’t staying there because of that and left. Booked through Expedia so was able to get a refund through them. Don’t even waste your time with trying to save a little money here not worth it.

From the stink when you walk thru front door to the trash that live there on full display in lobby. Horrible, stained beds

Found ants and tub stains hidden amid the paint splatter pattern. An associate out of uniform and with luggae appearing as a guest behind the counter assuring me someone would be right with me. Sir why are you even behind the counter at this point. A woman with red hair prolonged the check in with apologies and excuses all the while still having not clocked in only to then excuse and apologize for that. My thoughts to this Maam stay in the back and get it together before presenting in front of the guests. Hair like she survived a toornado. We all have bad days. YOU DO NOT have them in front of customers and your life story doesnt make us any less tense about what we are presented with at the end of the day being a bad experience. Most pleasant was the person I spoke to before arriving over the phone.

I did not like that There was hair all in the bathtub and on the counter there were also ashes in the window seal. Thought this was a no smoking facility.... The tub wouldn't drain so while I took a shower I had to stand in water gross. I really would like my money back on this room. I come here a lot and love this place but my last trip was awful

Hotel was good for the purpose of my trip. Very few amenities or extras. Room was clean, and comfortable. Having a full size fridge was helpful due to helping family move. Some improvement is needed with pillows, and shower pressure. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This was already addressed in a satisfactory manor by the property and by Hotels.com. This was a party hotel, with base music blaring from 11pm to 6:30am. Even worse there was no front desk support. I called the FD from the room and my cell, let ring 30x without answer. Hotels.com called the FD also without answer. Aside from NO sleep on a work trip, I felt insecure traveling alone and staying here. The next morning, there was NEW staff, that handled me, and my situation like they worked at a 5-star hotel. I truly appreciate the 7am FD staff on 3/9/25.

Nobody at the front desk past 10pm. Have to use their phone in the vestibule for anybody to pick up. Probably the most uncomfortable hotel bed I’ve slept in. Guess there’s descent amenities in the room (full fridge, kitchenette without any utensils). Next time will pay the extra $10 for a real bed and service.

Needs To Be Updated Bad

Property needs some updates. The furniture in the rooms look like it came from the Salvation Army. Everything just looks so old. Carpet was stained but vacuumed of course and the beds are really small.

The only actual complaint that I have is there are no kitchen amenities anything like that to come with the room I know that you're supposed to request them but I was told that it'd be easier just go by my own

No dish ware in the kitchen. No paper towels. Nothing. No hairdryer in the bathroom. These days, who doesn't have a blowdryer in the bathroom?

The manager on duty Latisa was horribly rude to us. Making us feel like we were the problem that the room that we were assigned to wasn’t anywhere near ready for us when we arrived to the hotel around 4pm. She would talk over us and wouldn’t give us a caring apology for making us feel unwelcome and not heard. She made us feel so uncomfortable and her only solution was to offer us a full refund and not even stay at the hotel. There was no way we were going to stay after the way she made us feel and how she treated us. Terrible customer service skills!!!!!

Late check-in was absolutely awful. We missed regular check in by about 5 minutes so followed the instructions for after hours check ins by dialing zero. It rang for about 10 minutes with no answer so I called the hotel’s actual number and got connected to “Mike” who said I needed to call the number on the phone to talk to guest services, who would then call him to come down. After explaining several times that I DID call the posted number and it rang for 10 minutes without an answer and explaining that I just wanted to check in, he finally sighed and said he’d be down in a few minutes. Once he finally came down, he tried to re-charge me for my prepaid room (not just a hold for incidentals). Once he actually checked me in, he didn’t even ask for my card for incidentals so be careful when checking in for a prepaid room. My husband, daughter, and I ALL had to sign a ridiculous “no partying” agreement as well. I’ve signed things like that in the past but making my 11 year old do it was a bit ridiculous. The room itself was old but fine. The beds were clean (a bit firm but I like that), and the room had a new tv, but the fridge was grubby on the outside and there were some other grubby spots throughout. Free wifi was included but I didn’t connect to it based on the shadiness of the check-in guy.

The staff was very professional, polite and helpful. They were willing to help in any way. They all deserve to be acknowledged for their friendliness.

The staff here arw absolutely amazing!!!!! They go above and beyond and always have a smile on their faces. I'd highly recommend!

Horrible place, Service was bad came down three times to switch rooms. The first time I was supposed to have a double bed for me and my two kids went up there the room was completely dirty. Nothing was cleaned or anything. The sheets were still not even came back down and I was given a single double bed for three people well and the person walked away didn’t even bother helping, tried to call hotels.com to get a refund couldn’t get through . Sad

When the concert was over I went to check in but the hotel canceled my reservation but still charged me bc we showed up after 11pm. Furious and staff had to idea how to handle anything?!

Hotel may be a little older but I'd definitely stay again. Tucked away and quiet. Many dining options in the area and easy access to/from highway, although traffic can be heavy at times getting around on Ford Rd.

It's tucked away in a plaza but with a view of a tree line so it doesn't portray too much city life, it's quiet and the staff is so friendly

Happy that the hotel was off of the highly congested Ford road. Hotel was behind Beaumont Medical building.It was quiet. Hotel was full because of the power outages, in Michigan.

The staff is nice and the location is great.

Very good place to stay, the staff is nice and service is good, location is great and overall property conditions are very good; I would definitely stay at this hotel if I were to return to Michigan for business or pleasure.

I just can't say it enough the staff here is amazing it's very clean it's very quiet everyone keeps to themselves and it's in a very nice area

The property is OK as well maintain but the breakfast is terrible

Staff was friendly and room was clean. Not noisy at all. That's all I needed. Breakfast is just muffins and oatmeal, but that was OK for at at this price point.

Only thing I did not like, there wasn’t any HOT breakfast. Just fast items, muffins , coffee, etc. Overall, The experience was great , we’ll recommend!

Check-in was wonderful. Was told by staff breakfast ended at 9- instead of 9:30. Wish there were more options for the selection. Wish the room was slightly updated compared to other Extended properties we’ve stayed at

Everything with our stay was great, however if you're going to advertise breakfast as an amenity I feel it needs to include more than coffee & oatmeal packages.

My stay at this hotel was extremely nice. Although, a wheelchair accessible room was not available, the staff made me feel very comfortable and I would visit there again. However, breakfast the breakfast did not offer enough choices.
