Pulling in I was immediately met with a very well lit parking lot which yave me a peace of mind. After enduring a 9 hour trip my legs were sore and I was ready to lay down so it was awesome to be met with smiles from the concierges' on duty that Wednesday night and for the extra effort and courtesy feom the concierge that assisted me of being put in a room downstairs. The description stated that there would be breakfast however since I hadnt planning on eating breakfast in the AM i didnt give much thought to not being told what time breakfast started and ended at check-in. There are signs posted that inform guests that breakfast must be eaten in the lobby, which I think may be a benefit to the hotel but an inconvenience for guests who prefer to eat in the privacy of their room. In my opinion maybe restricting the amount if food that is taken to the room may deter guests from taking more than they will eat at one time. I will admit I have been known to grab a couple of muffins for the road, which I would imagine if a majority of guests grabbed food for the road would increase the hotels food expenses. Walking in the room the first thing I noticed was the smell of the carpet that most hotels that still have carpet in their rooms have it wasnt off putting but it wasnt inviting either. The room's appearance overall was clean. Channel guide was a plus as well. There were restaurant and gas options nearby. Only minutes away from 95.

The staff was amiable and efficient. The room was ample, modern and clean. Ample parking even for vehicles with trailers. The facility is a very well maintained vintage hotel. Don’t expect the glitzy new buildings being built today, but the renovated rooms with comfort, cleanliness and amenities are exceptional. I recommend it.

When I made the reservation, I didn’t realize that this was a hotel with all rooms opening outside, and that half the rooms were up a flight of stairs. The clerk at the hotel was very accommodating when I told her I physically couldn’t handle the steps and she made sure I had a room on the first floor.

Great front office staff. No elevator. Quiet in back of the hotel. Clean room and comfy pillows/bed. Would have given 5 stars if there had been an elevator. Great for the price paid.

Hotel was clean and has been remodeled. No hot breakfast foods. Seniors should request a first floor room as there is no elevator. It's an older hotel but has been fairly well taken care of.

Not enough ice machines

The hotel was ok, signage and driving directions could be better, large empty parking lot next door and only 1 way to get over to hotel. The room was recently renovated but tub was old, stained and chipped, the carpet wasn't install nicely, seams exposed and there prickly things that caught on our socks. We asked for an accessible 1st fl room and although it was a first floor room, it was not movily handicap accessible. You could not fit a wheelchair in the bathroom or close the door.

I liked the fact that we had a 14ft trailer attached to our truck and they had a great parking spot for us.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was basic but good. Felt safe.No pool. Overall a decent stay.

Easy parking and clean room. Old school style motel.

We stayed one night on our way back to PA from FL. We checked in late (after 10pm) and left early (before 8am) but the rooms were clean and spacious. The water pressure in the shower was great. Front desk staff were friendly. I didn’t eat breakfast but my kids did before we left so that was nice. Price was right and would stay again if in the area.

Very clean and comfortable

Front desk smelled like skunk. The tv remote was nowhere to be found i walked to office 2x up & down the steps. Got an extra remote that the batteries were dead then the tv didnt work at all. The sheets had black hair that fell out when pulledback. Room was barely clean the shower curtain had mold all over it.

The room was disguising. MOLD on walls. The room had an odor. Sink had no stopper so when water was turned on nasty mold smell filled the room. I have pictures to back up my statement of mold all over room especially bathroom behind ironing board.

Room dirty, carpet ripped, walls stained, smelled like smoke, carpet dirty.

Everything was pretty good until just before we left. The tub drain was very slow and so you stood in ankle deep grey water. Then just as we were picking up over suitcases to leave, a cockroach ran across the top of the dresser. It didn’t bother me but my wife sort of freaked out.

Room was dirty not swept, had bad smell . Beware.

Room smelled terrible, including the sheets. Vent in bathroom appears to have black mold and is in desperate need of cleaning. Completely different from previous HoJo I stayed at.

The outside of the facility seems dated. However, the rooms are great, newly decorated and comfortable. One of the best hotels we have stayed in in the past few months while we have been traveling.

The room appeared to be recently renovated, but the A/C was so loud we had to turn it off to sleep. By the time we realized the problem, we were settled in and didn't want to change rooms. We were concerned about their policy that they don't rent to locals, but the parking lot was well lit and we didn't have any problems.

The AC unit had evidently been leaking condensation and the carpet was very wet between the AC and the bed. The metal parts of the lamps were rusted as a restocking the very humid air. Pillows were obviously very old, misshapen, and different sizes and kinds. The shower and tub were slippery and had nothing to hold onto. The flooring of the bathroom sink and counter was very slippery and dangerous due to some product that had been applied. This was the second room we were assigned. We were unable to close the door of the first room bc it wasn’t hung properly.

This is a highway exit hotel and I don’t usually expect a lot. However, the staff was very nice and expedient with our check in/check out process. As a traveling professional I have become very acclimated to what I will find in/from hotels. During this trip this was our first over night and the experience was a very good one. Rooms were clean and spacious. The only down side was that the walls were thin and we could hear everything in the room next door. But overall it was a good experience. I would stay again.

Room was very clean. The staff was very pleasant and easy to interact with. The one issue that we weren't happy was the room curtain. There was an issue about light coming in overnight. We will definitely stay here again.

Had to move to 3 different rooms, keys would not unlock the doors. Once in the room I was afraid to leave for fear of not being able to get back in.

For the first time in many years of visiting this hotel, I was confronted in the lobby at breakfast and told I couldn't bring the food back to my room because they didn't want guests making a mess in the rooms. My husband wasn't feeling well and needed to stay in bed, so I was bringing him his breakfast (not that anyone asked). I didn't appreciate the attitude, nor the confrontation in front of other guests. This seems to be a ridiculous policy as guest rooms come equipped with microwaves and fridges, so clearly food can be brought in and consumed in the rooms. I felt humiliated and astonished by the experience, especially when the staff member followed me out the door when I asked if I could just bring the food out to my car instead and was told that would be ok. I am disappointed by the way some of the staff members treat their guests who are there to relax and refresh between stops on long road trips, or just visiting the area sights. After more than 10 years of stopping at this hotel, I believe I will be looking for other options from now on.

Everything worked as hoped starting with the early check in where no one made us return but instead said "no problem, you are welcome!" to a clean conveniently located room away from the traffic. This is a 1/2 way point to family, so we will definitely recommend and book again. The price is right, the staff very nice and the location and amenities perfect for a one night stop.

Trey was very helpful. I feel it's a little too secluded for my liking. The photos look better on the website.

Too close to the train station operating at night

It’s convenient getting on and off the I95. Even though it’s an older property it’s well maintained. Very quiet and good value for the price. Many dining options close by.

Property was well maintained and clean. Close to restaurants and gas for easy on/off the highway while traveling.

Stayed one night on my way to Virginia. Very dated hotel, not sure how it has an excellent rating. My room smelled like a cross between an old man and a gym locker. When I ran the water in the bathroom it had a sewer smell. I had to spray my perfume in the room to get whatever the smell was out of there. Just very musty and old. Not thrilled with the location as I did not feel 100% safe. Thumbs up for the staff at check-in and check out, and the bed was comfortable once I sprayed the pillows to get rid of the smell.

Liked that it was right off the highway and clean

This motel is great for the price. It is clean and simple with all the amenities in the room of a larger hotel. There's plenty of places to eat and a Starbucks right on the corner.

This is not a fancy hotel but it is clean, easily accessible from I95, has an adequate breakfast and is budget friendly. Will stay here again.

Reasonable price, close to I 95 Continental breakfast with eggs, muffins, cereal, fruits.

Breakfast was supposed to be included. This consisted of cereal and muffins. Traveling with my 2 kids I attempted to take a few muffins to our room and was stopped and informed I was not allowed to eat in room. I was required to eat at tables. Front desk guy monitors everyone eating. Maybe don’t offer breakfast. If you don’t want food in rooms put that on your site. Haven’t been in Howard Johnson’s in 30 years looks like I won’t be back at all.

The front desk staff were very professional. Especially, Travious. The breakfast is sorry.

Convenient hotel right off the highway that’s great for a night’s sleep. Room wasn’t the greatest, but it was good enough for the price point and bed was comfy.

Old hotel but nicely kept up. Not much for breakfast except nagels

Breakfast in the morning was kind of light, not muck to choose from. We were looking for waffles or pancakes in the morning. There was none, other than that. It was OK.

Clean and comfortable at a fair price But ... Light connected to switch by the door was burned out. Parking tag is unusual and unnecessary for a rural/suburban location. Continental breakfast underwhelming, coffee extraordinarily weak.
