Linden House Hotel

Had a one night stay with child so we had a 2 twin bed room. I bookedthis as it was affordable and near Paddington station. We werent looking for luxury. The hotel is basic but clean. Beds were hard but sleepable for us. Room was quiet and clean. Provided tea/coffee, although sink was small so we filled from the shower head! We were at the top of the stairs (there is no lift and we knew this going in) roughly 4 flights with suitcases. They did store our suitcases after check out which was appreciated. Centrally located just a few blocks from the station.

Third floors without elevetors and 3 big luggage to carry upstairs.. not happy for my daughter travelling by herself 😌😌😌

There was no AC and the building is extremity warm.

The room was very clean and the owner was very kind to us. It's really close to Paddington station and very convenient. They don't have elevator so it's too hard to go up 4 floors with a suitcase... Would recommend if you travel with a backpack otherwise the stairs it's a nightmare.

The hotel is located near Paddington train station and loads of nearby restaurant. Our room was located on the top floor and there was no lift available. It was still under renovation so there were areas that are dusty and dirty. Air-conditioning was very strong. very good for summer. Another issue was the water pressure which was very poor.

No air con! I should’ve checked when booking. Fans provided but rooms extremely hot. Hotel is old and run down, in desperate need of doing up or just a deep clean. Showers riddled with mould. Sheets and towels stained and don’t smell clean. Location is great, only good thing.

Hotel has the best location for transportation, but the problem is the hotel does not support an elevator to go upper level specially, if you have luggage no one to help you

Property isn’t a good location and the staff are friendly enough. But everything seems kind of worn out and repaired with Band-Aids. There is no elevator and I walked up four flights of stairs with a heavy suitcase. The room had no air conditioning and as it was July and London, it was quite hot.

I had a pleasant stay overall—everything was clean, the host was responsive, and the amenities were as described. The location was great and the atmosphere of the place felt cozy and welcoming. However, two things to note: the room was quite small, which made it a bit tight for moving around, especially with luggage. More importantly, there is no elevator on the property, which made carrying heavy bags up to the upper floors very challenging and inconvenient. If someone is traveling light, this may not be an issue, but for anyone with large or heavy luggage, be prepared for a bit of a workout. Despite that, I enjoyed the stay and would consider returning if traveling alone and not in a group and with less baggage.

Great location, close to Paddington station and lots of food options nearby. Also close to Kensington gardens. However the hotel itself has a lot to be desired. There are zero amenities, the rooms are tiny, no air conditioning and cramped bathroom. Our room was downstairs which felt like a dungeon/basement area. Thankful this was only a one night stay.

The only plus is its accessibility to Paddington Station. Everything else was the cheapest possible including the little round shrink-wrapped soaps that you can't open, and shampoo and body wash in little plastic packets that you can't open. Cheaper than the worst Motel 6 or Days Inn in the United States. Our bathroom floor was so sticky that we had to ask for extra towels to use as carpet so our feet wouldn't stick to the floor. And WORST of all, there is no top sheet on the beds, only dirty bedspreads on both beds that hundreds of previous guests have slept with over them before your arrival. Totally disgusting. And at an exorbitant price that cannot be justified even in London. Staff was friendly, but no breakfast included at nearly $200 per night, and no elevator. Lots of loud drunks on the street outside once the bars close. A terrible and disgusting 2-night stay, will never return.

Good location, everything else is HORRIBLE. A massive amount of bed bugs in the room forced me and my family to flee to another hotel even though we had paid for one more night already. We simply had to get out of that terrible place. Besides the bugs, the room was unbelievably small. No room for an open suitcase on the floor. No aircon. Only a very noisy fan, so we never got a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was also small and the shower didn’t have a hand piece, only overhead shower. The bathroom door was so noisy it would wake up the whole room if you had to go to the bathroom at night. There were spots on the “clean” sheets and dust under the bed. I could go on and on, but I think my message is clear: WARNING, stay away, especially if you’re bringing your family to London. This is the sort of place that can ruin your holiday. This is not a 3 star hotel. Only worthy of one star in my eyes.

Plug sockets and lights didn't work, fan was ineffective, floor was filthy and sinking in one spot. Bathroom was very shabby. There was only one bedside table and lamp. TV placed very high to one side. Not good value for money. For the amount paid it looked and felt very cheap. I would have expected a much better room for that price.

Hotel was crawling with Bed Bugs. Stay here if you want to be bitten. In my 20 years of using Expedia, this is the worse property I've stayed at. We were in London over the weekend when Wimbledon, Eurocup final and London Marathon were happening so the city was sold out. If not we would have gladly paid to move to another place. Don't be fool by the low price - it's not worth it.

Very cozy and clean

The hotel is spotlessly clean in a superb location. The staff are very pleasant & welcoming. The cleaning service is fantastic. Great value for money. The only minor negative is we were on the very top floor. This is ideal for young people though anyone with mobility issues should clarify a low floor is needed.

The propery was dirty no dining facilies rooms qere not as listed and small fleas in the bed and no carpet on stairs buikding dust everywhere microwave in bad condition overall the worst place ever

The rooms was a bit small but in good conditions. A good option to stay a night or two. I wouldn't stay longer personally. The room was in the underground floor.

The area around the hotel is nice and convenient but the room was really small. It looked different in the pictures that was advertised

It’s a decent place to sleep at night while staying in central London. It’s nice and clean and the staff is friendly. Central location as everything is within walking distance and close to Paddington station and Edgeware Road! Loads of dining options near by! But don’t expect too much from the place itself as it’s not that spacious! We had our room on 4th floor and the stairs were narrow and there is no lift. We booked double bed, but in our room 2 single beds were joined together with 2 single mattresses! Not the most comfortable feeling when sleeping as the mattresses keep shifting and you find yourself in between 2 mattresses! Shower pressure was okay, not ideal but we survived! Overall not bad! Would recommend anyone staying in central London for few nights!!

The staff were very nice, there was work going on in the hotel so it wasn’t the tidiest or cleanest; most of it was avoidable. The beds were awful; very uncomfortable and the bathroom needed updating as the shower tray was chipped and marked all over and it made it look dirty. The toilet seat also needed tightening etc. The room wasn’t hoovered/ mopped properly from previous guests or while we were there, they just made the beds and put in fresh towels, but there wasn’t a sign to put on the door if you didn’t want it done. I know you can tell them at reception, but it’s just the smaller details they maybe need to improve on. The WiFi wasn’t great, a bit temperamental especially if on O2! You couldn’t watch much tv as it wasn’t tuned in correctly and you couldn’t watch all the normal terrestrial channels, so limited. Netflix was there, but you couldn’t get on to it. I know tv isn’t the most important thing, but if there’s one there it should work properly. We went to that hotel as it seemed to be a reasonable price for the area and for the convenience of getting to the places we wanted to go. However, in reality, there were lots of little areas that needed attention, which combined made it quite disappointing, but could easily be fixed. We enjoyed our trip, but after long days exploring we needed a bit of comfort and proper sleep :(

There wasn't any clothing hook in the bathroom so it was inconvenient, the wifi signal was intermittent and would disconnect at times. Overall the hotel was alright and very walkable to Paddington station.

Location was great, we were able to walk everywhere or had easy access to the underground. We were in the basement so had no natural light and the room was stuffy, beds were tiny and uncomfortable. The staff were lovely. It was fine for the price but I wouldn’t stay again.

Excellent location 5 mins from Paddington Station. Very near to bars & restaurants. Staff were friendly & helpful. Hotel/rooms were very clean and a comfortable bed. Hotel rooms are tiny and hotel/rooms in need of a bit of a spruce up. However, for the price it was not bad at all! Would stay again.

It was an okay stay. Rather small rooms though not much space to move. I would say abit over priced.

A top layer madrass on the hard beds would have been nice. Price of the room was ok but the description mentioned big windows but we ended up in the basement with 1 small window. Room was clean but very noisy/thin floors. Didnt sleep much due to noise from floor above.

The property was in a convenient location and the staff was friendly and let us choose which room we wanted. We thought it was strange that they made us give the key back when we left the hotel. When we would come to pick up our key for the night, there was no verification process, you just tell them your room number and they give you the key. It seems like you could say any number and get a key. The building was under construction so I’m sure it will be nicer when they complete renovations, but we found the key process/ security unusual and did not like it.

Very friendly and helpfull employees!

The room was decent. However, the shower cubicle in the bathroom was clogged. The location was perfect as it was near the Paddington station. I only have one major complaint with the hotel: I got to learn from my wife that when she checked in, they requested her card details for security purposes. The issue was that they also took down her CVV card details. This is definitely not for security purposes and the hotel should not be requesting the CVV details of the card. My wife ended up having to contact the bank to get her card cancelled as her card may be compromised. Overall a poor to average experience.

Avoid! The service here is so extremely bad. The man in reception alex is keep telling for every single thing we ask for that this and that is not included in the hotel service.

Friendly staff in a hotel that meets all your standard needs. Great neighbourhood, very close to Paddington Station with all its tube lines.

Staff were really pleasant and helpful nothing to much trouble bedrooms modern and clean would of been better if you could have breakfast continental would do but there is plenty of cafes nearby for breakfast would recommend it to anyone great value for money Will definitely stay again

Whatever you do, DO NOT stay at this hotel. I booked this hotel after looking at the photos online and when I got to my room, the room looked nothing like the photos online. The room was gross and filthy with a beat up headboard, dirty sheets and a disgusting shower. After assessing the room, I went out to the man working the front desk to show him the condition of the room and how unlike the advertised photos it was. He was incredibly rude and dismissive telling me I should be grateful for the room and not listening to my complaints. I requested a refund which he told me I’d never receive. He did not care to hear about my concerns and did not provide any customer service. I had to last minute book a different hotel, incurring more expenses since this one was not clean to stay at. I have attached what was advertised online and what my room actually looked like.

No hospitality. Didn’t feel welcome and was not provided any help going up a million stairs. No assistance going up the stairs with our luggage, just an “oops sorry” you’re at the top. Bathroom smelled dirty, toilet was dirty when we first got there.

Very convenient location and spacious room!! Staff was very welcoming and helpful, and are there 24/7 to help with anything. You can tell the building itself is quite old, but the rooms are well kept and clean! Having Paddington Station nearby was very handy coming from Heathrow. Good stay!

The hotel is family friendly, a quiet hotel with a kettle in the room with tea and coffee. Room was clean with plenty of storage for suitcases and areas to hang clothing. Perfect location, few minutes walk from Paddington Station and Underground – with plenty of cafes and restaurants.

Hotel is in a great location with easy access to lots of stuff. Food and drinks in the area were the best! Hotel does not have a lift and some of the rooms are tiny but they have what you need.

Mcdonalds with in walking distance for breakfast, close to Paddington station and hotel was perfect for our needs. 1 adult, 4 kids.

The property was close to everything, we were able to walk to landmarks or walk to Paddington station to catch a subway. Food and markets within a block of the hotel. Small room but we only used it for sleep and showers. Room cleaned everyday, staff always greeted us on the way in or out.

Lovely clean room, friendly helpful staff. Hotel was in excellent location for Oxford Street and Hyde Park, but there were also plenty of restaurants and cafes located locally.
