Parking late at night was impossible, there are containers taking up space, we ended up having to park on the grass. The room smelled like someone just cooked in it. It is dated, but the friendliness of the front desk made it worth it!

I enjoyed a very nice stay here, therefore, I have decided to extend my stay for another three nights. My room is very clean and spacious. I really appreciate the coffee at the check-in area. Also, I was delighted to find out that your “free” laundry room was so nice with many of machines. Just another added attraction of staying here.This is has bern and continues to be a very welcoming experience . Thank you.

The parking area was safe but there was not enough parking due to several large containers in the lot. Kitchens while convenient were very outdated with the dish washer having rust along the bottom. One of the rooms we stayed in had black mold which caused a young child to cough and required a room change. Another room we had booked had so much animal dander still present in the room that my sister n law had an allergic reaction that triggered her asthma. The rooms and halls smelled. Shower pressure was really low and the caulking in the bathroom needed to be re-done. The one bright spot was the front desk staff. The ladies who worked the front desk were very apologetic about the conditions of the room. My family and i booked 7 rooms at this hotel based off the rating on Hotels.com and the affordability. We all agreed we would pay triple the price to have better peace of mind.

Everyone that works for the hotel was friendly, but the hotel has not been updated in a while. There is no breakfast, no coffee, no air conditioning in the gym or the laundry room, and our room and hallway had a musty odor to it.

Laudry was free and the machine were great. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well located. Staff was very helpful. The kitchen was handy. Really enjoyed my stay!

I’m trying to be fair with this review considering I booked knowing they were renovating. I didn’t realize how big of a renovation they were doing though. Pros: Property was very clean and metal quiet. Bed is an actual real coil mattress. I notice lately hotels are going cheap on beds and frames. It’s very disappointing. A choice of different firmness and types of pillows on the bed was a nice surprise. Rooms are large and carpeted which I like. Also had no issues with keys being deactivated. Now the CONs: parking is an issue on certain days if you return later in the evening. Although they have large smart TVs you can’t get Netflix or YouTube even know there are buttons on the remote for it. I found the TV very difficult to use and ultimately gave up on it and had to watch things on my laptop. Another big negative is the bathroom fan and light are on the same switch and the fan is loud. Mostly ended up doing everything in the bathroom in dark. The finishes in the room are ok but a bit dated. At check in there was no properly working bell cart. Staff was aware and did nothing to resolve the situation. I was there for a long stay and had to take multiple trips all the way to the 3rd floor to bring all my things in. Staff there is completely unimpressive. Standards for employees and service in hospitality have really fallen to an embarrassing level. Gym and laundry were closed for a few days durning my stay. It will be nice when the renovation is done.

The room isn't completely clean, there was a lot of dust and small bugs here and there. The gym facilities seem unfinished, with half the machines not working and a lot of the dumbbells missing. In itself, the building is a bit rundown and unclean. The fridge in our room was broken and refused to turn on, the phone was also broken. The TV channels didn't match the directory given and the AC was extremely inconsistent after trying to turn it on a couple of times. The biggest thing was the bug infestation. Our bed seemed to be infested with a lot of small bugs that bit terribly; I woke up with itchy, red welts all over my legs and feet. Overall, I would not recommend staying here at all.

This hotel is very dirty and it smells bad. When asked for extra sheets, we were told we cannot have any. The cleaning crew also informed us that the hotel is only cleaned weekly and a certain amount of rooms are to be cleaned weekly. The hotel is not cleaned daily and it smells so bad and smell of mold. I was also informed that this hotel shelters people. That may explain the bad smell. The showers were broken. The toilet did not work and our rooms were changed. The second rooms that we were given was just as worse as the first rooms. I doubt if this hotel is up to code. This place was horrible, the service was horrible and I did not enjoy my stay at all.

It smelt so bad inside. The hallways blast you with some type of spray. But inside the rooms omggggg, it smells like dirty toilet water. It was so pungent, i slept with the window wide open for 2 nights. But the smell will be there forever. Creepy people also stay there. This one guy came up to me in the parking lot and asked to drive my car. -_- who does that? And he lived there. And it was just creepy all together. It was nice having free laundry though. That was the only room in the whole building that smelt nice.

The entire stay the property smelled horrible with a bad mix of cigarettes and weed. Some of the other guests were extremely messy and even dropped chocolate or something on my girlfriend getting out of the elevator. The shower worked half the time and the maids skipped our room as nothing was done in our room both days of our stay. Overall very upset and would not recommend

Among the best customer service (every staff member from reception to cleaning staff) I have experienced. Suite was recently renovated since my stay four years ago. Spotlessly clean! Plenty of kitchen supplies, terrific bathroom, good size bedroom, comfy bed...better than many more expensive suite/extended stay hotels I have been to.

I was a bit nervous to book here due to some of the negative reviews but it was actually much better than I expected. My check in & out experience was quick and pleasant. Granted that the property is not brand new but it's also a far cry from "rundown" or "in need of renovation" The public areas were mostly clean albeit a little dated. Most importantly my room was 100% clean, spacious, and comfortable. The carpeting was free of any stains and the bathroom was immaculate. Also, the A/C kept the room ice-cold during my mid-August stay! Only two (very) minor gripes - the refrigerator in the kitchenette area was a bit loud and the internet wasn't exactly blazing fast (about 10-15Mbps in my tests). For what I paid this place was a total bargain and will stay here again every time I need to be in this area for work.

Pros: Property was very clean and metal quiet. Bed is an actual real coil mattress. I notice lately hotels are going cheap on beds and frames. It’s very disappointing. A choice of different firmness and types of pillows on the bed was a nice surprise. Rooms are large and carpeted which I like. Also had no issues with keys being deactivated. Now the CONs: parking is an issue on certain days if you return later in the evening. Although they have large smart TVs you can’t get Netflix or YouTube even know there are buttons on the remote for it. I found the TV very difficult to use and ultimately gave up on it and had to watch things on my laptop. Another big negative is the bathroom fan and light are on the same switch and the fan is loud. Mostly ended up doing everything in the bathroom in dark. The finishes in the room are ok but a bit dated. At check in there was no properly working bell cart. Staff was aware and did nothing to resolve the situation. I was there for a long stay and had to take multiple trips all the way to the 3rd floor to bring all my things in. Staff there is completely unimpressive. Standards for employees and service in hospitality have really fallen to an embarrassing level. Gym and laundry were closed for a few days durning my stay. It will be nice when the renovation is done.

from check in to check out the experience couldn't have been better. Hope was so helpful in finding a good room for me and my little corgi. The room was clean and very comfortable. The grounds are so well kept and beautiful. Angela was kind upon check out early in the morning. This was our second stay here, planning my return trip to stay in this oh-so-nice motel <3

Among the best customer service (every staff member from reception to cleaning staff) I have experienced. Suite was recently renovated since my stay four years ago. Spotlessly clean! Plenty of kitchen supplies, terrific bathroom, good size bedroom, comfy bed...better than many more expensive suite/extended stay hotels I have been to.

My wife called and asked if we check in early which we were advised we could. Upon arrival an older black woman at the desk rudely snapped at me that she had just started her shift and she would not be checking in anyone. Totally unprofessional and rude she was. Another gentleman actually left and booked somewhere else since he was given the same treatment. The worst introduction/reception I have ever had when checking in. I also thought to book elsewhere. Waited till 4pm then came back to check in. Gave my license and credit card then was told by her how she hated my name(Damion) and how it wa the name of the devil. No apology for her rudeness which just occurred minutes ago. This woman is by far the worst front desk associate I have ever seen. The two other front desk people( 2 Spanish women one younger one older) were the best. Kind and professional. The older black woman. HORRIBLE. FYI Im a middle aged professional black man so as to not confuse anyone. Sonesta should be aware of who they have working for them at reception. I will not return to Sonesta Simply in Somerset at all and I will be sure to advise anyone I know not to book there either.

They wouldn’t let me check in because they didn’t receive a card from Expedia and i had a long day and was Very tired and I’ve stayed there many times before and the young desk girl was going to let me check in, but the much older woman said not to and made me wait 30 minutes before i could check in and the thing that bothered me was that my room was paid for in full and my information was in the system and both women seen me there before. Last thing that made my stay poor was that i was so tired from work the day before, I didn’t leave the room till the next day late and when i came back to relax again my key card didn’t work and i was on the 3rd floor and had my hands full, so i had to go back down to the front desk and get my key card scanned and it was only a 2 day stay, so definitely was not a good weekend stay.

The property is in a good location close to 287 and many businesses. I’m sure at one point it looked nice but possibly the clientele has ruined what was once nice. The carpets in the stairwells are disgusting! Extraordinarily disgusting ! The rooms are spacious, there are kitchens with refrigerators. The woman at the front desk was amazing !

This place was amazing only issue I had was someones car alarm going off at 3am and it kept going off...very unpleasant to be awoken to an alarm that wont stop. Also I did not receive any information explaining breakfast.

Not so much Sonesta- not sure what happened but booked 2 rooms through Expedia. Upon arrival I was told they only had me for 1 room even though I shared my travel itinerary and receipts. Took 45 minutes to figure out a solution and Expedia did right the situation and covered cost of mistake on whoever’s part. Could have sworn they offered breakfast buffet but they did not and no ice machines in building. Ice maker in room did not work. Just a big hassle for an overnight trip. Will not book here again.

I would suggest a beverage selection and expanded offerings at "the Store." Perhaps they were available and I didn't see them. "Guide" function on the TV remote needs reprogramming. Some channels are mislabeled. Unpleasant odor of tobacco or marijuana in foyer/entry, altho no odor in the rest of the property.
