Unhelpful and rude reception staff. Was told that I couldn’t check in early initially and that they couldn’t store my overnight bag either and that if I didn’t like it I was welcome to book in to another hotel in the area. Eventually the assistant manager said that I could check in early for £20. Was then given a key for an already occupied room. Rooms have no air conditioning.

On arrival we checked in and were given the key card to our room. However it didn’t work so we had to go all the way back to reception and were then told that there was a glitch and none of the cards were working! A member of staff then accompanied us to back to our room to let us in. I know that isn’t their fault, but they could have told us when we arrived and accompanied us in the first place. I saw this happen with other people too. The card didn’t work the whole time we were there. That was a shame because otherwise I would have scored this higher as the staff were friendly and the room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good and the location of the hotel is very convenient for DLR/main line trains. Very little parking nearby so if you are travelling by car it’s a bit inconvenient. Otherwise a good stay.
