The Palms Hotel

Great place for a weekend in Key West. The building and grounds were very clean. It was nice to have a bar at the pool. Pool is big and no one is floating on top of another. I would stay there again.

Nice clean room. Property is very Florida. Pool was great. Nice little happy hour by the pool. Pitfall is not enough parking right by the hotel. Had to park 2 streets over.

Adorable hotel. It has everything you need and located within walking distance to the beach and to the harbor with all the shops and restaurants/bars. The staff are friendly and helpful. Loved that you can rent bicycles from the hotel.

Nice place to stay. Rooms are small, so if you have more than 2 adults, it can be tight. Luggage is where it gets tight. Nice breakfast downstairs by the pool. Full service bar opens in the evening. Weather was accommodating so we sat outside to enjoy the bar. Swimming pool is one of the biggest i have seen in the Keys. All and i would stay there again.

Lovely accommodation close enough to Duval to enjoy the crazy crowds but far enough away to have some peace and quiet. Heated pool and complimentary breakfast.

Charming historic hotel.. at edge of old town. Walkable bikable etc. Beds good, our room was spacious (double queen). Unique experience. Breakfast fine, substantial (hot/cold). Small staff I guess.. sometimes late aft or evening no one in office which was mildly annoying as stopped us from doing a few things or waiting - aka getting pool towels, renting a hotel bike one time.. But overall would recommend. Good value for low/mid-price hotel (off-season anyway). Pool like many pools pretty small, maybe enjoyable for kids.. Wasn’t there for pool. Parking can be problematic, 4 spaces in back, even in off season we had to search side streets a lot one night when we lost our hotel spot. Sadly pool bar and happy hour closed when there (off season mid week), too bad as was feature looking forward to. Could buy drinks in office instead and take to pool, but not that ‘resort feeling.’

Check in was seamless. One flight up of stairs to room; no elevator. It was a quiet area. The hotel pool was nice.

Very quaint and unique property. Originally two separate Victorian homes (1880) that have been blended into a seemles charming hotel. Complimentary breakfast had a nice assortment, rooms are very clean and well apointed. It's location is in the "quiet" part of Old Town so it is a bit of a walk to any action. We rented an eCart from A&M. The pool is salt water. Happy hour is from 3-5 at the cabana bar pool side.

Great, pet friendly hotel that was about a 10-15 minute walk to Duval Street. Staff was super friendly! The pool was lively. Easy to find parking and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!!

Not the cleanest place that I have stayed. Found mold inside ice bucket and on the mattress cover. Also the shower floor was filthy. Drinks at the pool bar are ridiculously priced. They charged my husband $48 for two mixed drinks!

The hotel itself is beautiful, but due to the age of the building, you can hear everything happening outside your room and in the rooms above. I could hear every step from the room above us, as well as the TV and conversations, which made it difficult to relax. The size of the room was as expected for the price we paid. However the floor in our room was not properly cleaned it was sticky from the moment we walked in. We requested room service the next day. While they provided fresh towels and made the bed, they did not clean the toilet or the floor, which remained sticky.

I mean, I really wanted to like this place. I did. The location is pretty good, however, this place is just really, REALLY rundown for the price. The bathroom is so tiny that only one person can stand inside at a time. The door nearly hits the toilet seat as it swings. The shower is SO tiny. Don't put any elbows out while you wash your hair, they will hit the wall. There is also no shelf, so when you bend down to get your shampoo off the floor (ew), one or both sets of cheeks will definitely bump the wall. The shower was just so nasty that I felt like I needed shower flip flops. Yuck. So, so dirty. See the pictures for yourself. The room itself was small but fine. The tiles on the floor are all cracked and loose. They wobble as you walk across them. The fridge doesn't work, even though it's plugged in. (Found out the hard way.) The mirror on the wall is hung so high that you can only see yourself in it if you're 6'5" or taller. The AC is loud but it drowns out noise of people in the pool or walking around the property at night. Unfortunately the curtains are so long that they block the AC. So you can either have air at night or you can block the hallway light shining right into your eyes from outside the window, but you can't have both. Breakfast is included at a cute cabana next to the pool, but unfortunately it consists of coffee, tea, juice, and breads/cereals. Oh, and a single tiny crockpot of soggy sausages. That's it. Just skip this place. It's just really dirty.

We had a pleasant stay. The pool and breakfast were satisfactory and simple. We did not have a chance to enjoy tiki bar. The charm of the building is nice. Our room was comfortable however our shower didn’t work at first and had to use the room next door. Our shower also had someone’s hair it as well. The shower itself could use a lot of updating but served our purpose although minimal water pressure. The young lady who helped us was very accommodating. We came to relax and have some fun and we did. We never use room service so I can not comment. We rented bicycles for a day and enjoyed they were rented on site.

Victor was very welcoming and so helpful upon checking in! Other staff that we encountered we friendly too. My only complaint is that the pool was not clean at all. There was algae growing and cloudy. I saw people come skim the water and “vacuum”, but that did not help the issue.

Our room was very small. The mattress was bowed and higher at the foot-end. The toilet gurgled and the water would drain from the bowl. The AC is very noisy. Avoid Room 101A.

Nice hotel, but the room was never dark at night - really could use some blackout curtains. Also the window AC unit was incredibly noisy and right next to the head of the bed, so I got very little quality sleep. Also the bird cage is charming, but who thought it was a good idea to keep a bunch of chirping birds right next to a bedroom? Breakfast is standard budget hotel breakfast - nice that it’s available till 10am.

What a beautiful place to stay in Key West. The staff was so friendly and helpful no matter what we asked. Extremely clean room and quiet. Walkable to shops,dining and such. From a woman's point of view they need shelves in the shower and some more on the walls. We would definitely stay again

This was a great location, we walked everywhere in Old Town. The property is very quirky, with lots of character. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I found the quality of the food at breakfast a bit disappointing.

First time at the Palms in key west. Overall a very good stay. It is quiet and clean and the beds are comfy. It’s @ 25 minute walk to Duval street (@ $5 Lyft/Uber ride). They also have bikes that you can rent for $18/day. TV in room with streaming services. The best part of this place is the service- my husband wanted to watch a college football game during our stay and unfortunately it was only on ESPN which did not come in on the hotel TV. Ja’ire (sorry for misspelling!) the front desk man went above and beyond in order for us to be able to watch the game - he contacted the owner and they added espn so we could watch the game. It really made the night for my husband and allowed us to watch an amazing game between ND and Penn State. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in key west.

Honestly, the best way to describe our stay was "fine". Upon arrival, the front desk attendant was rude. He seemed very annoyed by my inquiry on whether or not our room was available early (as the hotel had previously communicated it might be). We asked again around 2pm and again, very annoyed at being asked a simple question. I'll add that neither time did he look at anything in the computer so he was just stating it was not ready regardless of the true status. Shortly after 3 when we went back to check in, thankfully the new attendant was kind, eager to answer my questions, and incredibly helpful. Unless I totally missed it, there is no elevator for those that may need assistance to access the 2nd floor. Thankfully we navigated to our room without much issue as we were given a very clear map of the property. The room was fine. Dated and plain but appeared clean and suited the need of "just a place to lay your head". I agree with other reviewers the bathroom was tiny! No shelving in the shower, single stall kind of tiny. The room was quiet and felt safe. The "breakfast" was nearly non-existent. Fruit, bagels, juice... thats all i saw. Don't book based on the free breakfast... At the end of the day, would i book/stay here again? Probably not. I would probably find something a bit more renovated, a bit closer to downtown, and somewhere that had onsite guaranteed parking.

Overall, we had a great time at The Palms. We stayed for seven nights for a wedding. Definitely not the swankiest of places to stay but the pool and bar were nice and the room was comfortable, though not super updated. It’s a little more central but it we never waited more than 2 minutes for a $10 Uber ride to the busier areas. The staff was nice especially the bartender. My only warning is don’t expect an early check in. If you arrive before 3pm they’ll make you wait.

As an Expedia Platinum member, I travel a lot which means that I have experienced and stayed at some particular and challenging hotels globally, but by far, not exaggerating one bit, in a non-entitled way, the WORST experience I’ve ever had was at the Palms Hotel in Key West. The Hispanic staff who barely speak English had an arrogant and condescending tone and were highly unprofessional which triggered/motivated me to post this negative review. Jair or Joaquin (employee gave me multiple fake names), the front desk Hispanic short male is a lawsuit waiting to happen. A person with his horribly poor customer service skills MUST NOT have contact with guests. Diane(a), Hispanic older female, who claims to be the property manager, was just as unpleasant to deal with. They are either untrained or culturally unfit to provide the level of customer service Americans expect in the U.S. These individuals were pompous, presumptuous. Imagine a foreign hotel staff being arrogant towards guests. Laughable. The “Continental” breakfast the property claims they offer is a joke. The pictures of the property/rooms are professionally and heavily edited and photoshopped. The hotel was virtually empty, Expedia extends me late checkouts (noon), but this amateur, incompetent and inefficient foreign staff made such a big deal to honor what their business partner (Expedia) extends to me. They made my stay miserable. I hope the property owners read this review and terminate and/or train these individual

We stayed at The Palms for a couple nights, along with some family that were visiting from Germany. Enjoyed the Resort, nice pool area. The daily breakfast had lots of nice options. The staff was great! We did have a problem with our A/C our first night. Sounded like it was on its last leg. Super loud noise during the night. The next morning, we reported it to the front office and they promptly moved us to another room! Now that is customer service!!! We would definitely stay here again.

“J” at the front desk is awesome. Kind and accommodating. Room was freshly painted and clean. Bed was comfortable. Great classic Key West architecture.

This was a great spot!! 10-15 minute walk to Duval Street. 4 block walk to free bus Duval Loop. Bikes on property for rental. The property was very clean and continental breakfast was sufficient. A good bang for your buck. Parking spaces are limited. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for bachelor party. Would recommend if you are looking for a central location

Near Duvall street

Great location I. Quiet residential area, 20 minutes walk to Duval Street. Has some parking spaces available on a first-come first save basis.

Loved the hotel, rooms were small but because we weren't there to hang out in the rooms it was fine. Clean rooms! I was looking for a hotel near Duval but this one was a bit far.

A very Ket Westy kind of place at a very Key Westy kind of price. So if you likenKey West and if you like paying high prices relative to what you get, this is a good place for you. A little bit off the beaten track from most of the things and places you wanna be, but not a terrible location, and also not great location.

Farther from Duval St than we expected. About a mile. Walkable... but there ubers is needed!

Very comfortable accomadations with friendly/helpful staff. We will come back this next year. Thank you to the Palms in Old Town Key West! Duval Street & Old Town close for walking and Uber/Lift services are very reasonable if needed.

Breakfast was outside at the pool. It was windy and rainy and there were no inside room for breakfast, that could be better.

Not the best, not the worst….room and shower were small for $$$ paid…breakfast buffet needs some life - it was the same 2 choices of fruit every morning, same breads, no eggs, no pancakes.
