Chateau Avalon Hotel & Spa

Hotel definitely needs an upgrade. Boutique pricing but middle tier quality. Not worth spending $200 plus a night. Limited spa options and no pool.

Spa service at the spot, it was great, but water heater was broken, no hot water, none of the elevator was working while I was there. Maybe bad timing but nothing was compensated for the inconvenience.

Room was great..only complaint was the elevator did not work and was on the bottom floor.

Spa was closed and didn’t get our mimosas like we wanted but was nice and quiet

Seems short staffed. Bar was not open, although scheduled to be. Key to room stopped working every time I left the room and I had to wait quite a while each time for someone to come to front desk & reissue a new key. Place is funky. Each room has a theme—mine was a pirate ship. Be adventurous!

The room was much smaller than expected. We stayed in Casablanca room and the bed was too big for the room. Could barely walk around it. Table and two chairs took up so much room you couldn’t hardly walk through the doorway. The jetted tub was nice but not worth what we paid. No handicap entrance to front lobby. Is that even legal?? Elevators were down. We will not be staying here again.

No place to put clothes. No real spa or other facilities. Excellent massage though

I wish the fountain was on and wirking but i was told they were doing maintenance so thats ok i loved everything about it just wish there was better food options at the hotel and prices were high for food and drinks

The room was great. Great location--staff very friendly and helpful. Only negative was the elevator was not working.

The hotel was an ok experience. Some things didn’t go very well…The elevator was broken, the room was mostly clean but shabby. Lots of scuff marks on the walls, bed posts, doors etc. While we did enjoy the large tub…there were only 2 large towels in the room.. it would’ve been nice to have more then that for 2 adults. The bed was incredibly soft and not very supportive. We also couldn’t see the tv from the bed. Further more in several places the hotel bar is advertised as staying open until 11pm.. but was already locked at 9:50pm

Staff was nice and handled things appropriately, but was unable to continue my stay and had to go to another hotel. The room had bed bugs. Luckily I noticed and was able to leave without bringing the bed bugs home. Asked facility how often they had experienced with bed bugs and was told about every 3 months. Nice place but will not stay again

We arrived and there were gnat like bugs on the bed and in the tub. The tub was wonderful but when you turned it on, all of these dead bugs came out of the jets. There was construction going on above us and people were walking/working all night. The fire alarm sounded 3-4 times and was stated to be the kitchen and or laundry room was on fire. There was no bartender as he had car trouble, so the main staff was taking care of the bar issues. We were planning a romantic stay for our 2nd anniversary. I was very disappointed.

The first night I stayed in the Roman room. There was quite a bit of hair on the bathroom floor and sink. The housekeeper left her cleaning rag on the shower chair in the bathroom. Also, there was something smeared on the toilet seat almost like an ointment...The second night we stayed in a different room and it was much cleaner.

I spotted small cockroaches around the bathtub in room 111, other that that is all good.

Room was extremely filthy had spiders all in the bathtub and was just not a clean room at all found several different things all over the room was very disappointed

We stayed at Chateau Avalon and rented the Egyptian room. We got moved to the New York penthouse. Not the room we expected. The room was dirty. Headboard on the bed had a thick layer of dust. Cracks in walls. Dirty, stained carpet! The bathtub is in the middle of the room!!! The fridge was outside the bathroom door! Whoever designed this room needs to find a new job! No place to sit and watch TV unless you lay on the bed! When asked about the room change was told the system went down and they just put people in whatever room was available! Not a good business practice! Will never stay here again!

It was comfy. But cleaned the hot tub myself. It was a bit grimmy.

The room that we stayed in had tub/shower combo in the main area of the room. Carpet butted up to tub and it was next to a window. The wood on the window pane was saturated with peeling paint from moisture and there was visible black mold on the mounding. The rest of the room had broken and scratched furniture. Overall impression was that the room was not sanitary.

Property is in desperate need of repair and updating. Furniture is old and scratched up. Shower curtain rod was pulled out of the wall on one side and molding around the window from the shower. Fire alarm went off every time we took a shower. We were there multiple days and never got our room serviced. Had to keep asking for clean towels at the desk but had a hard time locating a staff member every time. No robes in the room. Bathroom flooring was messed up and you could see the sub flooring underneath. Trash was left under the bed. The coffee maker was broken. Front steps are in desperate need of repair. For the amount of money we spent for this boutique hotel, we expected excellent customer service at the very least but we never received our breakfast order and didn’t get the iron/board we requested. Our keys stopped working multiple times during our stay. Again had to track down someone to rekey our cards. They finally turned on the fountain because there was a wedding at the end of our weeklong stay. It was nice to finally see that but they turned it off as soon as the wedding was over. Overall, it’s ok. Definitely not worth the amount of money we spent. Could’ve spent less at a Hampton and got hot breakfast every day.

Stayed here for one night. Beautiful property as seen when we arrived. Room we were in was outdated and a little dirty. Worst was the shower curtain liner was had mold on the bottom.

What a fun experience. You can immerse yourself in a jungle room or feel like a Roman emperor. This place was just plain fun and not much more expensive than a stay at anychain. Jacuzzi tub worked. Bed comfortable. Room very small. Front desk staff need better communication skills.

Property was well kept and clean. Room 114 was dangerous. There are steps that surround hot tub. These steps are also covering half of the entryway to the bedroom (poor design). There is only one light switch at the entrance to the room. So you have to navigate those steps in the dark when you go to bed and when you wake up. I can see a pretty good slip and fall. I’m not sure how that passed inspection

Stayed in the Serengetti Suite. It was ok. The stairs to the bed, which was upstairs were narrow. The tv was in the bedroom and only other place to sit was a rattan table and chairs. The back patio area was not lit up and no one was hanging out. The bar closed ar 8pm and not 9pm as it is posted in the room. The property manager showed us some of the other room and would most definitely book one of them instead. The staff we did meet was friendly, but there was not someone at the front desk all the time for questions. It would be a great place gor a big group of friends.

We stayed in the Jesse James room and although the room was really cute, the bed was awful!! My husband and I barely slept bc the bed felt like it was from the 1800s. I paid extra for the anniversary package and said we’d check in at 4. When we arrived at 5 they didn’t have our room ready and asked us to wait. They did give us a token for 2 free drinks while they got our room ready, but there was a wedding on site and the wine room was so packed with wedding guests we didn’t even try to get a drink.

When I arrived on Friday evening, my TV service and internet stopped working after about 20mins. No matter the channel you turned to, you receive a still picture with an error message. The thermostat in my room was broken as well. I reported the incident to the front desk attendant, and she informed me that the entire hotel was without internet and cable service. She also informed me that if I hold the button on the thermostat for 15secs it should work. The solution she suggested for the thermostat did not work. The next morning I requested to speak to a manager ( I believe her name was Ashley). After I told the manager about my issues, she said she would give me a $88 discount for the cable and internet being down and also for the thermostat being broken. The room rate before the discount was $285 per night. The manager never suggested anything to fix the thermostat so I had to stay from Friday to Sunday with uncontrollable temperatures in my room. Hopefully this was a one off situation, but as my first time staying here, I would rate my experience a 4/10

The room was so small and cramped that we could barely walk between the bathtub and the bed. The TV is so small and put on a wall where you can even see it if you’re laying on the bed. However, it didn’t matter if we could see it our not because the TV service was so poor it kept going in and out which made it impossible to watch. The mattress was perhaps the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept on. They tell you room service is available but apparently not when you’ve placed the order in advance (our food was never delivered). The worst part, there was ZERO parking because a wedding was taking place. I understand the guests needed a place to park but it was NOT cheap to book a 2 night stay and I at least expected a place to park. There are little to zero amenities in the room so don’t bother bringing clothes you need to iron OR hung up because the closet space only a foot wide. I stayed here previously and had a fabulous experience, but that was 2 years ago. I was really looking forward to going back but now I’ll never waste the extra money again. Just stay at the Comfort Inn (at least you’ll get breakfast there).

Rooms are tiny for the price, our room had bare wires exposed from the phone cord, the phone in the room did not work so we could not even enjoy the room service experience

Check-in was fast and efficient. Our room was right outside the lounge so it was noisy. For being a non-smoking venue, the smell of marijuana was pungent outside our room, along with the tobacco smokers directly outside entryways. Room was clean.

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on NYE 2024 with a one night stay here. We chose the Pirates Cove room. It was very clean and comfortable. We had issues with the payment at checking in due to booking through hotels.com instead of directly through the hotel themselves. They told us next time to not use this website, but I've booked through this for years with no problems.

I asked for stuff to be ready upon arrival. 3 hours after check in stuff i paid for still wasnt ready. I had to go to the front desk several times.

This place was ok, but the room we reserved isn’t what we got & we let them know & they said that Expedia was what caused the problem by overbooking the room so they let us see the other types of rooms they had left and let us pick one. That was nice but not the experience we hope to have or deal with.

First, the jetted tub in the room was difficult to get in and out of. There aren’t any steps for easier access as you have to make a 3 foot step up to get into it. The shower curtain was moldy on the bottom. We also had an anniversary package which included a dessert at your request. I attempted to order it Friday night, called the front desk at 8pm and no one came so at 9 I called again they apologized for that and still never brought it. I tried again the next night around 10, I called the front and no one answered. Waiting about 15 minutes I called again, because I understand they had a wedding as well so I figured they may be busy helping those guests still no answer. So I decided to walk to the front desk and found the lobby empty. There was a young lady in a room behind the front desk not appearing to be really doing anything. I finally got our cheesecake half an hour later. I needed to iron my husbands shirt and pants for our anniversary dinner and there wasn’t one in the room. When I called the front to ask if they offered any type of laundry service the gentleman told they did not so I asked if they had an iron that could be brought to my room and he said absolutely. When he brought the iron he did not bring an ironing board which I just find odd. Iron and ironing board just should go together right?

1-Phone was dead for room service, had to walk down to the front counter for all services 2-Wine menu was not accurate & sold out of the orders we asked & it took 45 minutes to tell us (this was at 5pm on a Saturday evening) 3-We were given a list of wines that were not on the menu to choose from & had to wait again for another 45 minutes 4-The drinks were delivered by hand without a carrier of any sort by staff, so i had to make multiple trips to take all the utensils, plate of cheesecake (warm), etc. 5-All services were marked up to premium pricing mark ups & received sub par quality product/service with no discounts offered 6-Sold out of bottled water at 9 PM & given a coffee pot to refill water from the bottom floor water filter machine 7-My wife found a half dollar sized spider in the sink that I had to kill 8- The thermostat in the room was not adjustable outside of 68 to cool or 76 to heat making the room rather uncomfortable 9- The alligator arm was broke on the decorations in the room 10- Limited entertainment space or organization for clothes in the room 11- The bar was closed and that was not advertised, staff notified us it was due to not being able to find staffing Overall, the price did not match the expectations that we had of the location. We were reluctant to ask for any sort of refund/discount due to the fact we had childcare so we didn't want to leave and we stayed the night. They seemed understaffed, understocked, undermaintained.

Enjoy my first time here was able to do a big tour of the whole place. Close to all shopping convenient places. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

You overbooked my hotel and thehotel cancelled my resetvation. When do I get a refund? The hotel says they did not take any money from the transaction.

The staff is amazing. They showed us a few other rooms as well. They are getting ready to start a full renovation. We got to see the bridal suite and it was truly amazing. We loved our room, we will be going back again next year for our birthdays.

Front staff were so welcoming! The shuttle to Ledges and casino was so convenient!

Perfect hotel close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Enjoyed our room with a jet tub.

Great location and establishment

The staff was friendly. Parking was easy. Located very close to the speedway and a large casino. Overall, Very nice venue.

Secluded and private. Great for couples getaway.

The hotel was very convenient to the race track and casino.

Brock was incredible. He took the time to give us an impromptu room tour and had tid bits about the rooms and property that was interesting. Hope he is around when we revisit. Great room and breakfast was well done. High marks all around. We had a excellent weekend

The breakfast cinnamon roll was not that great The bed was not comfortable

Would have liked free coffee and at least doughnuts. We were told coffee only on weekend depending who's working.

We were looking for a nice romantic getaway and really enjoyed our stay at Chateau Avalon in the Castaway Island room. We purchased chocolate martinis at the bar, cheese and fruit with a small sluce of chocolate cheesecake to share in the room and the bed and breakfast for the morning. The food and drink purchases were all wonderfully prepared and delivered in a timely manner by the staff. We will look forward to returning for another special date night in another themed room.
