The property was lovely. Staff were very helpful & supportive. Breakfast was very good. Our room was comfortable . We had a great view. There is no passenger lift but there is a luggage lift which helped moving luggage to & from our room.

Drake's was a nice hotel with a clean, well-appointed and comfortable room. It is located on the main stand in Brighton and provides reserved parking (for a reasonable fee). This is a great benefit in that area where parking is crazy! The only issue is that many rooms are located up several steep flights of stairs and there is no lift. If you have issues with stairs, double check the location of your room!

We loved the Drake! It was in a great location, the room was comfortable and the staff was amazing. There is no lift so you have to be able to climb stairs.

Thoroughly enjoyed a two night break at Drakes in Brighton.The hotel is well located on the front with easy access to the pier, pavoilion and lanes. We were slightly underwhelmed by the low key entrance and reception but the staff were delightful. Parking out the front was good and cost £15 per day. Our room was on the second floor at the rear which was very quiet but with a view over adjacent houses. Very comfortable bed and ample storeage but the bathroom was down a steep staircase of eight steps, not ideal at night. The room was very clean but the furnishings were tired and need replacing. Breakfast was very good and tasty. All in all a good experience but there is room for improvement in the furnishings.

The Hotel was in the perfect position with lots of amenities and walkable to most locations. The #1 room was so beautiful! It had a fee stair cases but easily accessible, two big windows sea view windows with comfy chairs to read by. The bedding had the best pillows and felt very decadent. Bring your hair net because the rain shower was straight overhead. Staff was excellent and bar was awesome! Will come again!

Great stay and location! Thing to remember is there is no elevator/lift. It’s all stairs so if you’re on the 4th floor you have a good climb. Staff was friendly and excellent!!

Perfect location on the seafront close to The Pier, Sealife centre and the lanes, great room and the team were lovely and really helpful. Parking on a first come, first served basis which we were lucky to arrive on a fairly quiet weekend

Room was clean and the freestanding bath with views over the pier and the sea was a great feature. However, be aware that people can see in from the street! The decor and furniture were worn down and smelled musty. I felt this was disappointing, given the price of the room! Some of the pillows smelled horrible as if they had never been washed, so I was unable to use these. There were bigger pillows, but it was uncomfortable sleeping on them. It was very noisy due to seagulls circling outside and the main road being right outside the single-glazed windows. I didn't like the bathroom as the shower was not separated, so the whole bathroom was wet, meaning going to the toilet on a wet floor and having a wet toilet seat cover. I didn't like this as it made it very inconvenient. However, staff were very friendly and accommodating and apologised for the pillow, thanking us for the feedback. Overall, great view, but I wouldn't stay here again as I think it's not good value for money.

I had a great four day stay at Drakes Hotel in late March 2023, with a sea view room. I was impressed with everything, from the friendly and very helpful staff, to the comfortable, clean, and stylish room. Every detail was thought of, and though I had a smaller room, the thoughtful design and amenities made it perfect for me. As well, on the days I didn't have the housekeeping staff in, they kindly left a package with additional supplies like the complimentary sparkling water and a fresh bathrobe, etc. Located in Kemptown, there's plenty to do and see, and well located. It's not far from Brighton Pier or from the pubs, cafes and shops of St James' Street, and onto the Laines and North Laines. Also, for the artists, there's the Black Dove Pub around the corner from the hotel for drop in life drawing classes. Seeing the street art and murals around Brighton was a big highlight, along with the many contemporary art galleries. Although a lot of the guests are couples, I felt very welcome even as a solo traveller and well cared for. Breakfast was delicious and a good selection of options. I would definitely recommend staying at Drakes and will do so again when I'm next in Brighton.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming and had a higher professionalism than I've encountered recently in London hotels! The room itself was spacious, clean and with a gorgeous view of the seafront and pier. I would definitely stay there again.

I had such a wonderful stay at Drakes. The hotel is clean, you can control the room temperature, I didn’t hear any noise and slept through the night, the staff were all really friendly (even drawing out a map of recommended places to visit) and amazing views of the sea. It was the perfect tonic for the quiet weekend that I needed, I left feeling refreshed. I would highly recommend Drakes and hope to return soon.

I booked and paid for a sea view and they said Expedia only booked a city view. The ergonomics of the rooms are ridiculous. They tried to update and modernize and compromised on too many things. It is not a good place. Closer to a 2 star

Hotel was only about a 10 minute walk away from The Brighton Centre which is why we stayed here. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. However, room 6 does not have a city view. It does not have any view!!!

Perfect location with a view of the sea. The room was small but really comfortable. I liked the bathtub near the windows. Shower was a wet room which I had never seen before. Nice amenities.

The shower was a great idea but everything got wet like the loo roll and the toilet seat, the price of the room and not to have a view was disappointing but is what it is. Staff were fantastic couldn’t fault them at all! Would stay again but ask for a better view of the sea or even the city

The hotel staff were supremely helpful and friendly, they let us check in an hour early upon arrival, we had gone for Easter weekend for my wife’s birthday, to which she was greeted with rose petals on the bed and a birthday card! On Easter Sunday, on our way out for the day, we opened our door to a lovely surprise of an Easter egg and came back to a refreshed room with fresh sheets, made bed and refreshed tea/coffee station, the little details made the trip so very memorable and Drakes will now be my first choice when coming back to Brighton. Thank you all so much for making her first trip to Brighton so friendly, pleasant and memorable! -Giovanni

Everyone was so friendly and hospitable. A nice confirmation call the day before, our room was ready early. Everything was clean and really well presented, knowledgable staff. On site parking and an Easter egg outside your door on Easter Sunday was such a nice treat. Thankyou!

We had an excellent stay, staff were friendly and approachable. Fantastic check in experience, the male on reception explained the map to us and the best places to go to and to dine at which was so helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great stay and location! Thing to remember is there is no elevator/lift. It’s all stairs so if you’re on the 4th floor you have a good climb. Staff was friendly and excellent!!

The staff are friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious with air conditioning. The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable with good quality pillows and bedding. Breakfast was great, along with the service in general! We really enjoyed our stay at Drakes.

Our stay at Drakes was great! You’re right on the beach and there is so much activity. You can walk to everything along the beach. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend

Hotel was only about a 10 minute walk away from The Brighton Centre which is why we stayed here. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. However, room 6 does not have a city view. It does not have any view!!!

The hotel was in a great location, right on the seafront and within a 10 minute straightforward walk to the Lanes. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and had a higher professionalism than I've encountered recently in London hotels! The room itself was spacious, clean and with a gorgeous view of the seafront and pier. I would definitely stay there again.

Thoroughly enjoyed a two night break at Drakes in Brighton.The hotel is well located on the front with easy access to the pier, pavoilion and lanes. We were slightly underwhelmed by the low key entrance and reception but the staff were delightful. Parking out the front was good and cost £15 per day. Our room was on the second floor at the rear which was very quiet but with a view over adjacent houses. Very comfortable bed and ample storeage but the bathroom was down a steep staircase of eight steps, not ideal at night. The room was very clean but the furnishings were tired and need replacing. Breakfast was very good and tasty. All in all a good experience but there is room for improvement in the furnishings.

Stayed here about 4 years ago and loved it. I decided that I would NEVER stay anywhere else in Brighton which I forgot almost instantaneously. After a truly disappointing stay at the Grand (an ironic title if ever I heard one) a Telegraph article refreshed my memory, and we returned this week. When it comes to hotels, it’s all about the bed, food, and service. If they are right, it's worth whatever price you pay. But when a place excels in all these crucial things as well as not breaking the bank, then they should be celebrated. Beds great, staff great, food great (eggs benny O.M.F.G) Hip Hip ho-Bloody-Ray. Stop reading this and book a room.

Good location with pier and sea views. We would highly recommend Drakes, lovely room and fantastic service. Room service cocktails were fab. Breakfast was delicious. All the staff were friendly and gave great service.

Staff were so welcoming and the room to a very high standard. The breakfast was excellent. Only minor issue was the very small shower/toilet cubicle. After showering the entire room was wet and there was not a lot of privacy fir toilet use (close proximity to the bed and could see through the glass doors).

The Hotel was in the perfect position with lots of amenities and walkable to most locations. The #1 room was so beautiful! It had a fee stair cases but easily accessible, two big windows sea view windows with comfy chairs to read by. The bedding had the best pillows and felt very decadent. Bring your hair net because the rain shower was straight overhead. Staff was excellent and bar was awesome! Will come again!
