Great location, clean smart room overlooking the beach. Parking in Brighton is expensive. We put the car in the car park next to the hotel for two nights at a cost of £60!

The room was clean and tidy, we had a view of the ocean and the Brighton i360. For the price it was more than I expected. Great location with only a short walk to Churchill Square and Brighton Pier. The central station is also within walking distance, approximately 15-20 minutes. The hotel staff was friendly and let us leave our bags after we checked out. The desk was manned 24/7 so you can leave or enter the hotel at all hours. All in all a good experience and I would recommend Selina to anyone looking to find cheap accommodation in Brighton.

A lovely hotel and the staff were really helpful. It will be even better when the restaurant is up and running again. Warning: public parking is really expensive!

Really lovely hotel, a bit odd not having coffee and tea making facilities in all rooms however free tea and coffee was available within the reception so wasn’t an issue. Staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Only stayed for a night, but all was well. All staff were down to earth and easy to talk to, bed was very comfortable, bathroom a good size. Had all the regular amenities and it was located right in the middle of town next to the pier. Only downside is the lack of parking, we used the NCP nearby, which can be costly.

Good location and friendly, but tired and shabby and therefore overpriced. Disappointed that the kitchen was closed, previously we had a fab breakfast but this time very limited choice and served in cowork area, not great.

The hotel and staff were lovely. The location is perfect as we loved spending as much time at the beach, and not too far from the lanes. The hotel was clean and provided you with all that you needed even completely coffee and water by the front door. I would have wished that the doors to the rooms closed a little quieter as our neighbours kept slamming it especially late in the night. But apart from that we loved our stay!

Udemærket hotel med nem adgang til by, promenade og restauranter. Vi have enetale for lidt større værelser og de var fine, med flot havudsigt. Stedet virkede dog lidt nedslidt og restauranten var lukket for renovering. Det stod også et mærkelig skilt på døren med at stedet var blevet overtaget af nogle andre. Lidt underligt. Personalet var søde og det var rart med 24 timers reception og rengøring hver dag. Morgenmaden kunne have været god, men betjeningen var virkelig sløv og langsom, og de var slet ikke klar til kl.8, til trods for en ret simpel menu, hvor det eneste der skulle laves var grillede brød med ost og skinke, og så kaffen. Det blev nærmest en konkurrence om at få noget når det var færdigt, og det var ikke en god måde at starte dagen på

Clean room, lovely hot shower (just need to run it for a little while, but then super!). Nice location. Staff on duty 24/7. Quirky decor throughout. The front needs a repaint, but the salt-air must be a challenge to keep things maintained.

Basic cleanliness was poor, beside tables were full of dust and bedsheets were sandy. Upon arrival, the room wasn’t ready despite arriving at check in time, so we had to wait an hour for it to be ready. Staff were nice but unhelpful when we had problems with our radiator.

Room and bathroom were spotless - I was here for two nights and although quite windy outside due to being right by the beach, the decor was lush and cosy! The bed was so comfy that I melted right into it. No problems with the shower either, water pressure is comfortable not too strong or weak.. I would add an extra chair for dining, especially if there are two travellers (my boyfriend was with me).

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lobby snacks on offer helped out. Only one chair in our room meant the other person was chillin on the bed- not a bad thing, just an observation. Street noise from garbage trucks everyday of our four night stay. Bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and maintained.

Room in fairly good state. On the surface clean but could do with a little maintance tlc. There were no plugs in either the shower or sink. The room looked a little scruffy. Headboard was not the righr size foe a double bed. Windows in room were broken.

Definitely not a chain type hotel. It had a quirky charm that was more hostel than hotel. That said, the room was clean and comfortable. The remarkable negative was the filthy windows… but great curtains that blocked early morning light. Breakfast was ok but nothing more

Cheap and cheerful, mostly did job for 1 night. Close by to everything and very near the seafront which is nice. Could’ve been cleaner, lots of limescale and crud in the shower and some hairs around the place but not awful. Staff were friendly and welcoming. My main issue was we had x2 drunk men knock on our door at 3am and then try to break in when their key card didn’t work (presumably thinking it was their room). When we spoke to them, they said they’d been sent here and tried to get inside again. Eventually they left but it was quite nerve wracking and could’ve been very dangerous for a solo traveller, of which there were many in this hotel. They did have a 24hr desk but we were unsure about leaving the room to go to it as we could still hear them shouting and stomping around outside our room/corridor for over an hour afterwards, so just gave up and went to sleep. When we told the desk in the morning, they were very apologetic but I can’t understand why the attendant who let them inside in such a state didn’t walk them directly to their room? Or even hear the commotion of them shouting as we were on the ground floor. Seemed a bit remiss of night staff and did mean myself and my partner didn’t feel too safe. I understand other people’s behaviour isn’t their fault but I wonder if it could’ve been prevented by the person at the desk, presumably why they have a 24hr desk.

Large closet, sitting areas, and a large, comfortable bed. Hairdryer and other conveniences provided. We loved it here. Beach is across the street. Everything we needed in walking distance.

No TV / speakers / form of entertainment in the room which you would get in more budget hotels so not sure why it wasn’t included here. Room was also very cold.

We stayed in room 402. It was a very spacious room with a queen size bed that was very comfortable there was also a couple of chairs a table and tea/ coffee kettle in the room. The room was nice and clean and had nice decor. Would definitely stay here again

The view from our room was amazing, had a sea view and it was absolutely lovely. A few things of note were that there wasn't convenient lighting near the mirror, and no main light, just side lights/lamps in the bedroom. The shower head was a trickle and took a long time to get hot. And the continental breakfast was incredibly underwhelming. Other than that, nice enough and convenient being near Brighton centre where we were going for the evening.

Great value for money, just missing a tv!

Spacious room with sea view. Definitely gave ‘hip hostel’ vibes. Was charged again for the room at check in despite already paying via Hotels.com however this was quickly rectified. The room is very large with one mid sized radiator, visiting in February the room was extremely cold, thankfully they’d supplied two portable radiators but it did take a long time to heat the room to a comfortable level. The room & views were 100% worth the price though and I would definitely visit again but perhaps in the summer.

We had a 4th floor room which was great. Very spacious and with an amazing view.

The hotel had everything I needed and nothing I didn't. Very good location, walkable from the train station and right on the front and the room rate was good from Brighton. The shower wasn't that great, possibly because I was on the 4th floor

It done the job for the weekend as it was a competitive price and good location. We did have the cleaner walk in on us whilst we were there and didn't tidy the room another day. We had water coming from the above room which I guess was a leaking shower from above. Quite noisy with everyone walking past. Could have done with a TV in the room. You can see it is being renovated so might be better in time?

Avoid! Dishonest allocation of rooms. Booked a family room and got put in a dorm. Very disappointing.

The hotel stay itself was pretty good, comfy bed and very spacious room for standard plus. There was some dustier areas and one window had a broken seal so the wind was very loud through the night, also the room above us’ floor was very creaky so very loud people were walking around. When we arrived at the hotel I checked in and was told it was a dorm room even though I had booked the standard plus room. I had seen this happen in another review for this same location so i was already a bit concerned it could happen to me too and it did. I’m not sure why my room was changed but the hotel receptionist at the time was very friendly and after I showed my receipt he switched us back to the room I had booked and offered to help with the bags up to the room which I appreciated. Overall the stay was pleasant, the location was good too but I wouldn’t prioritise coming back here due to the hassle of getting my room that I booked

From the moment of arrival, the staff went above and beyond. The room was gorgeous, spacious with lovely view of the ocean. The breakfast that came with the room was unbelievably great quality. Definitely coming back!

Pleasant little hotel with a lot of character and friendly staff, particularly David (Think that was his name) who went out of his way to help me.

On arrival staff were great and really welcoming. The room was amazing with incredible views of the West Pier. In the evening the shower only had cold water. In the morning the shower was warm. However on checking out we were told the manager had suddenly decided to stop the luggage storage. I'd even had a confirmatory email that luggage storage is available. This was a big reason why we picked this hotel, and the woman on the reception was being kind of rude in how she was telling some tourists it wasn't available. So sadly this hotel is unreliable and you don't get what you are promised. Real shame.

Pet friendly but other hotels near by offer the same service so dont bother. I would not stay there again for free. It is very run down than it looks on line. On a very busy road, It was like four walls and a bed on the motor way. Staff are very casual and often absent from reception and service is poor, had to ask for complementary items as they were not refilled even in communal areas.

Selina is in a super convenient location for the seafront and plenty of places to eat, close to a lot of bus routes. However, one of the nights I stayed was very noisy outside, even with the windows shut - it was quite difficult to fall asleep with a lot of yelling/drunkenness. However, the hotel itself is lovely - nice decor, nice simple breakfast, good shower, plenty of towels, good bedding, good wifi.

We were going to an event at the Brighton Centre, so the location of the hotel was perfect and easily walkable from the railway station. The hotel was quirky, being in an old building and clean. Our standard room was compact, with a comfortable bed, good shower and everything we needed for our short (one night) stay. The breakfast was also nice (not the full English) with tea, coffee, fruit juice, excellent yogurt, granola and toasted sourdough. We would consider booking again when we're next in Brighton.

I have a large shower at home so I'm spoiled, but the shower in my room was so small that it was hard to wash my hair without bumping my elbows on the walls, and I'm a pretty small person. So I didn't love that part, but I loved everything else so much! The location is ideal, everybody working there was so kind and fun, and the bed was really comfortable. Also the wifi worked in my room! This is the fourth place I've stayed in Brighton and the only one where I was satisfied with the wifi. Also, I love that they sell a selection of bottled mineral water in the lobby, it was so perfect for getting in late from a fun night out. There's a very good chance I'll stay here again in spite of the shower.

Nicely decorated and very comfortable & spacious, ideally located on seafront. Some parts of the hotel are a little run down (peeling wallpaper, marked paintwork) but it is good value for money. As it has recently changed hands there is room for improvement.

Small hotel with a big personality. This is the perfect base if you need a bed and a breakfast, and want to spend your money on other things than luxury. Staff is helpful and nice, breakfast is good (toast and coffee is excellent), rooms are clean.

+excellent location -no tv, fan or aircon in room. -bathroom had missing/broken parts: drain covers, flush button, shower rail. -Shower wasn't draining properly, so it became a foot bath in minutes, with long dark hairs floating out of the drain. -The only chair was uncomfortable when working from the room. -breakfast was meant to start at 08:00, but at the time we were told it would be 10 minutes late (I needed to be at work at 08:30) so had to skip it even though we paid for it. -Lights were off in the corridors until around 11:00, needed to use phone lights to find elevator button (no windows for light). -Didn't receive a receipt for our payment. -At checkout, the only person at the front desk said he didn't really work at the front desk.

Like some other reviewers on here, I was a bit wary of what to expect after reading some of the other reviews, but in reality, we received a warm welcome from the reception staff, and booking a standard plus room gave us a room with a sea view. Although there was no air-conditioning, having three sash windows in the room meant that we had air flowing through the room, and so despite it being one of the hottest weekends of the year, we were able to sleep comfortably. Street noise tended to quieten down around 11pm to midnight, although on the Sunday there was music down on the beach until 12.30, but it didn’t really disturb us too badly. Breakfast was included - it was a simple affair of various breads (English muffins, crumpets, bread, tea cakes) for toasting, along with butter and jams and spreads, Greek style yogurt as well as flavoured yogurts, granola and some cereals. Instant coffee and tea were available to make yourself, though I opted for juice and grabbed espresso-based options whilst out and about in Brighton. So simple, but it did the job! We were impressed with the size of our room, and the bed was huge and comfortable. Nice big clean shower although I would’ve liked more water pressure. All in all, a good stay at a good price. We would definitely stay here again.

Only stayed a night but it was just what we needed. Room was a nice size and was clean with plenty of fresh towels. It was quiet at night and i got a good nights sleep. The continental breakfast had a good selection of breads and pastries and cereals, its quite a simple breakfast but good for a light start to the day meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful and allowed us to store our luggage for the day while we went out to explore Brighton. Would stay here again.

Room was nice , clean has with sea view. No bottled water or tv. Breakfast was bread, cereal and bananas. It was ok but the bread was hard so not sure how fresh. There was nothing to pick bread up with. Was told to just use fingers. Outside of hotel looked run down but inside was nice apart from hotel toilets which were down stairs and had a bad smell.

Great location with lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. Receptionists were helpful and friendly. Not your standard breakfast but good choice and nice to have something different

Very nice beach front hotel - our room was massive with a lovely sea view, comfy bed, and nice feel to it, the only negative was the shower was slow to heat up - but was fine when it got going. Breakfast was pretty decent - the toasters were a bit slow, and the coffee wasn’t great but for the price couldn’t really complain. I would happily stay in the hotel again.

Very nice hotel. But there were a few inconveniences, first of all, the pressure in the shower was way to low, it took forever to wash the soap out of my hair, even my short haired boyfriend complained about the time because of the low pressure. The breakfast also contained only of fat and sugar, where were the cheese, ham and vegetables? The only spread was some sort of chocolate thing, jam and sirup.. No healthy way to start your day- unless you enjoy yoghurt and muesli (which I don’t). Otherwise we had no TV, which was fine by us, but we also had no fridge which would be nice when staying more than one night. The room was clean enough and the bed was nice- beautiful view and Nice looking room.

Very tatty. More like a hostel than a hotel. We booked bed and breakfast. Breakfast was very poor choice. A croissant, some sort of cereal pot and a cheese toasty. The rooms were basic but functional and the location was good but overall disappointed - definitely not as advertised.
