The Imperial is a bit run-down and old fashioned. The room was large and fairly clean but the carpet could have done with a good hoover. The location is excellent - very close to the station and just off the high street - but our room overlooked the back of a pub so we had some loud noise from the glass bins being filled and emptied and there was also some bollards which issued a loud warning every time they were going up and down so it wasn’t the quietest night. Somehow we had breakfast included which I don’t remember asking for but we took it and it was very mediocre - eggs and bacon overcooked, very cheap sausages and the continental side was very basic. If you just need somewhere to doss down for a night it’s ok but not somewhere you’d recommend exactly.
