The Reef Coco Beach Resort & Spa- Optional All Inclusive

This hotel was amazing, super clean and beautiful, sparkling pool. The beach was well maintained-cleaned and all seaweed picked up by noon. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, especially Kenneth, Samuel and Daniel. They get to know you and call out your names, even hugging us when we left. All of my pictures were amazing! We did not want to do a timeshare/program at the property but ended up doing a 90 minute presentation (including breakfast). In return for our time, we got 2 beach massages, 2 premium bracelets to visit the other sister property, top shelf liquor and hibachi grill for the day, and transportation back to the airport. This all was free for giving up 90 minutes! We had an amazing time and I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Booked my room about6 weeks in advance. When I got there they said there were no rooms so they sent me to there other hotel where there motto was beach on the roof. Nowhere near the beach when I got to the right hotel there idea of a great stay was to pressure me into joining some kind of travel club . Only 30000 dollars is up front . After spending 45 minutes saying no they finally got it. Recommend not staying there unless you like getting hounded.

The buffet was excellent; the Italian and Mexican restaurants were lacking. Fitness room well equipped, great staff. Beach was great.

Arriving at the property we were excited to get cheked in after traveling all day to get to Playa del Carmen. Upon getting checked in the rep tried to upsell us on the bracelets for access to the beach only bar (not worth it). The property is dilapidated and run down. Two of the 4 rooms we booked in total were located in the north wing. The rooms on the north side smelled like sewer. We asked to be moved and were advised that there was no other availability. The rooms we requested wth King size beds, and we were all given two double-size beds. We complained about the rooms not being representative of the online pictures and were told that the pictures are used as promotional advertisements (which is misleading). Again, the property and rooms are old and dilapidated. Finally they agreed to move one of the sewer smelling rooms to the south wing, We were stuck with our rooms since they did not have availability. The food and drinks were ok, nothing to rave about. Truly disappointed in our choice of hotel and our stay. The pictures are not representaitve of the property in my opinion. I will say some of the staff members were nice and accomodating. The representative at the front desk could use some training.

bed was too hard the staff wasn't very nice the service desk staff were very rude when asking for any assistance seemed like nobody cared about serving you.
