We have a lovely stay at the Reef Coco Beach. I definately recommend their shuttle service. We took the snorkel tour from the beach. The vis was not as good as I hoped that day, but it was well worth it to get to the reef. The people, servers, hotel, food, rooms, pools, private beach ! .. , shopping within walking distance, all fantastic. The only thing I did not like: people reserving their lounges at the pool when they were not there ! I feel that if you leave the pool, take your towel with you, and let someone else use the pool lounge. The early birds, can put their towels down in the morning when they go back to the pool. Some hotels will pick up all the towels at the end of the day, but this one does not. We were close to the septic air vent so it was a bit smelly walking from the elvator to our room, but otherwise everything was fantastic ! We will be back at the Coco Beach Reef very soon !

Do NOT get talked into the premium package upgrade at the resort. They do NOT provide top shelf alcohol and the people working in the private beach club tried working us for cash to let us in even though we paid for the premium package. The two big things for us were the top shelf alcohol upgrade and access to the private beach club/bar area. Neither of those things were honored even though our group paid the extra fee's. Would NOT recommend this resort.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. And every time it’s exactly like how I remember it. The staff is so helpful, it’s a smaller resort so you run into the same people building friendships and everywhere you go you are greeted with a hello. Some of the key selling points are its proximity to fifth Avenue, you can walk and there is no need for a tax Taxi, which saves you some money. Fifth Avenue has lots of options for shopping and eating and I couldn’t imagine having to take Transportation every time I want to get into the city. It’s easy to find a pool chair. The bartenders are very friendly. The staff at the spa are amazing and the check-in and checkout process was easy. Yulianna, Boris, Illena, Nadia, Edmundo, Zelia, and Cressy just to name a few were some of our standouts when it comes to staff. While I understand, there are bigger resorts, this hotel has character and charm, and build a community with all of those who are frequent guests here. I travel a lot and have met many people at this resort who come back time and time again and I will for sure be one of them.

Do not stay here! Food sucks and tastes like sargassum. Sargassum removal spots are north and south of the resort. Right by the kitchen so the food absorbs that smell. The restaurants are lead to believe they are open every day. Which they are not. Hot tub is a cool bath. Our toilet in the room was leaking urine and feces. Beds are uncomfortable. Walls are thin. There was a wedding the last night we were there and they were focused on that party rather than their resort guests. Made us go to a different bar. They allow vendors in the pool area to harass you to buy their stuff. Their timeshare pitch is horrendous. They don’t leave you alone and they’re there every single day! Before we arrived they told us sargassum wasn’t affecting their beach because they had barriers. Total lie. It would have been nice to not be lied to just for money. Oh and the weird part was on the morning we were supposed to leave, we had breakfast and we were locked out of our room after we got back. All of our stuff was in there. Each room key had been deactivated before check out. It was really suspicious.
