Location was great - walkable distance to restaurants and shops. Breakfast was good. Limited on site leisure options (e.g. no pool). Also would have been better if there wasn't a daily charge for the onsite parking - I might expect this for a 3 star or less hotel, but not a 4 star.

We were looking for a hotel with facilities for the disabled. This hotel provided all we needed, and more. Excellent food, helpful staff, and the bonus was a charger in the car park. Definitely on our come again list.

Staff are superb, very helpful and friendly particularly J@ck on the front desk. Location is perfect for central Cheltenham with excellent parking. Rooms are really smart, very comfortable beds with excellent linens. The only small minus is shower water pressure is low, but the bathrooms themselves are very smart and well presented. My go to place in Cheltenham and can sometimes be had at really excellent room rates that make it an obvious first choice.

Excellent location in a lovely park leafy area surrounded by European style cafes and boutique shops. Parking is safe and secure on the hotel grounds. Kyra and Alex on reception were genuinely welcoming and friendly. There's a lovely relaxing garden bar area with soothing music playing in the back ground. The hotel had a warm homely feel to it. I came away feeling I must come back here again very soon

Your dinner menu was distinctly average. You offered two types of pizza and burgers neither of which we eat. If we wanted pizza we would go to Pizza Hut or similar likewise with burgers, we would go to MacDonalds. We ate in Brasserie Blanc which was excellent. Your bar closed at 11 o’clock in the evening. I found this very odd for a hotel of your standing. Very disappointing.

I was looking forward to staying at The Queens but on arrival discovered that there was no outside area. The patio area was closed due to re-furbishment. The middle of summer seems an odd time to do that. There was no mention of this on their website. I told a few members of staff of my disappointment but got no reaction. I wouldn't have stayed there if I'd known.

Our room smelt like sewage. We reported this to reception and they sent housekeeping. The woman who came told us we were wrong, the room didn't smell, it was coming from outside and we should put the bathroom extractor on to get rid of the smell. The extractor didn't work - said they'd call maintenance, who never came. We closed the window and put the air con on while we went out to try and lessen the smell (as we had been told it was from outside). After a few hours we returned and the room smelt even more, so definitely not from outside (also we had been outside and the air did not smell like sewage). We asked about switching to another room and were told there were none so we had to get on with it and ignore the smell. Eventually after we suggested that this was not good enough we were offered free breakfast, a £28 refund and comped parking. Breakfast was disappointing: we had to wait to get breakfast, when we were allowed in the staff seemed stressed and inattentive, the food was bang average (saddest poached egg I've ever seen) and I would have been sorely disappointed had we paid £20pp for that food and service. We will not be returning.

This hotel is very out dated and need a lick of paint but more importantly the carpets need cleaning - stains all over the bedroom floor. It was clean, just old. TV did not work in the bedroom either which when you’re staying on your own isn’t ideal.

The service was amazing staff are so friendly. We only had one problem our room smelt a bit like sewers you can only smell it when you walk in once you’re in the room for awhile it’s sort of goes because obviously you get used to the smell

The Carpet in our room was not fitted correctly im a carpet fitter myself and with carpet not tucked in on the edge and up the skirting a hole in the floorboards so has you walk about you sink into the floor the carpet needs coming up floor repaired and then re fitted its not a big job about half a days work could sort this also it say City view all we had was a view of 3 tree tops chairs dirty stains on and a stain on the quilt cover for a room thats £200 a night without breakfast we would expect more Fiona on the front desk was amazing and really helpful and informative its a shame as this was a birthday treat for my wife and if it wasn’t for the fact that we had already made plans in town i would have asked for a different room or refund

Everything was perfect except we forgot to mention to Reception when checking out, there was a horrible drain/toilet smell in the bathroom. After we had used the toilet and sink it got less and by the next morning the smell had gone so perhaps the room hadn’t been used for a while.

The shower was so weak it was basically completely useless. somewhat ruined my experience. My bathroom was also very tiny and not especially nice. And this isn't really anyone's fault, but it was very very noisy, night and day. Banging, creaking, doors slamming, windows rattling from music from outside, running, shouting. I wouldn't stay there again.

The windows are not double glazed, and the room was quite noisy at night due to nearby bars and traffic. Otherwise, it is a historic building in a central location, and the room was spacious and clean.

Great location and area of architectural interest, close to restaurants, bars & coffee shops. Good coffee/tea facilities with mini fridge. Room had air con, but no means to make the room warmer. Impractical tiny bathroom really let the room down. You had to be 6ft+ tall to be able to use the make-up/shaving mirror, shower was walk-in with inadequate glass screen - floor got very wet and no hook to hang towel on for after shower. Switch to operate bathroom fan was high above the bathroom door - impossible to reach unless you’re very tall or stand on a chair! Not impressed.

Overall, a poor experience and certainly not the claimed Boutique Luxury. We paid for a 2 category room upgrade and got a room (223) that was very tired. Wallpaper peeling off the wall, stained furniture. The was no view at all due to textured toilet style windows and because it was an internal facing room of some metal bracing. There was just 1 chair that had arms! 1 person had to sit on a small stool or the bed. We should have stayed at the Hotel Du Vin for £40 less per night. We wouldn’t have needed to order bathrobes as some special treat. Not worth £100, let alone £160. The only positive was that it was close to better hotels and restaurants.

The room felt tired and needs an upgrade. The hotel is charging a premium and the room did not reflect that. Christmas parties were ongoing so there was loud music. Feel that if they wish to host parties, the rooms should be soundproofed. Loud music from nearby bars/hotels too. Not ideal when you have an early start!

Stunning hotel.. we were luckily upgraded to a suite which was spacious, very clean and well equipped. I think probably one of the nicest hotel rooms we'd stayed in for some time. The only down side was that the room was so hot, and when we opened the window, the road noise was quite bad. Will be returning very soon.

Queen’s Hotel has a lot of historical charm, but its age shows in the architecture. The floors throughout are extremely creaky and uneven—to the point where walking in my room felt unsteady. Both my bedside lights did not work which was a shame. While the experience was interesting, given the price and the fact im not 60 yet I might consider other options next time.

Room was clean and spacious and staff were polite. They turned off the heating at night though which made our first night unpleasant. Even though I called reception, I was provided only 1 electric heater which was not enough to heat up the room.But the next day I called again and they provided 2 more electric heaters that warmed up the room and the rest of the stay was perfect.

Room was too hot and troom 121 was ver noisy. No view and air condition units outside. Air conditioning was set at 18 wouldn't go any lower had to use a fan.

The hotel was ok and the room was a good size. However the hotel has been let down by a rather rude and obnoxious receptionist. Sadly I didn't take her name, but she accused me of lying about paying for two parking spaces! It was totally unacceptable and unprofessional and left a terrible taste in our mouth.

Lovely feel to a place that has been tastefully refreshed. Only downside was the young gentleman behind the bar who made you feel decidedly uncomfortable with his surly/rude demeanour.

My wife and I were on a trip with a group of friends that all stayed at Queens Hotel. We received notice that there was a problem with our particular room. The Queens Hotel staff displaced us for one night at a hotel nearby. While we were bummed to be away from friends, we were very understanding. When we returned to check in the following day, the staff had gone above and beyond to make sure our 1 night there was unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel for the service and location in Cheltenham.

Good location with good parking. Check in was not good. Our room number on the system was wrong so couldn’t charge anything to the room bill. Apparently couldn’t be fixed so had to pay everything individually by card. Air conditioning in bedroom was either not working or very poor so room was very hot.

Great experience in a stunning hotel in the middle of the city centre. Room was spacious and clean, with a great style and superb selection of bathroom products. The view from the hotel (the square in front) was great and the overall vibe across the facility is elegant yet approachable.

I was not told that there was a separate car park for the hotel round the back whenni arrived! The night guy just took my money! Had a ticket in the morning as i was leaving Breakfast was expensive bacon was hard as nails, like it had been cooked for hours! Hotel is lovely and in a great location. I am a regular visitor here. However the quality of customer service and breakfast quality has noticibly reduced since the last time i came

The room was very clean and confortable. The staff were all very friendly. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious. The only negative was that breakfast was served on very hot plates and my poached egg had a gel like consistency - very unusual.

Loved the location to city centre Beautiful hotel luxuriously decorated Cleanliness outstanding. Staff excellent . Dining menu quite limited for such a highly rated hotel Only complaint there is a restaurant on the opposite corner and the music is deafening. Also beware of the 12.5% service charge on food and drink Bit expensive and inviting gratuities on top .

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, as was the bathroom, liked the walking shower but would have appreciated a grab handle on the wall to assist getting out after shower. Wasn't impressed with the time it took for breakfast to be served, my friend had eaten hers, whilst I waited almost an hour for mine. The receptionist did apologise when I mentioned it at checkout.
