Absolutely superb hotel and complex. The rooms and service first class, the Japanese restaurant 10/10 and the bars, terraces, drinks also brilliant. Literally can’t fault this place. Will be back again soon

This is a beautiful boutique hotel set in an excellent location in Cheltenham with a lovely restaurant and gin bar on site ! One of our favourite places in Cheltenham. Just disappointed that we were put in an attic eaves room which was quite small and difficult to get to with all our luggage . Given we’d booked a Deluxe room for 4 nights we had expected to be given over of the many charming rooms on the first floor overlooking the Promenade .

The outdoor bar Gin and Juice was a tropical paradise with fun cocktails and a lovely garden setting. The Japanese restaurant was also excellent. Staff were very friendly and our room was large and beautifully appointed. We'll plan a trip to Cheltenham just to stay in the hotel again!

We have a lovely 2 date stay, we had a basement room and beautifully decorated. The Terrace and Gin&Juice were fantastic for dinner and drinks Breakfast and dinner were both delicious

Absolutely fantastic from checkin till check out but the jewel in the crown was the amazing wine bar below the hotel (gin & juice) staff were very friendly, the hotel overall was first class. Will definitely be going again.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel 131 The Promenade, recommended by a friend who also had a great experience. We opted for one of the high-end rooms, which was huge with an amazing and extremely spacious bathroom. The hotel staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was very buzzy, with bars and even a DJ outside, making us feel like we were at a beach club. As a couple, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The hotel is very fun and beautifully decorated. The only minor drawback was that the room was quite dark, even with all the lights on, and the corridors had some marks on the walls from suitcases, which affected the presentation slightly. However, apart from that, we will definitely be rebooking. Highly recommended for a vibrant and luxurious stay!

Excellent stay at 131. The hotel is so cosy but still with an urban chic vibe. Top quality gadgets in the rooms and beautifully clean. The service was so friendly. We got a welcome home from Filipe which was so nice. The garden bar was one of the coolest places to have a cocktail we found. All in all 10 /10.

Lovely clean room and hotel. Quite noisy! Expensive room rate to not include breakfast and a shame to only have breakfast in a marquee!

Beautiful property excellently appointed with luxurious bedding and soft pristine linen. Welcoming and fun staff. Excellent design and finish at the property with every care taken to meet every need.

Good stay. Room was small but clean and quirky in a good way. The draw back was there were a lot of narrow stairs which as we are in our sixties was a chore to climb. Staff took our suitcases up and down which was a big help.

Met some friends in Cheltenham, decided for an improv stay over as it was going to be a late one. Booked online and 10 minutes got the key for the room. This has been the 4th tim in 12 mo ths we have stsyed at this hotel and it is our go to. Super friendly staff, easy parking, ce trally located and the hotel has an amazing bar! The rooms are always well maintained and nicely decorated.

The room was amazing. Ceiling was at least 12’ high. Unfortunately, there were two problems with the room: it smelled musty and the toilet (a Crapper) did not flush well. By the way, the shower was incredible.

Gorgeous hotel! Room was very hot however we were provided with 2x Dyson fans to help. Attentive service, gorgeous decor and great attention to detail. Felt super luxury with Dyson hairdryers and Acqua di Parma toiletries.

The hotel itself was a hub for eating, drinking and socialising, which was great when you wanted to be part of everything but it did mean that we could still hear all of the noise & music when we went to bed at 1am. We fell asleep eventually. However, the room and facilities were super and we still enjoyed our stay. Loved the decor and the atmosphere.

Booked in advance for a weekend away for Cheltenham Races Trials day in January. Stayed over on a Saturday night, and although we were warned about the late night bar/club underneath the hotel our room was directly above this and did impact our level of comfort when trying to sleep! Maybe the hotel could invest in some better sound proofing to minimise the impact of this? Otherwise room was nice, but slightly cramped. Service was excellent and they had us checked in earlier than expected which was a great bonus!

Amazing hotel - great decor, great location being in the centre of Cheltenham with lots of bars and restaurants (and great shopping) close by. Our bed was super comfy and the underfloor heating in the stunning bathroom was a treat. The mini bar was well stocked and the staff were very friendly and accommodating- they were perfect actually. Only thing that would prevent a top mark review from our stay would be the noise - I guess it’s a great location for bars and staying on a Friday night it is going to be noisy into the early hours - but then we had the noise of the crashing of bottles first thing in the morning too which was a bit annoying. Overall a fab stay though!

We stayed for one night for a quick stop by in Cheltenham and were totally drawn to the stylish and luxurious finish of the hotel. It’s a super cool destination right in the heart of Cheltenham with a real vibe over the weekend in its bars and restaurants. We opted for the smallest room type (cosy) which was beautifully decorated and kitted out with premium bedding and quality products. Although the room was sufficient for a night, our main comment was that there were not enough surfaces to put things on especially for two people and it was a little too compact. The staff were really helpful and we enjoyed being able to order breakfast to the room from the restaurant. Overall, we would stay again but probably upgrade to a better room.

I stayed at No.131 for one night and wish I could have extended my visit. I was fortunate to receive a complimentary upgrade to what I believe was their superior suite. The luxury was evident throughout, with a wall-mounted Bang & Olufsen TV and exceptionally plush, heavy-duty towels in the bathroom. The room featured an Emperor mattress—arguably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Although the large roll-top bath was very inviting, the comfort of the bed meant that I only had time for a shower. However, the large rain shower head and excellent water pressure ensured the shower was equally enjoyable. I must also commend the Wi-Fi for its speedy and reliable connection. Overall, this was one of the finest rooms I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. Thank you to No.131 for the memorable experience. I look forward to possibly enjoying this high standard on future visits.

Truly one of the most incredible stays I've had during my many years of travelling. The rooms are exquisite and the hotel is walking distance to main shops in Cheltenham. What truly made our trip so special were the staff - if I could give the staff and service more than 5 stars I would. They went above and beyond to look after myself and my family and were more than happy to help with my 1 year old nephew's needs (e.g. warm milk). Thank you!

The location is absolutely perfect if you want to take a walk around town and there’s also the convenience of the restaurant and bars within the hotel too. Our stay was just perfect. We’ll definitely be back for longer this time. We would highly recommend to anyone thinking about booking!

Great location & the rooms are very nice. We ate at the restaurant & whilst the food was good the service was extremely poor, complete lack of attention & overpriced in our opinion. Being charged a service charge was also furstrsting considering how poor the service had been. There was also unfortunately an issue with the hot water in the morning which meant that we were offered anothwr room to use in the main building to shower in before we left. This was dealt with well by the manager however it was frustrating that the alternative room wasnt offered to use as soon as we raised the issue, we instead had to wait over an hour which impacted our plans for the day. We would stay at the hotel again for the location & the bar however we would not chose to dine here again.

This hotel is not very caring with the elderly or disabled. Young lad never offered to carry my 91 year old, disabled, partially sighted mum’s bag. At 9:40 in the evening we were advised that the bar was shut and we had to go to an outside bar, which was pretty impractical with my elderly mother. The alternative was to pay £5 to get someone to get us a drink from the bar. I have no idea why they couldn’t have seen the situation and simply offered to get us a drink (2 oranges juice and lemonades were all we were asking for) Then in the room the TV didn’t work. Someone tried to fix it for over an hour, but failed and in the end at 11pm I had to suggest they leave as mum was pretty tired by then At checkout no offer of compensation was offered other than a cup of coffee (I don’t even drink coffee) The whole stay was ruin and the staff don’t give a dam about you unless you are young fit and healthy.

I’ve stayed here before and I feel that it’s the best hotel in Cheltenham, lots of character and great bars and restaurants on site. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Valerie, who showed me round and offered me a choice of rooms.

Room was amazing. Hotel is a little unusual without a main lobby so just be prepared for that. The staff was really unfriendly and unhelpful. It felt like we were inconveniencing them by just being there. Not the type of service you expect for a nice boutique hotel like this

Absolutely amazing experience. Rooms were gorgeously designed and put together. Food at the Terrace was delicious. Staff were attentive throughout. Bars in the hotel were pretty creative and efficient too.

Had a lovely warm welcome at check in. He explained where to park, showed us to our room, which was absolutely beautiful. The room definitely had the wow factor. The toiletries smell wonderful! I felt very pampered after using them. There is complementary tea and coffee. The room was the perfect temperature. It is a short walk to the Town centre approximately 5/10 minutes. No 131 is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location, it definitely had the wow! factor for me and we would definitely stay again. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

On arrival was upgraded from family room , slightly reluctantly but I pointed out I should get an upgrade. They agreed and showed me to my room and gave me key card. When I return a little later the card didn’t work and I could hear people in the room. Someone had turned up and requested the room and they gave it to them. So unprofessional. The appropriate thing to do would be to tell them the room had been given to another guest. But I guess ethics go out the window when money is involved.

Beautiful hotel, great location, considering there are steps everywhere it would have been nice if our bags were automatically taken by a staff member and brought to the room.

Great rooms, bar, and location 😊

The interior was perfect however it is quite noisy as the window is not double-glazed. The staff has helped to carry to luggage to the room which was on the top floor. It will be nice if it gives a warning as there is no lift on the building. The food was nice. The services were very good. Thank you,

Lovely room with a view of a beautiful stone church. Excellent amenities in room. Room service provided us with a delicious breakfast. Very comfortable bed with a selection of pillows.Very gracious staff. There are some stairs you must climb to enter the building. Staff will assist you if needed.

Stayed here for my partners birthday. we had a VERY disappointing experience at the restaurant which to be fair ruined our evening. We are not complainers at all but when my partner requested his steak 'rare' and it came out well done it was simply not something he would make do with for the price (and why should you). We politely asked for a new steak and they then brought out the most awful cut of steak almost to say F*you for complaining, he literally complained that his hands hurt to cut it haha he worked very hard for every bite. Anyway we didnt want to complain again so just made do. Now I wish I had complained. The service from the point of politely pointing out that the steak wasnt rare, was awful. One staff member threw the bill onto our table without saying a single thing! then came back with the card machine 10 mins later and said 'ready', no ''how was everything''. Anyway we paid in full and left. We went to reception and if it wasn't for the lovely Filipe... honestly he was absolutely brilliant... then I would have plucked up the courage to go back and really complain. He asked us how our meal was knowing from check in we were going there and we felt comfortable to be truthful and say it was really disappointing. He took us straight to the gin bar and got us a drink. Came and visited us in the garden to again apologise. Then in the morning at check out advised us that he has taken the late check out charge off. Filipe made it for us, hes wonderful

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed in. Very chic, lovely atmosphere. Staff very customer focussed. We are in Yoku and it was hands down the best Japanese restaurant I’ve eaten in.
