If you don’t mind a large resort this one could be for you. The rooms were ok nothing great but comfortable and fairly large. The resort is large so you will do a lot of walking or waiting for the bus. There is one main pool, it is large but had to be closed twice for emergency sanitation (we didn’t use it because of the sanitation issues) we went to the bench instead. Because there is a seaweed issue in Mexico this summer the water was not as blue as normal but the staff work hard to keep it as clean as possible. Because we used Expedia as a VIP member we had a nice bottle of tequila waiting for us in our room and we had free access to all the other Bahai resorts. Also note that the rooms are in villas with room on the ground floor, 2nd and 3rd floors. There are no elevators so you might need to climb the stairs to get to your room. That was fine for us. All in all it was ok. I’d give it a 4star

Property is nice, clean and easy to find your way around. Rooms are good. Food was great! No poolside service or room service. I liked that they didn’t allow putting out towels to save loungers poolside. Swim up bar should play the same music as the activity pool, instead they played soft instrumental music.

Resort was well maintained, it is definitely due for some updates but it was clean. Pool areas were clean with great lifeguard staff. Buffets/restaurants had great food, lots of choices and every night there were different themed foods ( but they still had their regular choices which was great for my picky kiddo). rooms were cleaned well and also need some updates but were so comfortable! Bars were well stocked. Lots of daily activities and things to do. Our heroes were the kids club staff. my 8 year old wanted to go every day. He is shy so thay says a lot! He came home with crafts and would tell us about the million things they did all day. they would include the kids in the evening shows too which was so neat! Overall most staff looked like they loved their jobs and truly wanted to be there, which creates such a great experience. I felt like the staff went out of their way to help you and get to know you. Lots of way to pick people out there right now giving the food bad reviews, the buffet is huge and the place is busy so food is going to run out and get restocked in a timely manner. We did buy bands the last two days to try out the other resorts buffets and pools. They had different foods but less options and longer lines. pools were same just different shapes. Ws absolutely love having access ro the different resorts and their amenities. The staff was extramely friendly and helpful. We wish their was emegebcy golfcar at night as we had an emergency after hours and had to walk to the clinic.

Just finished a one week stay at coba. Overall experience was good. Staff were friendly for the most part, food was good, and drinks were great. Rooms are becoming a little dated, and beach was unfortunately pretty rocky but overall nothing that made the trip not enjoyable. I do want to say thank you to Ernesto at the sports bar. He made my friends and I’s trip so so fun. Took care of us, was very attentive, and just made us feel very welcomed. Overall, good stay and would recommend for someone who wants to save a little and doesn’t need all the bells and whistles of a luxury resort.

What a beautiful resort to spend our honeymoon! We purchased the 4-technique Mayan massage experience with Adalberta and Pillar, both wonderful humans and helped us truly relax! One of our favourite servers at the buffet (Miguel) was such a pleasure to meet. He made sure we never went thirsty, and even gave us little gifts to bring home! The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. We only got to try 2 out of 3 a la carte restaurants, but Portofino and Le Gourmet were ABSOLUTELY fantastic!! The buffet also had excellent choices, and fun themed special drinks upon entry each night! :) The silent disco was so much fun! Thank you all so much for making our honeymoon an unforgettable trip.

Property was nice, it was being worked on so half of it was shut down, including restaurants, which we weren’t aware of. We could only get one reservation because the rest were fully booked. We were told we should have made reservations before our trip but didn’t have the option so we had to eat buffet the whole time. Nice pools/waterpark area.

The property is very outdated and old. The Expedia VIP upgrade allowed us to visit sister properties that were more luxury and way better. We had roaches in our room. Picked this hotel because it’s advertised 6 restaurants. I do not like buffet. We were only allowed 1 restaurant reservation for 3 night 4 day trip. We had to pay extra to eat at the restaurant and we did because we did not want buffet. The guest service guy was unfriendly and didn’t offer helpful information. Made us feel like we ere bothering him.

We booked Bahia Principe Grand Coba because it was marketed as a family-friendly resort. Unfortunately, it fell far short. After returning home, I became extremely ill and was hospitalized with salmonella. During our stay, I stopped eating a burger at the pool bar after realizing it was completely undercooked. I checked the buffet the next day hoping it was an isolated issue, but the burgers were again visibly undercooked and made with very low-quality meat. I checked a third time with the same result. This appears to be routine, not a one-off mistake. The resort is only slightly cheaper than nearby options, but the quality drop is significant. This is not budget — it is cheap. Food, rooms, and maintenance all reflect heavy cost-cutting. Staff were kind but clearly overwhelmed due to severe understaffing. Service slows noticeably if you don’t tip to unspoken expectations, and the resort refuses to provide change smaller than 50 pesos. Our room was outdated, and the exterior sliding door was off its hinge and did not lock properly at night, which was concerning with children. All three of our kids contracted impetigo, which we believe came from the poorly maintained splash park, which was frequently closed and partially shut down. We spent our final nights at an Iberostar, and the contrast was immediate. This was the worst all-inclusive we’ve experienced after 13 trips. Choose elsewhere.

Food was ok, not good nor great just ok, not too many options for kids either. There was nothing to control mosquitoes on the property, and yes I know is nature but there are so many things now days to control plagues. Oh, and bed had mites! At least we were out of the hotel most of the time. Only good thing was that the kids enjoyed the kids water park.

We didn't get the VIP amenity. Our room was super damp, smelled like mildew and the air conditioner flooded our floor two nights in a row. Also, All inclusive deals with other resorts i have been to always include dining access to all restaurants and bars on that property and even surrounding properties if owned by the same company. At Bahia Principe, the restaurants were reservation only and we were only allowed 2 reservations or of our 5 night stay and access to the other Bahia Principe properties had to be purchased at $20/ day for the remainder of your stay. Very disappointing.

Very clean, organized, delicious food! We had gone to Bahia back in 2018 and we liked it! Specially if you have kids! They had fun in the diffeent pools! They loved the kids club! We decided to go again june 2025 and it didnt disappoint.. great customer service, there's lots to do at the resort no need to get out of there. We will be back!

The property and buildings are very nice. You can see though that it is hard for the property to keep up with areas that need work and touching up or just plain fixing. We were placed in a room that I suspected had water damage due to the roof leaking, and sure enough the first time it rained it was clear the roof is damaged. Property put us in room with clear mold that had a damage roof. They did graciously move us to a new room and quickly. It concerns me that we were not the only ones as we heard a couple other similar stories. Also, air conditioning throughout was working just not very well, so in the buffet area for me it was uncomfortable other family members were ok, but clearly AC was not working well. Its a beautiful spot with much to do, and helpful staff all around but it seems like they could put more money into maintaing property.

The check in process is very slow. We were charged a 240 peso environmental fee upon arrival which was unexpected. The resort does not have 2-bed rooms, but expedia website offers the option to select a room with two beds.

Buffets/restaurants had great food, lots of choices and every night there were different themed foods ( but they still had their regular choices which was great for my picky kiddo). rooms were cleaned well and also need some updates but were so comfortable! Bars were well stocked. Lots of daily activities and things to do. Our heroes were the kids club staff. my 8 year old wanted to go every day. He is shy so thay says a lot! He came home with crafts and would tell us about the million things they did all day. they would include the kids in the evening shows too which was so neat! Overall most staff looked like they loved their jobs and truly wanted to be there, which creates such a great experience. I felt like the staff went out of their way to help you and get to know you. Lots of way to pick people out there right now giving the food bad reviews, the buffet is huge and the place is busy so food is going to run out and get restocked in a timely manner. We did buy bands the last two days to try out the other resorts buffets and pools. They had different foods but less options and longer lines. pools were same just different shapes. We are Expedia Gold members who were to receive room upgrades when available, spirits in room...etc. Did not receive any of this. We were put in an old building that had NO ELECTRICAL OUTLETS. The light cancelling blinds were broken, the hair dryer didn't work. Our building faced the highway with constant noise. Expedia didn't let us know that a huge portion of the resort was closed off due to renovations. There were toilets and sinks, furniture, doors etc. all over the lawns as you walked the path to the beach...it was BRUTAL!!!!

When we first walked in to the room our Ac was on 26 Celsius and it took whole night to go down to 21 and we couldn't sleep whole night and that time we thought any way just watch some TV but tv wasn't working 😔 then I gave this review and early morning even though we had our do not disturb sign on they started knocking on the door and u need to remember we had a early morning flight from Saskatchewan and waited 1 hr standing at the airport to get to the bus and they told us we should wait for 1 hr to take us to the bus we have to stand wait for that nice start then after all this thing's we were just falling a sleep and knock on the door some technician came in and try to fix the tv and it worked for an hour and it went to the same way after then when we complained about Ac they were like 19 is our standard and I told them it is 19 in night and they were like 22 is our standard then I was like why do u have thermostat then, they had no answer they basically like just deal with it. Then after every morning someone for some reason knock on the door even when we clearly have do not disturb sign on. We have to ask for water bottles and they never fill up our cooler and one night when we get to the room there was no water bottles we walked to the lobby and asked for water bottles they said they can't do it till next morning. Except these many incidents staffs at the buffet was friendly and shows were amazing.

We recently stayed at this beautiful resort in the Riviera Maya and overall had a wonderful experience. The check-in process with Armando was smooth and welcoming, he was friendly, efficient, and very courteous. He went above and beyond to accommodate our family’s needs, which made a great first impression. Our room was excellent, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout our stay. The entertainment team was fantastic, bringing so much energy and fun to the resort. The only area that could use improvement is the dining and bar service. While the food itself was decent, the service was sometimes slow and could be more attentive. The buffet need more food variety. With a little more focus in this area, the overall experience would be exceptional. Despite that, we’re happy with our stay and would consider returning in the future.

The check in process is very slow. We were charged a 240 peso environmental fee upon arrival which was unexpected. The resort does not have 2-bed rooms, but expedia website offers the option to select a room with two beds.

It took a while upon arrival to get checked in and the people mover transport to the other properties on the resorts were unreliable, the Executive Club husslers were eager to jump on you when you went through the lobby, but other than that everything was wonderful. Having the hacienda on the property was a lovely extra touch and having the VIP bracelet that meant we could visit the other properties meant that we could move around to whichever property had the event that evening that we wanted to.

Second time staying here. Excellent staff all throught our stay. Rooms were very clean, plenty to do to keep you busy in all the resorts. Highly recommend the romantic dinner (upon request). We got engaged on this trip and the staff was great in helping my fiance plan the proposal. Bahia will always be a special place to us.

This was the worst vacation I’ve ever been on. The service was horrible. The staff were all horrible with the expectation of Manuel pech and Julia in the buffet. The workers all have attitudes and do not have any type of customer service skills. This was the worst trip ever I won’t ever return to Mexico

Okay, I'll start by saying the wait to check in was absolutely ridiculous, 3 hours on line and I'm not exaggerating. The Resort is drop dead gorgeous and the room service was on point. Bed and room was cleaned daily without having to ask. We were provided clean towels each day as well. My daughter is 8 and they accommodated us right by the water park so that was nice. The kid club had super friendly and attentive staff. The customer service sucked at the common areas, as they did not provide information on what to do on the premises or locally. I kept seeing these small trollies going in circles and began to ask questions, this is when they provided the information. The resort is actually connected to about 3 other resorts and you can access the amenities at all 3. This includes free access to scuba gear, paddle boards, and other fun stuff, just by taking a trolley ride right from Baha Principe to the others. I ended up finding out about 3 days in. NOT COOL, market the goods for Gods Sake! Make me want to return! The trollies can also take you to 3 different beaches, just ask the door men in front which goes where so that you can explore and have fun from day 1. There is also a trolley that goes to a shopping area. I was able to book Swimming with Dolphins, the Cenotes, Swimming with Turtles, Zip lining, and The Monkey experience- all for under $500 right in the lobby of the resort. The food was eh' but it was doable. All in all, my baby girl loved it. Me, not so much.

Al hacer el check in no había quien ayudara a bajar las maletas, fue un proceso muy lento, al llegar a la habitación (muy lejos del lobby) no abría la llave, tardaron en abrirnos, después no había toallas en la alberca disponibles… falta un poco de mantenimiento de manera general, estaba muy lleno el fin de semana… por otro lado la comida es bastante rica y variada. La comida francesa en restaurante estaba deliciosa.

If you don’t mind a large resort this one could be for you. The rooms were ok nothing great but comfortable and fairly large. The resort is large so you will do a lot of walking or waiting for the bus. There is one main pool, it is large but had to be closed twice for emergency sanitation (we didn’t use it because of the sanitation issues) we went to the bench instead. Because there is a seaweed issue in Mexico this summer the water was not as blue as normal but the staff work hard to keep it as clean as possible. Because we used Expedia as a VIP member we had a nice bottle of tequila waiting for us in our room and we had free access to all the other Bahai resorts. Also note that the rooms are in villas with room on the ground floor, 2nd and 3rd floors. There are no elevators so you might need to climb the stairs to get to your room. That was fine for us. All in all it was ok. I’d give it a 4star

Everything was great about this resort, great workers and nice restaurants. But I didn't see anyone in the reviews talk about the amount of walking. the beach is a 15 minute walk, not leaving the resort. to get from your villa to the lobby it's a 3-5 minute walk. you can take golf carts if you want but those can take a few minutes to get a hold of . everything else is great

This hotel does not have a beach at all, terrible location. The beaches are full of algae, and there is no sand, only algae. The carts get too late for the beach or the next hotels. I did not receive any perks for my VIP Expedia. There were no booking for a restaurants for dinner in the whole week of my vacation, they told me that the booking is ten days before arrival which is ridiculous because I bought my package one week before in Expedia and there's not mention about it; despite that some tables were empty at night at the Italian restaurant, they didn't offer an option for failing bookings. They simply said all bookings are full for the whole week at the front desk, so no failings booking system. There's just one buffet and snack bar at Coba for food. The Bar doesn't have enough staff, not enough options for drinks, and guests were standing in lines to get served at the lobby bar. Everything has extra charges, the games at the lobby (video games), shows, and they sell a pass to go to the other hotels. The SPA is too expensive. Some areas were under construction. I did not recommend, never go back to this place, very disappointed. So many hidden things.

Accommodations were very good. There is a lot of walking as the property covers a large area but the trolley system works well if you want a ride back to the lobby. The food at the buffet had a good selection and this is the first time I’ve gone to Mexico and not had diarrhea! The beach and ocean are not nice, very rocky and dirty.

good location, close to main attractions, clean property, good rooms with working AC and fan, food and variety in is good, drinks ok, coffee machine with good cappuccino, beach is long and clean, very low on weed, mostly around Tulum hotel area, clean water and no smells, better to rent a car at airport to see all around. The cons: AC broke first 3 days (4-5 maintenance requests), dinner reservations (ate every meal at buffet bc that was a fiasco), reserved pool chairs (what are you people doing for 6 hours?), rude tourists that don’t understand how a line or personal space work (seemed worse here for some reason compared to other places) The pros: buffet food was really good (only if you go within 1-2hours max of opening, otherwise long lines and running out of foods), staff, entertainment for kids, perfect location for xcarat parks/playa del Carmen/tulum excursions. It’s about 75 min from Cancun airport so close to all the places I just listed. Get the private transportation not shared bc it took MTS almost 2.5 hours to get us to the hotel w/ other stops.

The access to all normal restaurants requires reservation which we had only 2 times in 5 days. Very long time of waiting for a server to get a drink. We literally finished our food before getting it and you can’t get it by yourself (in the buffet or restaurant) from the bar without a server. Food choice was average nothing special.

Something mis-leading is you only get to eat for free at one resort restaurant once for free per resort stay. You can eat at the buffet as much as you want. But when I’m paying for an all inclusive that should mean also to all the restaurant options.

Resort was well maintained, it is definitely due for some updates but it was clean. Pool areas were clean with great lifeguard staff. Buffets/restaurants had great food, lots of choices and every night there were different themed foods ( but they still had their regular choices which was great for my picky kiddo). rooms were cleaned well and also need some updates but were so comfortable! Bars were well stocked. Lots of daily activities and things to do. Our heroes were the kids club staff. my 8 year old wanted to go every day. He is shy so thay says a lot! He came home with crafts and would tell us about the million things they did all day. they would include the kids in the evening shows too which was so neat! Overall most staff looked like they loved their jobs and truly wanted to be there, which creates such a great experience. I felt like the staff went out of their way to help you and get to know you. Lots of way to pick people out there right now giving the food bad reviews, the buffet is huge and the place is busy so food is going to run out and get restocked in a timely manner. We did buy bands the last two days to try out the other resorts buffets and pools. They had different foods but less options and longer lines. pools were same just different shapes. VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY RESORT!

The property is very outdated and old. The Expedia VIP upgrade allowed us to visit sister properties that were more luxury and way better. We had roaches in our room. Picked this hotel because it’s advertised 6 restaurants. I do not like buffet. We were only allowed 1 restaurant reservation for 3 night 4 day trip. We had to pay extra to eat at the restaurant and we did because we did not want buffet. The guest service guy was unfriendly and didn’t offer helpful information. Made us feel like we ere bothering him.

We booked Bahia Principe Grand Coba because it was marketed as a family-friendly resort. Unfortunately, it fell far short. After returning home, I became extremely ill and was hospitalized with salmonella. During our stay, I stopped eating a burger at the pool bar after realizing it was completely undercooked. I checked the buffet the next day hoping it was an isolated issue, but the burgers were again visibly undercooked and made with very low-quality meat. I checked a third time with the same result. This appears to be routine, not a one-off mistake. The resort is only slightly cheaper than nearby options, but the quality drop is significant. This is not budget — it is cheap. Food, rooms, and maintenance all reflect heavy cost-cutting. Staff were kind but clearly overwhelmed due to severe understaffing. Service slows noticeably if you don’t tip to unspoken expectations, and the resort refuses to provide change smaller than 50 pesos. Our room was outdated, and the exterior sliding door was off its hinge and did not lock properly at night, which was concerning with children. All three of our kids contracted impetigo, which we believe came from the poorly maintained splash park, which was frequently closed and partially shut down. We spent our final nights at an Iberostar, and the contrast was immediate. This was the worst all-inclusive we’ve experienced after 13 trips. Choose elsewhere.

Property was nice, it was being worked on so half of it was shut down, including restaurants, which we weren’t aware of. We could only get one reservation because the rest were fully booked. We were told we should have made reservations before our trip but didn’t have the option so we had to eat buffet the whole time. Nice pools/waterpark area.

The property was well maintained liked the room. The food was good, but was very difficult to get à la carte reservations without complaining. It was very disappointing that pools closed at six. The beaches had a lot of Sargasm and look like an endless job to clean up. They had renovations going on.

I traveled for my 40th birthday with my best friend. We requested birthday decor for the room prior to check in and it wasn’t done. We requested double beds this was not done. The room issue was corrected immediately and I contacted customer service regarding the decoration issue. Mateo in guest services was very nice and helpful. He was also able to get us a reservation at one of the restaurants as All of the restaurants were not open and we were not informed that booking dinner must be done 10 days prior to check in with the Bahia app. We only learned of the app a day before check out. Carlos and David were also very nice and helpful. I was provided a welcome dessert and bottle of tequila for being an Expedia Gold member which was nice. The pools close at 6pm daily and the limit the type of drinks you can have after a certain time in the evening with beer being the only option. I don’t drink beer. The ac was not cooling and on the third night it was leaking. Maintenance came out quickly to fix it. The property is huge but there aren’t many activities for late night. Best part was the spa. We both had 90 minute exfoliation, massage, and facial service. Overall it was just a very mediocre experience.
