The Regent Aparthotel

First impressions very good, attractive building, subtle colours, modernised but with original features. Friendly receptionist who let us leave our bags until check in. Great location. Room: spacious and very clean. Bed a touch hard but that’s personal. Lots of kitchen equipment which I’m not sure you’d use but if I was staying long enough to use it I’d definitely need more clothes space. No wardrobe but a small hanging area and no chest of drawers. Bathroom: very clean with lovely hot water. I’m short so being able to fit next to sink to use mirror a bonus. Large window area but no view as blocked by trees which also keep morning sun off balcony. Lots of sockets including usb and long mirror in a place where you can use it! Well done. Breakfast: tasty continental options, which were regularly topped up, plus a coffee machine and views over Parker’s Piece. Smooth check out and able to leave bags until later in the day. Two small disappointments: why are all hotels, including this one, so mean with the amount of milk they put in room? Sadly when we arrived in room my husbands bag had been damaged. We spoke to reception regarding this when we left. We were not expecting or hoping for compensation only for an acknowledgment and apology. Unfortunately it was implied that we had caused the damage as the only person who had had contact denied any knowledge. An enjoyable stay marred only by bag incident.

What a lovely little find in the heart of Cambridge. Perfect for an overnight stay. Check in was easy and the Receptionist and all other staff were very welcoming. We got there early so we could make the most of Cambridge and we were able to leave our suitcase there for safekeeping until our room was ready. Our room was overlooking the park which was lovely, if not a little noisy in the night when clubbers walked through there after closing time. The room was very clean and spacious enough for two people with a large bathroom. Continental breakfast included was lovely in their breakfast room overlooking the park. Pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt etc. I’ll will definitely book here again next time I come the Cambridge.

I chose this hotel as it was within walking distance of Trinity College where I was to attend a concert, and on the bus route to and from the station. The room was small but tastefully decorated, with a fridge, kettle and coffee maker. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with a heated towel rail and lovely walk-in shower, which unfortunately sprayed water onto the floor and there was nowhere to put toiletries. There was no storage, just 5 coathangers on a rail and nowhere to put a suitcase. The luggage storage consisted of an insecure area behind reception. There was no receptionist available when I arrived and after a wait and several phone calls I had to rely on another member of staff to check me in, although I has prearranged my check-in time 2 days earlier. In fact there are no receptionists available before 11.30am and they go off duty at 8pm. From then until 11pm, when the night watchman arrives, there are no members of staff available at all. All in all a bit of a disappointment and not what one would expect from a 3 star establishment, especially an over-priced one like this. The one redeeming feature was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Fantastic welcome, amazing location. Parking (Anne Street Carpark) was also very easy. Room was spacious and very modern - loved the large tv (which access to apps) and kitchenette was perfect. Can’t speak highly enough of this great hotel… I will be back.

Good value for money BUT see negatives below. Negatives Air con doesn’t go to low enough temperature and windows can’t be opened so had very hot and uncomfortable night. Check that the air con can be reduced to 16/17 if going on hot day. Left luggage and on collection no staff in reception with luggage room left open, 2 iphones on desk and computer with customer data left unlocked. All easy to steal. Could have walked out with my case other residents cases 2 iPhones. Asked for iron and board. Lovely staff brought to room but no cover on board so clothes ended up with ironing board grille patterns until I used a towel

Really nice central hotel - very clean, comfortable and quiet in the Park rooms (which I had). Only issue was the air-con made a weird noise even though it was off.

Room was much smaller than pictures suggested and faced onto a noisy Regent St. Worst part was that the room was dirty and dusty. There had clearly been an historic leak leaving a nasty stain on the ceiling, so the room feel grubby. The bed and bedding were uncomfortable so did not a good nights sleep. Staff in the morning were rude

Clean apartment in central Cambridge. Friendly staff and place was clean. Liked the convenience of kitchenette. Breakfast was basic but enough to grab something. Would stay again.

Well equipped, spacious room on the park side of the building. All staff I met were friendly and helpful. Kitchenette really useful and room well equipped. Downsides - stayed at the weekend and there was noise outside throughout the night. Could also hear people upstairs walking about etc.

Really nice room and a good breakfast - always nice when it’s free! Only complaint would be that the shower design was not good so we ended with a soaking wet floor after every shower

Fab hotel and just what we needed whilst visiting Cambridge. Easy locations with lots of lovely places to eat and visit close by. Didn't give 5 simply due to the design of the bathroom meant every time you had a shower it flooded the place leaving a swimming pool of a puddle by the toilet. design ideally needs looking into

This is a lovely Aparthotel in a great location in Cambridge. Only downside is the noise from the road. I advise guests to bring earplugs or even better, supplied by the hotel. Some noise also from banging doors in the corridor. A coffeemaker is provided in the room, but only with 2 capsules and no fresh milk available.

The City room was lovely and spacious, the bathroom is out new house inspiration! The only thing I will note is the walls are thin, I’m not sure if we were unlucky having big foot in the room above but from 6:30-10am we were awoken a lot by stomping and what sounded like furniture being moved, that was the only dampener as it meant we were very tired for the next day of our weekend away. The big perk was we could not hear any street noise however

I know Cambridge well so the location was my main attraction to the hotel at booking. After staying there, I can say it is a superb hotel with smallish rooms that are perfectly appointed, very quiet and have great aircon.

This hotel is perfectly located in the City Center. I had a great experience thanks to the polite and accommodating staff. The rooms were spotless, and I would rate the overall service a perfect 10/10. However, if you enjoy a hearty breakfast, this may not be the right hotel for you. While breakfast is included, it is quite basic. On the plus side, there are free snacks available all day.

The hotel is OK, but we had a false fire alarm in the middle of the night, that disrupted our sleep. We did not get any communication or apologies about it.

Located in the middle of town and 20 mins walk from the station and 10-15 minutes walk from Kings College chapel. Small but nice hotel with free cold breakfast and nice staff.

Friendly efficient service in a low profile modern value for money ‘apart-hotel ’. Excellent central location. My compact room on the park side was peaceful and pleasant and well equipped ( incl fridge but no micro). Good continental self service breakfast. I would happily stay at the Regent again.

The Regent offered excellent accommodation in the heart of Cambridge. Great breakfast facilities, superb staff. Easy access to all transportation, such a beautiful City.

Close to work and railway station. Park facing room was beautifully quiet. Breakfast was better than the large chain hotels in the area!

We really enjoyed the activity’s and restaurants available around the area , the regent hotel was in the perfect location to access the centre.

This hotel had everything I needed. The little kitchenette was so useful and the breakfast in the morning was enough to keep me going. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and highly functional. Would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and really lovely staff! The air con didn’t work, but it’s usually not needed in Cambridge. Wouldn’t recommend the breakfast, it’s just continental, not really worth the money. The rooms were very nice with good view of the park in back. It’s a bit noisy, you can hear a lot. Overall it’s a great simple place to stay.
