We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. While the hotel is starting to show its age and could benefit from some renovation in certain areas, it has been very well maintained. Everything was clean, tidy, and comfortable throughout our stay. The biggest highlight was the complimentary shuttle service. It was absolutely fantastic and took us to nearby attractions and the train station, then picked us up again. The service operated between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and made getting around Hakone incredibly easy. It was one of the best services we experienced during our trip. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hakone.

Staff knew who I was and were attentive to our needs from the moment we walked in the door. Hakone is a wonderful and relaxing location and the resort has a wonderful private spa where you can enjoy the hot springs in comfort.

Stayed 1 night

We stayed only one night at this hotel. During check-in, we received a rather unpleasant welcome that was below the standard one would expect from a hotel in this category. We were poorly attended by an older staff member who seemed stressed, rude, and impatient. Aside from that, we had a very pleasant stay. We did not end up using the onsen, although we were told it is an excellent experience. PROS: * The room was huge, and we enjoyed a beautiful view from it. * Excellent bed linens and bath towels. * We received a welcome drink and another complimentary drink if we chose to dine at the hotel restaurant (which we did). * The hotel restaurant is very good, and the Wagyu beef was delicious. * Excellent shuttle service to and from Gora (you need to call in advance). * Very spacious bathroom, with a separate and equally spacious toilet area. * Wonderful breakfast. CONS: * There is nowhere in the bathroom to hang towels, not even the hand towel, which makes the space less practical to use. * The hotel did not provide any information in advance explaining how to use the shuttle service to reach the property. To make matters worse, the hotel never replied to an email I sent approximately six hours before my arrival requesting information about the shuttle service.
