Motel 6-Anchorage, AK - Midtown

Its a Motel 6, but a pretty good one!

The motel was clean, newly renovated. It was close to the airport and the shuttle was prompt. It was also s short distance from places downtown Anchorage and the staff was very pleasant, helpful and check in/process was easy.

Another good stay here, 2nd stay in the same week. Again convenient for our trip with washing machines and dryers to use for $2 each and free airport shuttle for returning our rental car. Staff always very helpful.

Shower/bathtub faucet was partially broken. When you turn it on and set it all the way to the left to "hot", it was producing cold water, and was very wobbly, to the point that I thought it might fall off. We told the front desk lady and asked to have someone check it out, she refused saying there's no one she can send to resolve this at that time. We asked if we can use a shower at another room, we had to wash our toddler and were all sweaty after a long day hiking, she refused. She offered to transfer us to a different room, but we've already took out a lot of stuff from luggage and it would've been difficult to pack it all up and move with a toddler. Later, after fiddling with the faucet for a while, I discovered it was installed incorrectly, where the "cold" and "hot" directions were reversed, and you had to turn it slightly to "cold" for hot water to flow. Shows the quality of personnel they hire to install something as basic as a faucet, and the indifference of the receptionist who didn't even bother coming up to the room to at least glance at the issue to see if there was anything else she could do. There was no shampoo, only bar soap. Very unpleasant to wash your hair with bar soap. One of the towels had multiple brown/reddish stains, was it dried feces or blood remnants? If you don't want to replace stained towels that cost $20, shows how little you care about customer satisfaction/reputation/ratings.
