Check-in was quick. They acknowledged our anniversary and we got upgraded to a nicer room without asking. Room is spacious, bed is comfortable. Hotel is showing signs of wear (especially the couches at Sphere bar). Gym was a decent size for an airport hotel.

Its in terminal 5 -well signposted and easy access to/ from terminal/ tube -retaurant is busy ,food is ok but service can be very slow at busy times -seem to have enough staff but need a couple of floor managers to recognise when customers are waiting too long! Bar has good small plates eg pork belly ,falafel but furniture /seatng is very very tired and tatty quite out of character with rest of hotel which is very smartly turned out !

Stayed here one night because of a very early flight from Terminal 5. The staff were impeccable throughout, incredible service. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet and the food at the restaurant was really good. It was a shame you have to pay £40 per person to use the spa though, I would expect to get access considering it’s not a cheap hotel. But other than this, it was excellent.

We’ve stayed here before when weve had early flights from Terminal 5 but it had been awhile since our last stay. I contacted hotel to ask about any changes to parking & pool and they replied very promptly. Parking fees understandably more now; which was fine but no pool & spa use is £40 / not included with room so we didn’t use Nevertheless, we had a great sleep, cocktails in bar and delicious dinner for 2 ( sea bass and chicken with wine) at Vivre restaurant ( helps to make a reservation , which we did online but reception staff will also do it for you ). We had a king room & bathrobes provided don’t remember if this is same for standard room. Comfy bed & we bought same pillows for home as we liked these so much. Took advantage of overnight baggage check-in so early morning hotel checkout & walk to Terminal 5 security was a very relaxed breeze!

Good service. Tired and shabby in places. Didnt like how the bar menu prices were changed to be more expensive an hour after opening. It is very very expensive. If you like a glass of wine go to M&S in the terminal rather thsn pay the bar prices.

There was blood stains on the 'clean' bed sheets. Last thing you want to see after missing a flight and wanting to get a few hours sleep, paying over the odds for a room out of convenience of location. Disappointing.

No bath towels in the room - had to ring housekeeping and they took 15 minutes to bring them. Not good enough when time is tight at an airport. Kettle was left with yellow (cleaning fluid) in it. I just hope it wasn’t urine.

Warm welcome and helpful staff. Good food in the evening and a great selection for breakfast. Comfy beds and very quiet rooms. Out of 3 rooms we had in total for the trip there were minor issues with each one. In 2 rooms there were a couple of hairs in the shower and bath, one there was an empty toiletries container and the TV didn't work in one as it kept switching off.

The hotel needs attention in the rooms. They change us 2 times because of problems with the rooms. Electrical and water problems. Very convenient if you depart from terminal 5 Good breakfast and service. Rooms nos as clean as I expected. Beds are comfortable.

Expected way higher from brand and cost! Terribly dark room, dated decor and flooring in bathroom, shower door wouldn’t close water leaked everywhere. White towels were yellowish. Inconvenient location for light switches. Coffee bar area had no lighting. Bed had sunken insides and lump in the middle. Air conditioning was freezing when it was on and then room got hot, not consistent or good airflow. Hairdryer cord, not long enough when attached inside drawer. Could not manage to get on Wi-Fi Best thing about our stay was the amazing breakfast Probably the only good thing I can say

On arrival the shower was dirty with a huge ball on human hair left obviously had not been cleaned, was quite disgusting. Staff finely came to clean the bathroom but no apology

My husband and I had two very enjoyable stays at the Sofitel on two consecutive weekends. We were very impressed with the standard of service, the extremely comfortable beds, the quiet (quite extraordinary for a large hotel at a major airport!), and the food options, which although pricy, were of extremely high quality. In particular, the food at La Belle Epoque is first-rate! Our only (relatively minor) complaints were mostly to do with the fact that the rooms are becoming increasingly outdated. The fact that all the electrical outlets are on the opposite side of the room from the bed is slightly annoying, and some of the fixtures e.g. light switches don't work as they should. On both occasions the magnifying mirror in the bathroom was unusable - not only was the glass damaged, but the arm which was supposed to hold it in position was broken and drooping. In addition, I'm not sure why the rooms have to be so cold. We stayed during one of the UK's increasingly frequent heatwaves, yet couldn't get the room warm enough for our liking, even with the fan turned completely off. Finally, if natural light is important to you, this may not be the hotel for you. Most (?) of the room windows open on to a covered atrium, which means that even when it's bright and sunny outside, your room will be bathed in a curious half-light that's a little disconcerting . . . I'm taking the trouble to write this review because I LIKE this hotel and will definitely stay here again.

Clean room, good and quiet location, comfortable bed. Friendly staff but slow room service. Took over 1 hour to get new batteries for the tv remote - had to call twice. Food was promised within 30 mins but arrived 1 hour later. I would stay again due to the close proximity to the airport.

We did the online check-in in advance of arrival but still had to queue at reception to get our room. The man who checked us in was great (welcoming, polite, helpful) - it just took too long!! Decide to have a quiet night with room service, but - the menu was on the TV but our TV wasn’t working - they offered a paper menu but it would take 20 minutes to deliver it to our room. - we would then have to wait another 45-60 minutes for our food. We went to M&S for some cold food for our room!! This happened last time we stayed here (painfully slow room service)! For an airport hotel you would think they would be well geared up to provide quick room service.

Greeted by a very polite man and assisted to check in desk. Check in lady very friendly and helpful. Room very comfortable and peaceful night with no noise disturbance. Amazingly easy to get to airport.

A super convenient stay prior to flying. The room was great and the staff were very helpful. They had computer issues when we got there so it was a manual check in, they literally had dozens of staff to make it as smooth as possible. To be able to walk into T5 on the walkway is a very stress free feature.

I like and appreciate everything about Sofitel London Heathrow, except the lack of signage letting you know how to get there from the Heathrow Express at Terminal 5... This is the second time I've stayed here, but this time I had a harder time finding the hotel, from the Heathrow Express at Terminal 5, than I did 2 yrs ago... Better, meaning more, signage directing you to their reception lobby would greatly improve check-in after a long day of traveling.

Dinner at Vivre excellent! good service, superb food; vegetables outstanding! very pleased overall. quiet too. good gift shop: I bought all the necessary gifts quickly; there was a decent choice of tourist-oriented gifts; my friends liked what I gave them. Bathroom good but shower drain sluggish. good choice of bathtub with handheld shower as well as shower stall. I didn't go out so I know nothing about the exterior. I would definitely stay here again. on the expensive side but the value was there.

Ordered a Carbonara. Watery, bland and tasteless. Over 20 GBP? Really poor meal. Internet not working in the room. Came down to explain to one of the staff who just rudely told me it will work eventually and then turned his attention to someone else. Appalling behaviour and attitude. Room key failed to work 3 times. An apology from main desk but they lacked any real interest. Just not a good stay and really average service from a supposed 5 star hotel

Easy walk from the terminal is a real plus. The checkin can be busy so its best to pre check in on line to speed up the process. The restaurants get very busy so its best to book ahead. The La Belle Epoque restaurant although more expensive is worth the treat. Good food beautifully presented. A fairly hidden gem. Breakfast buffet is worth pre booking as well. Very good choice of everything breakfast.

The check-in process was fine, and the room itself was okay. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell far short of what I expect from a 5-star hotel. The bar served poorly made cocktails that need serious improvement. The restaurant and bar area overall felt more like a 1-star motel than a luxury property — grubby tables, scratched surfaces, ripped seats, and worn sofas. It’s disappointing that no one seems to have reassessed the condition of these spaces, as they are nowhere near 5-star standard. Even the first upsell email from the hotel was unprofessional — it wasn’t correctly formatted or personalized, which made me question where the “5-star hospitality” was. Another issue came in the morning. Despite having a “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door, I was woken up early by housekeeping working upstairs and a few doors down. They repeatedly propped open the doors with the metal security latch, letting them slam loudly against it each time they went back and forth to the cleaning cart. It was extremely disruptive. A simple solution like using a doorstop, beanbag, or the cleaning cart itself would avoid disturbing paying guests. Overall, this property is not living up to its star rating, and it’s in serious need of attention to detail, training, and basic hospitality standards.
