This hotel worked for us as we readied for our Celebrity Cruise. However, it is out of town in an industrial area and had no access to restaurants, shops or transportation. Fortunately, they had a restaurant at the hotel that we dined at that had a pretty decent dinner and breakfast. They also arranged a shuttle for us that took us to the port where we got on our cruise ship.

Excellent hotel for Cruise passengers. Was most impressed with shuttle service to the port (for a fee). Taxis are not the easiest to find in Ravenna so the shuttle was perfect. Like the tip I read ensure you book the shuttle as soon as you checkin as it gets full quickly.

Great hotel for the stay before/after the cruise. The shuttle books fast for the drop off to the cruise ports so make sure you reserve it immediately upon checking in and DO NOT be late they will leave as it occurred to a friend of ours. Breakfast was lovely.

Super Sauberkeit, Personal teilweise sehr gereizt, weil einfach zu wenig Personal im Speiseraum ist oder unorganisiert ist. Sehr freundliches Reinigungspersonal Beim Buchen war Spa abgebildet per Foto, dieses ist aber seit Corona nicht geöffnet. Ich hätte die genauen Bedingungen lesen müssen und mich nicht von Bildern täuschen lassen, war die Antwort...nicht zufreidenstellend. Leider sind wir an einem Tag mit dem Fahrstuhl zwischen dem 4. Und 5. Stock stecken geblieben. Der Notdienst kam und nach ca 20 Minuten waren wir wieder frei. Blöd nur, dass man eine Notfallnummer anrufen soll, im Fahrstuhl aber kein Handyempfang ist. Kann ja mal passieren.....sind seit dem nur Treppe gegangen. Salat und Nudeln sind im Restaurant zu empfehlen, Pizza eher mau. Zimmer war groß genug und sehr sauber.

Arrived to find that the advertised Restaurant, coffee shop and bar have very restrictive hours. If you arrive in the afternoon nothing is open! Breakfast is 7-10am and dinner is 7-10pm. Nothing in between. Pd snacks in a mini fridge. No coffee or kettle in rooms. Plastic glasses. A 15-20€ cab ride into town. This was a pre arrival stop before a cruise and I would not stay again. The one positive was the chef who made sure we had something Vegan for dinner and breakfast as nothing on the menu.

Unfortunately, the bathroom was dirty (black mould on the sealant in the shower), the AC in the room was not functional, and the hotel was incredibly noisy (there was a conference that went on in the lobby until midnight with blasting bass music like a disco, and the participants continued the party outside the hotel until 4am). The last part in particular was quite unacceptable but the hotel sadly offered no compensation for the situation. I was also not offered any Expedia benefits upon arrival, and the staff did not seem aware of them when asked. Note to potential guests that this is a long way from Ravenna, advise only staying if you plan to travel exclusively by car.

Terrible hotel in the middle of nowhere. Stayed before our cruise, nothing to do or eat around the hotel. My first room was really small and the AC was broken, the second room the AC was working but it was as small as the first one. Two twin beds!! Do not recommend if you don’t have a car!

Sono rimasta contentissima. Il check-in è stato rapidissimo e ho ricevuto un upgrade in un junior suite. La camera al settimo piano è stata favolosa con un letto King size, divano in pelle, televisore su piedistallo girevole, bagno grande con la doccia e la vasca. Ho dormito benissimo con i lenzuoli in puro cotone e l’aria condizionata che funzionava perfettamente. Camera moderna, spaziosa e silenziosissima. Colazione a buffet con ampia scelta di prodotti freschi. Staff cordiale.

Personale competente e gentile. Ristorante interno molto valido. Colazione ottima. Unica pecca, in camera si sentiva molto il rumore delle auto dalle strade circostanti, mi sarei aspettato una maggior insonorizzazione. Nel complesso bella struttura.

Our initial greeting by staff was cold. We were refused to sit in the Buffet area to have coffee while we waited until 2 PM to get in to our room and when trying to line up and do our registration guests were yelled at by the check-in staff. After the initial check-in the staff was somewhat better. The room was roomy, clean, and the bed was comfortable.

We liked the hotel but the dining room staff left much to be desired. We arrived at the restaurant before closing and were rudely turned away— no apologies and no help in finding other food. So eat before you arrive at this hotel! We did get the impresssion that all of the staff were kind of over tourist. The rooms were comfortable and the shower excellent.

Our stay was great! The staff were helpful. We arrived in the train station late at night and no taxi available to go to the hotel. We called the hotel if they can help us. Antonio (hope we got the correct name :) ) sent their company driver and picked us up in the train station. The hotel was clean, and the food was great!

Easy check in and beautiful hotel. Very accommodating staff with only one exception. The bar star guy was very rude when approached about getting only a glass of ice. It was late and we did not want a drink. He acted like he was wasting his time on us. Otherwise, I would recommend this lovely hotel and they offer a shuttle to cruise port for a reasonable fee. We will certainly use this hotel again.

The location was difficult to get to and there are very few taxis in Ravenna. The front desk staff was not helpful in getting us a taxi to the hotel or to our cruise ship. Overall it was a very frustrating and unpleasant stay. And the "free wifi" did not work AT ALL. No one seemed to care when I brought this to their attention.

We used the Grand Hotel Mattei for a 2 nights stay before our NCL Cruise. It was far from the Bologna airport but only 30 mins from the cruise port. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is wonderful. It is about 10 min drive by car from the Ravenna city center so not easy to just walk out to explore. Nothing really in the immediate area. However the staff is very helpful in calling you a cab.

The hotel was clean, staff very responsive and helpful, restaurant breakfast and dinner was good with lots of variety. Wifi worked. Lots of outlets. The only negatives were there was no iron (front desk provided one), the hair dryer in the room didnt work (front desk provided another one) and location. It was not city center and you had to take expensive taxis everywhere.

Stayed here overnight before boarding a cruise. The hotel was updated. Staff extremely helpful. Dinner at the restaurant was fantastic and affordable Located close driving distance to the train station and cruise terminal, however not close to anything else in terms of a walkable distance. Great for an overnight stay. If you want to experience more of the city and be closer to city centre or seaside maybe choose another option. Overall still very good option

This is a new hotel that is perfect for guests waiting to board a cruise in Ravenna. It’s clean and modern and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious, the only blip was the very slow service. We were served just bread no water and no one came back for 20+ minutes to take our order while we watched other tables seated after us get served. Other than that everyone was very nice and accommodating.
