Candlewood Suites Paducah by IHG

We were on the 3rd floor. As we walked down the hall to our room there was a yellow official looking paper taped to the door three rooms away from ours that said Room Closed, Imminent Health Hazard! Then our door was very hard to open because the hinge was broken. THe room itself appeared to be clean, and the bed was comfortable. The TV worked ok, and pullout couch worked for our adult son. That being said this was the only hotel around us that did not have breakfast included, which I did not notice when I booked it. So, we will not be staying here again when we visit relatives in Paducah.

The hallways were dirty. Was assigned three different rooms before we got.one that was prepared and unoccupied. Bed was fine but r oom smelled like Lysol. Was unhappy as this hotel rated 8.2 but actually closer to 5 or 6 rating.

I stayed in a suite on 4th floor. Room itself was very nice and comfortable. Kitchen in room was great. The only issues I noticed was a smell in the hallway that could have been food cooking but it was same smell every day when I returned. They apparently do not vacuum the halls daily. The hallway on my floor was littered with stuff down the entire hallway from the elevator to my room for the first 3 days I was there. The staff was very friendly and assisted me with finding a restaurant my first day. When I left every morning they were very friendly as well. The gym was your normal hotel gym. Equipment was in good shape. It is a 100% smoke free property.

Room smelled like armpit. Supposed to include continental breakfast. But there was none. Shower handled has rust and hot /cold was backwards….

The room was clean, looked to be a great place for any sort of extended stay. With two exceptions. For the room to be fairly updated, the bed was absolutely horrible!! I felt like I could count the springs in the bed. Sleep to close to the edge and you might just slide off. Secondly, I don't have a clue what was going on with the air. There is one thermostat, located in the bedroom, but it had no effect on the bedroom temperature. The "living" area seemed to meet the temperature setting, but the bedroom seemed to switch back and forth between heating and cooling. There was a sticker on the door that said something about the room being able to monitor coming and goings and it would adjust the room temperature accordingly (which seems creepy on one hand) but how do you know if I am coming or going? Basically the temperature was set on 72 when I arrived. I set the temperature to 68. But the thermostat never changed until about the time I was checking out, it registered 71. The room fluctuated between, "where's the cover, I need an extra blanket, to fight or flight, get me out from underneath these covers". TV in the bedroom worked fine, but the one in the living area would never connect.
