Had to book last minute and arrived late evening. Room walls were covered with stains and we had two cockroaches climb down the walls within first half hour we were there. Could hear trains most of the night and ice machine or some other item had an alarm going off for about two hours from about 5-7 AM. We were too exhausted to change rooms and just wanted to sleep but it was an exhausting evening.

I liked the modern look of the room. Didn’t like the lack of an in room coffee machine. But coffee in the lobby at breakfast was free and pretty good! The breakfast looked pretty decent but I went out for breakfast. There ate 2 cardio machines but I didn’t realize they had a gym at all. My shower drain was slow, which was annoying. And the water hadn’t gotten hot by the time my shower ended, but it was warm enough to shower comfortably. And the walls were thin, so I heard people taking and walking around, but they weren’t overly loud and I was able to sleep. I heard nothing the second night of my stay. You can hear a train whistle sometimes in the distance. The location was good for driving to campus in 10 minutes or so. I liked the small veterans memorial park nearby. There is a lot of stuff on McFarland down the street .

Was not greeted by my status, the room wall thermostat did not work, hair in the shower, lotion instead of body wash in the shower, only 2 towels, no garbage can in the bathroom, and no ice bucket or ice machine on the floor. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.

Difficult to review as the hotel is undergoing renovations. Our room was lovely and had a view of Denny stadium! Staff was friendly and helpful but the lobby including breakfast area, elevator and hallways are all still in process. For the cost, comfort of the room, cleanliness and ease of the place in proximity to UA, I would stay again.

This hotel is only good maybe for one night. I went to go check in and the lady behind the counter was sitting there eating cereal ( did nto even put it down to talk to me), after doing all the paperwork we went up to our rooms on the 2nd floor. We walk into the room and it smells like mildew and it looks like it needs a good old makeover. The worst part was the shower. Evertime you took a shower all the water went onto the floor ( no matter how many towels you used it would not clean it up) The toilet was directly next to the sink so my hubby ( 6'4 320lbs could not fit on the toilet lol. Who ever painted these rooms did a bad job and you can tell. The location is good if you are attending a UA game and the lobby area is pretty clean. they do not have room service so if you need more towels ( which you will because of showers) you have to ask. My son is a HVAC person and my daughter could not breath so he checked the vents and I almost got sick they were so dirty. I did bring it to the attention of the staff they said " they do not know the last time it was cleaned'

It was by far the worse stay ever. The room door had a 1/2inch gap between door and frame you could see in the room. When I reported it to staff the response was put a towel up. Then, there was roaches staff response again “oh we are down south roaches Are everywhere”. Horrible!!!

The place is a dump, there were bugs in our first room so we changed rooms. When I say bugs there was a giant water bug crawling across the floor as soon as we walked in the room. I pulled the sheets back in the 2nd room and saw brown crusty stuff all over the mattress. There were also cigarette burns and stains all over the seat in the room. The room was also very musty. I couldn't do it after seeing these two rooms. Also the walls and walk to our room was visibly dirty. Also while in the room, you could hear the person in the next room clear as day, so paper thing walls in there. The card holder they gave to the room was even dirty and looked like it had been wet before or maybe even reused. I gave the 2 star on the staff only because the guy working the front desk was very nice about everything when we encountered our issues. I can't say that about the rest of the staff as the manager was very difficult to deal with when presenting my issues. The place is a dump and I am glad I did not stay there and left to a different hotel.

Room was fine, bed seemed clean which is my main concern. Pillows were these lumpy, small square pillows not normal size bed pillows. Door to bathroom appears to be plastic. Tissue stuck to peep hole on room side of door from some earlier guest - guess housekeeping never saw it? The accent pillow on the bed was dirty - some kind of white stain. I first thought baby spit up but who knows. Wouldn’t stay here again. I’d rather pay a bit more for a more upscale property.

The only reasons I can’t give 5 stars are the lack of a fridge, the lack of a bathroom counter, and paper-thin walls. Also, streaming wasn’t possible, despite the apps on the TV, and there were no premium channels.

I have stayed at this location at least 3 times before. And it is still the very clean and comfortable room. However, I do not remember the hotel being so noisy. I could hear what the people in the next room were watching on TV plainly. And it seemed a marching band was practicing in the room above us with stomping back and forth well past 3:00am. And there was someone vomiting in the hallway. Idk if we just unlucky to have such noisy people or what as I don't remember it being a problem before

Weekend stay for sporting events at UA. Check in was easy, housekeeping quit earlier in the day so management/employees were having to clean rooms. Waited 5 minutes for room. Staff was apologetic. Clean rooms, TV was a little small (24"?). Beds comfortable. No coffee maker in room. Continental breakfast well stocked. Will stay there again. 5 minutes to University Drive.

I stayed in one of the little "suite" rooms. It was well equipped, the little couch in the room was comfortable and it even had a wet bar! There was ample desk space to do work on your laptop w/plenty of outlets to plug equipment in. Bed was adequate (I'm a bed snob). All in all; great room, especially for the low price (little over a Hondo for the night). Only complaint I had, and really not the Hotels fault, was the strong odors of Fresh Marijuana and smoked marijuana. I get it, I'm a cop, I bring my guns into the room out from my truck. I suppose a drug dealer has to move his stash into the room for the same reasons. Here is a difference though, I didn't shoot off my pistol as opposed to the dealer that fired up his stash. The world is going to Heck in a Handbasket. Room was great though!!!

Room hasn’t been dusted in a while. There was so much dust under the bed that when ac came on it blew everywhere. Internet never worked the whole stay. Towels had long hairs embedded in them and had to change our towels immediately after checking in. Other than those issues it was a pretty decent hotel.

This was our first time staying in a Microtel property. I think the key is you need to know what you are getting into. If you think this place competes with a Hampton Inn then think twice. It’s more on the Hotel 8 level. Not so good! Smoke detector broke and thrown in the closet. Room is small, staff not very friendly and difficult to find. Breakfast is first come first serve and when it runs out there is none. Both mornings of our stay, we ate close to 7am and one morning it was super limited and second morning there was little to nothing. The only thing that saved us is bringing our own bagels using their toaster. Again, I think your expectations just have to be clear when booking a place like this.

We traveled from Texas and arrived at 1pm and the woman at the front desk told us we would have to pay $25.00 to check in before 3pm. There were 3 cars in the parking lot!!! We couldn't believe her lack of friendliness. Horrible attitude.

Property needs a facelift. Checkin is suppose to be 3:00, couldn’t not checkin until 5:30, due to room wasn’t ready. Made it very rushed, had reservations for 6:15 The man at the front desk was working very hard to accommodate. He was very nice and apologetic.

We stayed here based on the reviews I read on-line. It was called a hidden gem. We stayed one night while visiting the University of Alabama with our daughter. This hotel was perfect for what we needed and will stay here again should our daughter choose UA. The staff was the best part of the stay. Upon check in, a sign on the counter said to call for service. The woman who came to check us in (I wish I remembered her name), was upstairs cleaning rooms because someone had walked off the job, and she was doing double duty. Despite this, she was pleasant, professional and in a way better mood than I would have been. She is an amazing employee and should be commended.

Ethan and Shawn went above and beyond for me and my girlfriend during our stay. We were moving across country and got our uhaul stuck in the parking lot. They helped us back it up so that we could get back out. They spent about an hour with us and had the utmost patience with us as we worked to get out of that predicament. I have been working in the service industry my whole life, and am currently a manager in it, and i can say i would love too have these two working with me. You should be proud of them both.

Night time guy was very rude and had to wait 30 min to check in. I even had to call the facility to get someone out. The reason i did not give it a 1 start was the ladies up front in the morning were alsome and very nice. Overall the place is not bad for the price. It was clean but not a 5 star clean. The niggt we staied was quiet. Area is close to many restaurants and shopping outlit. Only reason i gave a 3 was the guy at night and small rooms.

Conveniently located close to everything we needed, especially the University. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. The air was ice cold, water was hot and the beds were super comfy!! The breakfast was eh. Will definitely stay here again!!

I liked the modern look of the room. Didn’t like the lack of an in room coffee machine. But coffee in the lobby at breakfast was free and pretty good! The breakfast looked pretty decent but I went out for breakfast. There ate 2 cardio machines but I didn’t realize they had a gym at all. My shower drain was slow, which was annoying. And the water hadn’t gotten hot by the time my shower ended, but it was warm enough to shower comfortably. And the walls were thin, so I heard people taking and walking around, but they weren’t overly loud and I was able to sleep. I heard nothing the second night of my stay. You can hear a train whistle sometimes in the distance. The location was good for driving to campus in 10 minutes or so. I liked the small veterans memorial park nearby. There is a lot of stuff on McFarland down the street .

Check-in was easy and they communicated with me prior to check-in. I love that they had snacks and drinks (water and coke...not adult beverages) during check-in. It seemed that I could hear ever little noise in the hall, but not much they can do about that I guess. Everything inside seemed to be clean with no issues. It is convenient to many restaurants and the University of Alabama. Most importantly, I did not notice any safety concerns. Bottom line....I would stay again.

Near the university, clean, with helpful staff. A good place to stay for U of A graduation. Available breakfast was not good. No bread, cereal or fruit our first day. Just soggy eggs and sausage. Second day some fruit and cereal. Bring your own.

Do not stay here. All websites even their own say free continental breakfast. They DO NOT offer breakfast. I was told the owner discontinued breakfast last week and we were never notified. No compensation was offered either. False advertising if you ask me!

Quick and easy check-in and the staff were very friendly. We stayed Friday night passing through. Tuscaloosa was packed out because of the Alabama game but it was a pleasant experience and we were overall satisfied with our stay. The sausage served for the free continental breakfast was outstanding.

I booked a double queen room and ended up with a single with a sofa bed. There was hair in the bathroom floor and the room was extremely hot when we checked in. Also, the continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired.

No free breakfast, that’s one of the main reasons I picked this hotel. Front desk didn’t mention that when we checked in either. Overall the stay wasn’t bad, the bed is comfortable but we would not stay again due to the misleading information provided.

We have stayed here a few times and it's a decent hotel. Staff is friendly, and the place is clean. This time our bathroom was a little tiny, and the toilet was so close to the sink it was uncomfortable. The breakfast was horrible, not that expect a gourmet meal, but if that's the best you can do, don't bother with it. Just take the $2 worth of crap food off my room. Then I couldn't even get rid of it comfortably because of the toilet situation.

Quick stay for one night in Tusacaloosa, AL. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. AC worked great. TV was tiny compared to most hotels of this quality. Breakfast was ok, could have been a lot better. 7am was out kf biscuits fir the bisqits and gravy.
