Hotel Du Vin is a great place to stay it has all he qualities of a top class hotel. I would highly recommend the only issue I have is onsite parking or lack of it. Other that that it is pure class.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in mid December and decided to push the boat out. The most amazing bath, big lovely room and probably the best hote shower to day. My only qualms were that the windows didn’t open and bathroom window wasn’t frosted, so we needed the blind closed which was a shame. £25 per night for parking felt steep, but the car was right outside. Rooms have a cottage feel but still very much a 4 star experience. Very accommodating and very dog friendly. We could even dine with our dog as they brought the food from the bistro into the comfy bar area.

Overall, my stay at Hotel du Vin in Bristol was quite pleasant. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the staff were accommodating when I requested a twin room. The charming courtyard adds a lovely touch, and it’s easy to get dropped off or park with its driveway, even though it’s located on a main road. The bathtubs are spacious and lovely, and the bathrooms are definitely the highlight of the room. Some downsides: the rooms are incredibly dark. The lighting could definitely be improved. Additionally, some rooms are really close to an office, meaning you can see them and they can see you. You could close the curtains, but with the already dim lighting, that only adds to the lack of brightness. The staff seemed largely devoid of personality or banter. It’s possible this is just the direction from management, but it would’ve been nice to see more warmth. Also, their luggage storage isn’t secured, which feels a bit concerning. It’s a solid stay, but a few tweaks would improve the overall experience.

I’ve stayed here before and have been really pleased with the room. However, on this occasion, my (3rd floor) room felt a little tired (carpet threadbare in places), it was uncomfortably warm and the bed was too soft for my liking. On the plus side, the bathroom and walk in shower was excellent and also a large wash basin. Good choice of food at breakfast. Off road (council) Parking outside hotel is limited but lucky enough to find a space (£5.50 for overnight stay)

Lovely, classy place. Manages to pay homage to history and tradition while still affording all modern conveniences and an up to the minute design sensibility. Wine list is excellent, and the food is the best hotel fare we've had in many trips to England and Europe. Highly recommend. Be aware: you must call the hotel to reserve parking for your vehicle, because they only have a few spaces onsite.

Lovely hotel with a 'boutique' feeling. We extended our stay by a couple of days. The staff are welcoming and helpful. We moved from a standard room to one of the signature suites (Harveys) which is lovely. Being a frequent traveller there are one or two things that it would have been nice to have - such as a Smart TV so that we could log into our streaming accounts - but all pretty minor things really. Everything was clean and well looked after. On the whole we really enjoyed our stay there. The location is convenient for either the city centre or the harbourside area. If you want a good quality hotel but don't want to stay in one of the standard large chains, I'd definitely recommend Hotel du Vin Bristol.

Cool building but it’s a bit tired. Carpet is so worn and I had to rinse out the bath as it had not been cleaned properly. Very noisy road and beds are not particularly comfy. Dinner was very good in the restaurant and the bar staff were fantastic.

This hotel is beautiful. The reception staff were so amazing, helpful and friendly we can not rate them highly enough. The room was so so clean which is a blessing. Alll in all we had an relaxing, comfortable stay and will definitely be going back again

The room was clean, spacious and well appointed with everything normally expected. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of numerous dining options and the theatre. Outside was busy and quite noisy but inside the hotel the noise wasn't obvious. The staff were excellent; polite friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely stay here.

Really spacious and individual rooms, bed was very comfy, slept like a log. Staff were lovely. The roll top bath was amazing. The enormous walk in rainfall shower was perhaps a tad enthusiastic. The only bad thing I have to say is on such a large room, a 43 inch TV that has been lobotomised of every single smart function would be an issue if you wanted to watch anything other than live TV. It was a Samsung TV and we have up to date Samsung phones and there was no way to stream, miracast or otherwise link to it. Put a 65 inch plus, 'functional' flatscreen on the wall and that would be perfect. The sofa in the room had a couple of stains as well. Other than that a lovely suite for a two night stay. Much better than other places I looked to book in Bristol.

Great public areas, room nicely design with the HdV feel, no coffee machine though in room, got price you expect one. AC didn’t work properly even though temp was 27deg, suspect was being centrally controlled. So poor nights sleep annoyingly. Hosted dinner for 8, food and drinks were excellent.

A great base to explore Bristol. The downsidenis theres no parking. The hotel itself was full of interesting quirks. As a Bristolian myself (now living in Chester) staying at in a historic Bristol building felt special. The bed was huge and comfy. Our bathroom was amazing. Roll top bath and seperate mega sized shower. The downsie was the lighting, nowhere to put makenup on as the room was quite dark. All in all, one of the nicest Hotel Du Vin hotels weve stayed in.

I have stayed here many times over the years, but unfortunately the hotel is starting to fade and the room I was allocated was very noisy as the double-glazing was ineffective - the furniture was also getting a little bit tatty. It is a shame because the staff are always great - the group that own it just need to maintain it to a much higher standard or they will lose customers to rival hotels.....

Fantastic assistance from Sophia on reception the day before I arrived and on arrival date - thank you Sophia. Great service from the bar staff last night. The lady from Sheffield and the gent from Naples. Lovely stay, would definitely recommend the hotel.

Hotel is lovely and very different . Check in took a while as the sole receptionist was in the phone to another customer . Unfortunately she didn’t acknowledge me whilst on the leaving me feeling a little under valued . Room was amazing . My only feedback is I couldn’t get the key out of the door after unlocking and had to ask for help . Appears there is a trick to opening and locking the doors . The pillows on the bed felt small and not very substantial for a king sized bed . Also the gap between head board and mattress made for a distrusted sleep with the pillows falling into this gap. The staff were amazing , bar staff , restaurant staff in particular . Breakfast team were exceptional , attentive without being intrusive , polite, friendly and courteous . Great stuff . Food was very good both evening meal and breakfast . Felt good value for money . Some of the decor starting to look a little tired especially the outside seating area . But in the whole a unique and friendly hotel.

The staff were amazing , bar staff , restaurant staff in particular . Breakfast team were exceptional , attentive without being intrusive , polite, friendly and courteous . Great stuff . Food was very good both evening meal and breakfast . Felt good value for money . Some of the decor starting to look a little tired especially the outside seating area . But in the whole a unique and friendly hotel.

Overall, my stay at Hotel du Vin in Bristol was quite pleasant. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the staff were accommodating when I requested a twin room. I loved the look and history of the property, very quirky, though it was bit of a mystery tour getting to my bedroom up 2 flights of stairs and several narrow corridors. Named bedrooms are quirky but it doesn't give you an indication of how far you have to carry your suitcase!. The bed was really comfortable, the room spacious and the bathroom very luxurious. The receptionist at check in was really friendly and the staff at the Bistro just wonderful. Just some small things: Room service refers to the 'guest booklet' which is in fact a framed picture on the wall, took me a while to find it as i was looking for a booklet. Just a bit irritating as I had to go down 2 floors to reception to find out where the booklet was and then go back up again to check the menu. My room had a lovely french door overlooking the courtyard. I had it wide open as it was a warm night and I was woken ( and kept awake ) at 3.45 by guests who were back from clubbing and sat underneath for an hour. I didn't want to disturb them, especially as they were quite rumbustious, but it did spoil my night's sleep, which I needed. And finally, a really small thing, and I was possibly more sensitive to it due to lack of sleep, but when I checked out, dropped my key off at reception and said goodbye, neither of the 2 people at reception acknowledged me or gave me any eye contact. It was just a bit rude.

The reception staff were very helpful when we arrived. We had come to Bristol to visit my sister, and she was impressed that we'd found a hotel in such a nice area. We were twenty minutes walk from the station, ten minutes walk from Cabot Circus, and ten minutes walk from the O2, really an ideal location. We loved the look of the hotel, such an old and unique building, and we were so impressed by our room's bathroom; I normally shower but I had to try the beautiful bathtub. L'Occitane bath products are a nice touch. It was fairly easy to connect my phone to the TV to use Chromecast; it took me a couple of attempts but I soon had my Prime video account ready to watch. All in all we had a great stay and would love to come back sometime.

Most beautiful hotel ive ever stayed in me and my wife stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary checked in and found out we were upgraded to a deluxe room for free after booking a classic room. Room was beautiful lovley big walk in shower seperate bath tub. Big comfy king size bed. Breakfast in the morning was beautiful a choice of cooked and continetal. Would definality stay here again.

Loved that the rooms are all different, parking was closely (book ahead to ensure space onsite) staff were friendly and unobtrusive but always available. We dined in the hotel - the tasting menu was superb and good value. Loved every minute and wished we could have stayed longer!

Very comfortable king-size bed, pillows, and linens. Roll top bath and shower in a huge bathroom. Great toiletries and other amenities such as bottles of spring water. The food was very good, especially the breakfast. Everything was perfect and everyone was friendly. Even my nine year old was raving about it!

The conversion of this hotel from Sugar House to luxury hotel has been done with real panache. The rooms, which have names rather than numbers are really well appointed, sympathetic with the character of the hotel. The bathroom is something else! Service was on point, particularly Jakob and Ayesha in the bar. The breakfast was generous and tasty. I only stayed one night but, if i find myself in the area again, I'll certainly make a point of staying here.

The hotel is lovely and the staff were mostly very helpful and friendly. Breakfast choices seemed a little limited and the lack of free parking was an annoyance as it was very expensive and had to be repeatedly topped up which was inconvenient. Overall though we had a lovely but short stay.
