Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Royal Mile was priced ok for the area, but wish it had a mini fridge to put things in to keep cool. I was also very disappointed that they did not have a laundry facility at the hotel.

Quiet despite being located in Central Edinburgh. Convenient location for all of the tourist attractions in Central Edinburgh. No on-site parking, but discount at nearby parking. Breakfast was great and included! Rooms were nice. We booked 2 rooms for party of 5. They seemed clean however one room had a musty smell. Overall a good stay for just one night at the end of a week in Scotland.

This hotel is clean and in a convenient location for seeing the sights. The breakfast was okay. Main complaint is that we had rooms on the 4th floor and the elevator was out of order for our entire stay. After a long day of walking up and down the hills of Edinburgh the trek up to our rooms was brutal, especially for the older person in our party. There were a few times we would have liked to return to the hotel to change or grab a jacket but decided it wasn't worth it.

Room was very clean. Inquired about the laundry facilities which was the reason I selected this hotel. Very disappointed since it cost almost $400 US a night for a holiday inn express. The desk person only apologized and said they could send it out but no facilities would be in such a small hotel. Then PLEASE, for travelers sake, identify as access to laundry services NOT Identify as having laundry facilities. This is on HI Express to know what they can offer. I feel shortchanged. On a positive note, the desk ordered a taxi for airport departure and provided a grab and go breakfast for us. A holiday in.

Requested parking when we booked and was told there was parking available. The morning of our arrival I called to confirm parking was available. The reception told me that there was no parking on site but to use the NCO car park which was only 3 mins walk away from the hote and to bring the ticket to reception so it could be validated. I did this and asked the guy at the reception if the parking was fully validated. He said ‘yes it’s all done’. 2 days later we departed and put the validated ticket into the machine. NCP stated there was £39 outstanding for parking. I spoke with NCP control who told me that the agreement with Holiday inn express was to provide a 25% on parking, not that the ticket was fully validated.

There is no onsite parking or laundry available. The onsite restaurant and bar is just a walk-up counter where you check in. The offsite parking that's available is a 5 minute walk down the road, but the walk back to the hotel takes you passed individuals that are clearly on drugs and make you feel very unsafe. It's just not in a great part of town. For the price, look elsewhere. I wish I had seen more honest reviews before I booked.

Had a premium twin room on 4th floor. Was excellent in all ways . The window could be opened for fresh air, or closed for quietness. The parking is 10m from the hotel,in the multi-level garage immediately next door. Obtain a ticket from the machine when parking,then present it to hotel reception to pay (discounted) when retrieving the vehicle later. Would stay here again, no question.

The only elevator in the hotel was out of order throughout the entire period of my stay of three days. Guests had to carry their heavy luggages up and down the floors while checking in or checking out. Even though they did offer help to those physically challenged, that’s not a happy situation for everyone.

Great location for exploring Old Town Edinburgh and surprisingly quiet given the location. Rooms are tiny for 4 people, sofa bed too small to accommodate adults. We had 2 towels with stains on them and hair on bathroom floor. Beds much too soft. Rooms need more hooks for hanging towels, jackets, etc.

The rooms were designed smartly for a small space. Exceptional shower with great water pressure and easy to use shower head. Great soaps and shampoo. Largest towels I ever had in an economy hotel. The breakfast was decent. Great location. Very quiet!

Perfect location, just around the corner to the Royal mile. Friendly staff. Our room had a double door to the next room and we heard our neighbours talking, haidrying etc... The breakfast was ok, but we missed cheese/ham and vegetables for the sandwich. The bed was hard..Soft mattress missing.

Extremely small room and Bathroom. The lighting in the room was not enough so it was very dark in the room during the evenings. Only one elevator serving 4 floors meaning the wait time was long. The hairdryer would stop after 20 seconds and had to wait for it to cool down for another 20 seconds of usage.

We love this Holiday Inn Express. All the staff especially PANUWAT were great. Panuwat made sure we had everything we needed. He explained all the hotel had to offer. He was kind and patient. Because we are loyalty members (this is our 4th time at this property) he was able to get us a late check out for my senior citizen mother. Thank you Panuwat and IHG!!

The hotel was close to the Waverly train station and the Royal Mile. It was far enough away from the busy tourist area that it was quiet at night. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Got the day started well. Because of bad weather, our train to return to London was canceled and thw staff was helpful with extending our staff at the last minute.

The hotel was well situated near all of the attractions. About a 10 -15 minute walk. Breakfast is included with the booking. Had a good enough selection, eggs, bacon, beans, sausage. One thing I noticed was how unfriendly most of the front desk were, except for the first guy we spoke to during check in, I forgot to get his name but he was really friendly and even suggested a lot of places where to eat. But we didn’t see him anymore after the first day. We just stayed for a couple of days. The others didn’t even greet you in the morning and would even try to avoid eye contact.

The AC in my room was not working and upon complaining the night staff (Martin) told me to open windows which seemed unreasonable and I didn’t agree to it. He then told me to talk to Expedia because I booked through them. The hotel told Expedia that I need to check out at 12 in the night if I’m uncomfortable which made this hotel very unreliable for me. Hotel never issued any refund for the uncomfortable stay but Expedia did compensate me with some amount for the discomfort. Breakfast here was hot and fresh but they don’t keep enough quantity and don’t refill. They also wrap up atleast 30mins before the closure time. So we need to get up early to have a good breakfast.

The location of this hotel is fabulous. You are right by all the major attractions without being right in the crowded areas. You walk up a block and you are in the middle of everything. Staff and services were great. They let us leave our luggage there until our room came available. Breakfast was great (a full breakfast included in the price for the room). The only difficulty we had was that they gave us a handicap room. With 3 people bathing in the “open shower” it made a very wet mess of the bathroom. That was inconvenient!

Desk staff is amazing! The hotel is nicely located just around the corner and down the hill from the Royal mile. Only downside is some of the area around the hotel has people who were displaying antisocial behaviors (drug use, drunkenness).

Staff great, very helpful and friendly. Room was clean, comfy and warm. Good housekeeping team. And the bar is open 24 hrs, which is a bonus when you fancy that 7am glass of wine 😄 Breakfast was very good. Lots of variety and choices of hot and continental. My only small issues were: 1. TV in my room wasn't working 2. The coffee at breakfast was mingin.
