Lovely small boutique hotel on a quiet street in Edinburgh. A little bit tough to maneuver the stairs if you're an older person but we managed. The large room that we were in was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were very helpful with any questions we had about the area. Overall a very positive experience.

Lovely old property but as original windows not very sound proof even with shutters closed. Room was clean and bed was comfy lovely breakfast and the onsite parking a bonus

The rooms are very spacious and clean. The reception is very courteous. There’s parking available inside.

Staff were very pleasant and efficient, very helpful. Room was quiet and spacious and offered us the rest we needed from a long overseas flight. Dining area and bathrooms in hotel were down a level with steps and uneven floors. Also luggage had to carried up and down stairs to enter and leave the hotel! Great walking location!!

The property is about 20 min from town center, and it is easily walkable to there or via bus. Parking (or car park) was easy and we had no trouble finding space. Since it is a walk from town center, it's more quiet than being in the city if you prefer peace and quiet after a long day.

Pleased overall with our stay. Ensuite was rather 'tight' but plenty of hot water and toiletries. Large double bed was a bit too soft for us. Overall well situated with easy access to the city with an excellent bus service. A big bonus was the free parking.

Bathroom was in need of upgrade and not in line with rest of the hotel. Sink was cracked and repaired with mastic and bedroom Window took two men to open!

Great one night stay in a spacious single. Lovely shower room with complimentary toiletries - including conditioner (always a winner with me). Friendly and helpful staff, great location with excellent public transport accessibility. Will happily use again when in Edinburgh

Having to give my bank card details even though everything is already prepaid is very off putting and unwelcoming. Was told it was in case we used the mini bar or damaged anything. I insisted that they removed everything which is charged from the room. I never had my credit card so had to give my debit card details which I would never normally do. Was told I could not check in if I did not comply. The room had previous damage, cracked panes of glass in the window, both bedside lamps. Nothing stopping them from charging me for the damage that was already there. I am not comfortable with this at all. We booked the superior room which was a 4 poster bedroom and the room was also sent to us in the confirmation email. The room was not the same and there was no 4 poster bed. 2 people staying for 2 nights Yet, 1 hot chocolate and 1 bottle of water, 1 pack of biscuits. Surely it should be a minimum of 2 of each item. The shower mouldy and the fittings are damaged. One has come off completely. Clean room apart from the en-suite. Particularly the shower and very dusty radiator. Very comfortable beds Nice big room Pleasant reception staff despite my frustrations. They dealt with me well and were fully understanding. I would not stay here again due to them insisting on your bank details giving them the ability to charge you for things in the room.

Fantastic spacious rooms that were spotless. Amazing bathrooms and great friendly staff. We did a booking confusion error to sort but Nikki was fantastic in accommodating our group and quicky resolved our issue professionally for us. Brilliant

Run down and dirty. The matress was sunken so badly that I felt like sleeping on a tub. Got up with very bad back pain. Definitely not worth the money.

Big cracks in the shower floor tiles and had to hold the shower spray head. Hotel has a 4 star rating, not sure how thats possible.

I loved the high ceilings, the modern bathroom, and the extras in the room. Very clean. 10/10

Our stay at the Salisbury Hotel was very comfortable. The building is beautiful and nicely decorated. The room we had was small but had a great view and a window seat so we could enjoy the view. Walkable to many restaurants, and only a mile to the High Mile.

We stayed one night here and loved the experience. The hotel is located on a quiet side street, so there was no bothersome traffic noise—plus it’s located near a bus stop, which made it simple to get to. The building exterior is lovely and the interior inviting. The staff were very friendly and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The deep soaking tub was amazing after a long day. The breakfast in the morning was a delightful surprise. They provided everything you could possibly want. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation!

Nice room very small bathroom

A quiet hotel and easily walkable to the centre of town. Room was cosy but the bathroom was a little cramped.

Our suite here was amazing. Tons of space, beautiful soaker tub, and overall, we had such a wonderful time here. It was nice to have the couch and table and chairs for sitting and the mini fridge was great for keeping some snacks. Would absolutely recommend. The only small downfall was the Holyrood suite faces the street on the first floor and with our window open to keep it cool at night it was a bit loud for such a quiet area. We absolutely loved the location. Walking distance to the main heart of the city but just outside so it was quiet and away from crowds. Dozens of fast food and dining places. Would stay here again.

Beds were comfortable. .Location good, close to bus routes and sorry bud ride to the Old town center. Fan in bathroom did not work and bathroom very tiny. Room became extremely humid - had to open door and windows to clear the air.

We stayed here and used as our base for Kiltwalk2025. I have stayed here in 2023 and knew I’d be back again. Amazing room. Spot on. High ceilings and spacious rooms which we loved. Staff are lovely and full of knowledge. Beds are soooo comfy. Bathroom was huge. Will definitely be returning for a third time next time we are in Edinburgh!!

Signal on TV was awful. Main radiator didn't work so we used the small portable radiator in the wardrobe. Room was very clean and comfy, staff courteous and knowledgeable re bus routes and timetables. Parking available on hotel front. Overall, a very enjoyable stay at a nice, intimate hotel.

I had to arrive quite late and leave early. The reception sent me detailed instructions on how to proceed. My room was comfortable and clean.

Horrendous manager / owner - completely ruined our trip to Edinburgh. Cancelled our room infront of us with no proof of refund given. Criminal actions to be honest and reporting the hotel to governing bodies.

Walkable to the Royal Mile area while keeping a reasonable price for the room. An older building, but to be expected due to its proximity to the Old Town. Friendly staff. Lovely cafe for breakfast nice and close. A comfortable and adequate stay while staying close to Edinburgh highlights.

Slight further out than we had realised but getting into the Old Town area was walkable in 30 mins.

A bit remoted from center.

We enjoyed our stay at this property very much. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfasts was great, the bed was comfortable and we really loved the view out over the garden. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the property was very quiet but major bus routes to tourist attractions were less than a block away. The one improvement that could be made is to match the bedding size to the size of the bed. We had a king size bed but the duvet barely covered the top of the bed so it did not cover both of us adequately.

Room very comfortable and clean. Excellent location with 25 min walk to Royal mile and easy to get a bus. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

Convenient for the town centre and a very good selection for breakfast.

Salisbury Boutique Hotel is the perfect stay for anyone visiting Edinburgh who wants to be away from the busy center of town. Our stay in the four poster room option much exceeded our expectations. The room and bathroom were large, clean, comfortable, and had every amenity. The hotel breakfast buffet was a treat every morning with a spread of meats, cheeses, fruit, cereals, and yogurt. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and provided excellent recommendations for what to do in Edinburgh.

Hotel and staff were lovely. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms the shower pressure was a bit naff but that’s to be expected in a big house. Breakfast was okay, I didn’t realise the cold breakfast was to be paid after our stay. If I knew this I would have eaten else where as I don’t think it was worth the money for what I ate.

Location is great. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Free parking and breakfast was a bonus.

Second time we've stayed there. Clean, nice continental breakfast. Good location for centre and sights.

I stayed for 3 nights in quite a spacious room. Very high ceilings and large old windows. My room featured a large and comfortable bed, good sized bathroom and good heating. It was clean, had good water pressure and it was quiet at night. I had breakfast 2 out of 3 mornings at the hotel. It’s continental only. But actually reasonably priced. Cereals, tea, coffee, fruit, yogurts and more. Very friendly staff, also very funny. The location is great. There’s plenty of restaurants nearby, a huge park nearby too. Just a short bus ride into the CBD. Pleasant area too, nice old houses down the road too, made a nice walk. I had a comfortable stay and was very pleased. 👍

We were surprised that the breakfast was not included with our room. Booking through Expedia breakfast was not included, however we were told if we had booked using hotels site, it would have been. Otherwise it was a good stay.

We had stayed in a standard room previously but stayed in a superior room. Superior room is a great size. Breakfast was good. Parking appreciated and the staff are super friendly and heloful. Location is great too.
