The pool was amazing. Its an older motel, perfectly fine for simply sleeping and showering. Friendly staff! Great location. We'd stay again, you can't beat the price for the location.

Front desk girl Shivali was very polite and helpful, property and rooms very clean, and nice size. New clean shower, easy parking, and excellent Traverse City location.. Rest of staff unfriendly not even a smile. A/C units are noisy, and steel steps are steep. A bit disconcerting was construction or contractor workers sitting in their vehicles everyday for hours just staring at the rooms, and at my wife when we arrived or left the room. Very odd but when I confronted a couple of them it stopped. Overall a good value I would say. Pete

Second floor only accessible by stairs. Outside access to room. Main office reeked of cigarette smoke. No ice in ice machine. Room never got touched in our 2 day stay.

Check in was quick and easy. Room (deluxe king) was decent. Floor creaked when you walked. Fridge/freezer wouldn’t adjust so everything would freeze. Bed was comfortable, pillows nice, jacuzzi tub was clean and nice, water was hot and pressure was good. Breakfast was basic grab and go but good options and we enjoyed it. Pool looked really nice even though we never used it. One of the vending rooms was next to our room but ice machine was out of order. There was another vending room on opposite side of motel that had ice which was fine. Both vending rooms were so hot that candy bars were melted. Location of hotel was very convenient for beach and downtown access. Overall for the price we were happy with our stay. We really just needed a place to sleep since we spent all our time exploring the area.

This is an old property which has had beneficial upgrades, but still has problems. The only access to the second floor is via outside stairways which look like they would be hazardous in winter conditions. Our mattress should have been replaced a decade or so ago. Housekeeping service is done on request. We asked for it on the 3rd and 5th day of our stay and they forgot the first day. We had to call the desk to have towels brought up. The place is quiet, the staff seem friendly.

The pool area is dirty and lits of dead bugs. Also, the pool area is closed on Sundays, which is disappointing for the people to travel on weekends.

This property is very old and falling apart. was given a room i did not book, the fridge was completely frozen over. was not compensated at all. the shower was disgusting.

There was an old washcloth, receipt, and screw left from previous visitors in our room. The floor was dirty and stained. Two of my family members had bad allergies every time we entered the room. When I asked for towels I was asked to walk down to laundry to ask for them. I found that very unprofessional.

Daughters room had bed bugs. I had difficulty with the heating.

The room was humid. Even was it wasnt humid outside. I'm not sure how that was possible, but it was. We had double queen beds, both sagged GREATLY in the middle, leaving my husband & I, and my 2 daughters sleeping much closer than we initial anticipated. We stayed for 3 days with no towel refresh or housekeeping of any kind. Other than those issues, the room was clean and bright. The pool area was much nicer than expected.

Was at first disappointed to have a second floor room halfway between the outside only stairs, but room was very spacious and worked out ok.

Receptionists were friendly. The room itself appeared run down. Beds and pillows were too soft.

Stay met our needs. But the beds were worn down and sagging in the middle.

When walking on the balconey/ cat walk to get to the room, its so soft, you feel as if you are going to fall through the floor. We booked through hotels .com, got put in the very back room, the brick wall was our veiw, the light did not come on outside till it was 10pm so you could not see your footing out side and then the light stayed on and lite up the room all night long. Very unhappy with our stay for 296.00 a night. Very very over priced!!!!

Odd that our room had no windows. Though comfortable it felt like we were in a basement! Hotel pleasant and only a short drive from the water and town.

Overall the room was clean, spacious, and wee kept, however the toilet seat was very loose, the TV remote did not work, and the curtains did not completely close

The hotel was fine. Breakfast was basic. They really need new beds. Our beds were so worn you fell into a sink hole.

Be right back sign upon check in. Waited 8 minutes for someone to attend desk. Guy in front had booked but told it was already full. Bathroom gross. Hearing/cooling non functional. Told at check in breakfast wasn’t delivered that day, so not sure we’d have anything though listed as amenity. There were some prepackaged stale muffins and snack bars… some yogurt gladly. Room falling apart. Highly disappointed. It’s clear people don’t want to work here. No one home at check out either.

They accidentally gave our king room to somebody else, was given a Queen. We requested maid service each day and they completely ignored us, didn’t receive any for three days.They ran out of breakfast food by the second day. Worst stay ever.

My wife and kids recently stayed at this hotel. Keep in mind that she did have a reservation. She arrived 30 minutes early, room was not ready for the 3pm check in, that is understandable. They left and returned at 4:30, room was still not ready. She was then told it would be another hour. She left again and returned around 6:30 at which point the room was ready. When they entered the room it was clearly not cleaned. Beds were a unmade, a blanket was on the dresser, pillows on the floor, and the floor was clearly not vacuumed. The bathroom had no towels or shower curtain. She then went back to the front desk and informed the staff that the room was not cleaned. They told her there was another room being cleaned but would not be ready for another 20 minutes. She doesn't know when that room actually was finished because the staff never told her the room was done. At 8pm she once again went to the front desk and asked about the room. At this time, they said the room was indeed finished. By this point it was 5 hours past their 3pm check in time. My wife is not one to throw a fit so she kept her calm and never made a big deal about the issue, I would have made a very big deal about this if I were there. Also the staff never brought up the idea of any comps to make up for the 5 hour delay. At bare minimum I believe they should have credited her on the cost of the room for that night. Howard Johnson you dropped the ball big time and we will never return to your hotel again!!!

Overall our stay was fine; the biggest issue was that our room wasn’t ready when we arrived. Check in is set at 3 pm, and my husband and I arrived at 5 pm, so that we could get settled/showered before a dinner reservation at 7. Staff was friendly and advised they were understaffed and that room would be ready in about 10-15 minutes. It wasn’t ultimately ready until we’d been waiting for 45 minutes. I would have been more understanding if we’d arrived right at check in time, but given that we arrived 2 hours after check in and still had to wait almost another hour, I was a little annoyed. That said, rest of the stay was fine.

The staff at this property is amazing!! They are friendly, helpful, and go above and beyond to assure your stay is enjoyable.

Overall the stay was fine and the room was ok. It’s obvious there have been some renovations but it would go a long way if something was done to improve the staircase. It looks awful, rusty, dirty, and spiders and webs all over. The other problem is that it was impossible to get the room dark (2nd floor) bc the bright lights outside coming in the top and bottom if the windows. Lastly, and the reason I would not return is that when we arrived 20 minutes early at (2:40) we were told that while our room was ready, the hotel policy is to charge $50 for an early check in. The front desk attendant was very pleasant and the policy certainly isn’t her fault. But what type of policy is that - we just had to sit there and wait for 20 min to get checked in when the room was just sitting there empty. Very poor customer service!

We stayed 4 nights and asked for clean towels 3 times and never got them. We went to the office and asked and also asked the person cleaning the rooms. You cant expect guests to use 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for 4 days. I wont be staying here again.

The hotel charged twice for the room. Since they never answer the phone or return calls I am forced to work with the credit card company.

Upon check in, we were assigned to room 217. When we open the door to enter there was already people staying there! It was a shocking experience to say the least. We had to go back to the office ground floor carring our bags down stairs to the other end of the building from where we parked. By the time I got to the office I could barley breath due to having asthma. The beds have seen better days, also!

We cannot say enough good things about this property. Extremely clean room, comfortable bed, very quiet. We were very impressed with Adam at the front desk who was very friendly, personable, knowledgeable...he did everything above and beyond to ensure our stay was great. Highly recommend this property!

This hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the airport which was convenient when we had to get an Uber ride to and from the airport since the car rental place said they would be open when our flight arrived and they weren't.

Clean and quiet just what we needed for a weekend family trip. Close enough for short car rides to attractions.

The only real complaint I had is they are on the Highway/Speedway so you can hear cars all time of the night. Otherwise a great budget-friendly place.

Nice facility, clean and quiet. Location is excellent, close to beaches, shopping and restaurants. Staff is excellent; outstanding customer service!

Very convenient to all that TC has to offer

Rooms were very nice and clean. The included breakfast area was pretty standard, however the staff did not seem to be bothered to refill anything (including coffee). When I informed her the coffee was out she just continued to sit in her back room.

When we checked in the staff was fine. The next morning when we went to have breakfast, the staff was ok but not overly helpful. There were no plates so you had to put a pancake or waffle in a bowl & there was no salt for the hard boiled eggs. The only yogurt choice was vanilla & the area was very congested. I suggest not even offering breakfast because it was not worth it at all. However, I guess they want to tout that as a perk because that is one of the main reasons I chose this location but I won't do that again.

We expected a full hot breakfast not continental. Missed having fruit included. No microwave or toaster for bread.

Clean & comfortable at an excellent rate. Breakfast choices were sparse, though—cereal, toast, and yogurt plus some prepackaged muffins. Nothing hot, no waffle maker, no fruit.

Breakfast was below average. And when that is the case you need to make sure you don’t run out of coffee, at the very least.

Very happy with the room and the staff service. The breakfast was very basic. Nothing hot served. Just something to note if you want more of a full breakfast.
