Everything was terrific. Minus the East Wet Deck being closed for the duration of our trip. This heavily impacted the trip, as we booked at this facility for that pool specifically.

Main pool closed for renovation during Labor Day weekend and we didn’t find that out until check in. One of the elevators wasn’t working so it would literally take 10-15 to call the elevators.

High expectation…..poor delivery! My experience at the W of Ft Lauderdale was not what I expected from a 4 star establishment. I had a short stay at the W from Jan 5-7 2024. Upon arrival, I waited almost 30 min to get to my room due to issues with elevator. Only 1 out 3 elevators were working during my stay. There were no signs posted to alert customers of an elevator outage or issues & upon check in, the front desk failed to inform me. If I would have known, I would have requested a room on a lower level or cancelled the reservation altogether. God forbid I had a medical emergency on the 20th floor during my stay! That was unacceptable! Next, the cleanliness of my room was totally unacceptable. Dirty towels, stained/soiled. Dirty bedding with the mattress cover and foam pad covered with all types of stains of unimaginable fluids. The balcony floor was covered in dirt & grit. It was pretty obvious that balcony had not been swept or cleaned in weeks! Saturday morning after taking note of the balcony & soiled bedding, I sent my concerns & complaints to two managers of the hotel. I then notified the front desk. The gentleman at the front desk offered a $100 credit & I declined because that doesn’t resolve the issue for my stay and for future guests. I asked to speak with a manager about these issues but my name was written down on a sheet of paper & I have yet to hear from a manger. Unacceptable! The reviews compared to reality did not and do not match! Book with caution.

Stayed at the W probably a dozen times over the years. Disappointed this time. Service, cleanliness has gone down. Was greeted by a 60.00 a night valet charge. Had to unload my own luggage and take it up myself. Check in person was mildly friendly. Told him it was our anniversary and he barely acknowledged it. Elevator floors were dirty. Room was very nice and clean. Gym equipment was avg. they had two treadmills not working, cables broken on a machine and the floors were coming up. Overall lack of maintenance. For the price u pay not worth it anymore. Going to explore other options on the beach going forward.

We love the pool here! Unfortunalty it was closed for renovation. There was no warning of this during the booking process. The resident pool was open for hotel guest much smaller pool in the back of the building. Needless to say we did not go back there. I don't hate the W, I would have choosen a differnent hotel if i would have known the pool was closed. Next time i will call to make sure all amenities are available.

Rooms were clean - gym was good - staff very friendly and truly don’t need to go outside of the area for fabulous dinning . Spa massage was great however there are no couple options so they’re separate. Pool was always sunny when you face south to catch those rays and both Stephen Starr restaurants were delish . Late check out is at 2 .. overall great stay !

First room was so humid and smelled like mold. Moved during the middle of the night to another room because I was miserable. A very nice woman moved us to another room but sadly it was still humid and moldy. Water dripping all over the floors in each room, water running down walls. Awful. I went to bed with wet hair and woke up to my hair still wet. Will never come here again because it was awful and needs to be condemned.

The location is amazing. The hotel is in terrible condition. Needs a lot of updates. Rooms are old and smell. Our room had stained inside the shower curtain. I called every day and no one ever replaced it. It was disgusting. No hair dryer. Had to call for it. No shower get. Has to call for it. Parking is $60 daily. Resort fee $65 daily. So add another $125 a day.

This hotel left a lot to be desired. Our room wasn’t clean to our standards at all. Small details were overlooked. There were handprints on the frosted glass near the bed, stains on the comforter AND sheets. The couch was absolutely filthy. We had to call multiple times to get someone to come back and clean and were told they’re coming and they didn’t until hours later. We never received our welcome drink, or even a do not disturb sign so we were constantly woken up by housekeeping. The gentlemen at the front desk wasn’t forthcoming about the hotel deposit, and just asked us to swipe our card but never explained how much it would be and was not very friendly at all. My husband had to go down there several times to get assistance and was gaslit by him. He kept saying housekeeping was coming to fix the issue “right now” or oh they’re “on the way” which was a lie. They didn’t come till hours later and the handprints were never cleaned! Our phone could not call the front desk and 3 out of the 4 USB plugs didn’t work. Also, the lighting in the restroom was horrible, even during the day. I had a very hard time doing my makeup. Our room was supposed to be an ocean view room but was more ocean adjacent. We were stuck between this hotel and another option and I wish we would’ve gone with our other choice. Definitely would not stay here again.

The floors were filthy. Out socks were black. The in room bar was very limited we asked for a king and it wasn’t available. The sofa was stained and the flooring was not only filthy but in horrible condition. The price does NOT match the experience. I’ve stayed here many times and it seems like each time it’s getting worse and worse.

The website doesnt tell you the pool and bar are closed. They dont tell you at check in either. Online daily resort fee says $55 but they charged $62.50. They also charged room service to the room when i paid cash at delivery and they charged for "mix bar" when nothing was ever touched. The bathrooms are moldy, the outside balcony doors are moldy. Worst W experience of any W hotel.

Weird lighting in the rooms, it’s strange because there wasn’t enough lights or they were extremely dim. NO PRIVATE BATHROOM! Room for the toilet only, shower was in the middle between the sink and the beds. It was just an okay room. Nothing fancy. I expected more from a W Hotel.

The layout of the hotel can be very confusing (the service desk is on the 4th floor, there's two different towers, a couple of elevators that lead to one of their pools, and elevators were very slow). The hotel should have better signage to let patrons know where they are going. Our room was ice-cold freezing! I had to adjust the thermostat a couple degrees higher to make the room more comfortable for us. On our last full day, we were at the main pool with a DJ playing music. Great vibes! Although, the pool staff weren't too friendly when we walked in. Within 30 minutes, everyone was kicked out of the pool. Supposably, someone puked in the pool. They had to kick us out to have it cleaned & tested. We never went back. Afterwards, we moved to the 2nd pool, which was a lot smaller, with a more laid back atmosphere. It was confusing to get to. The hotel is across the street from the beach. The staff at the beach provided chairs, waters and towels. They were very friendly and easy to talk to. There were a couple of restaurants at the hotel. We enjoyed El Vez. Staff was friendly and the food was filling! I don't think it was worth staying at this hotel for the amount of money I paid to stay here. Beware: they will charge you an extra Daily Resort Service Fee of $62+/day as well. I wish there was better communication b/t staff and patrons regarding fees, etc. I'm not sure if I would stay at this hotel again though. My experience was "Fair", hence the 3 star ratings.

My stay was nice far as staff it was clean etc but very dated the beds were the worsts ever the Matress was so hard pillows so flat my neck hurt so bad the funny part was another woman at the pool mentioned the same thing so clearly it wasn’t just me . Food was good room service very fast .

The over charge , and there are Hidden fees like a 50 dollar a day hotel fee that you have to pay at the end and also a 200 dollar hold, which they charged me twice and said the other 200 will be return back to me in 3 to 5 business day depending on my bank, which was crazy. The hotel was nice but the front desk clerks have no idea with they are doing and the managers are not helpful either 1 out of 10 would not recommend.

Didn't get off to the best start...after a long day of travel, I should be able to check in at 4:30 pm. Jr Suite was in the residential tower, which was a long walk to everything the hotel has to offer, but was the perfect size for my wife, 13 yo son and myself. We did have to call and request clean towels + the garbage to be removed. The vibe was great & so was the location. We loved that they had e-bikes & both restaurants were very good. The pool was ROCKING, and the pool staff were AWESOME...felt like we were in Vegas. They were able to accommodate a late checkout at 4pm for $250, which we appreciated. Not perfect, but we will go back to the W.

High expectation…..poor delivery! My experience at the W of Ft Lauderdale was not what I expected from a 4 star establishment. I had a short stay at the W from Jan 5-7 2024. Upon arrival, I waited almost 30 min to get to my room due to issues with elevator. Only 1 out 3 elevators were working during my stay. There were no signs posted to alert customers of an elevator outage or issues & upon check in, the front desk failed to inform me. If I would have known, I would have requested a room on a lower level or cancelled the reservation altogether. God forbid I had a medical emergency on the 20th floor during my stay! That was unacceptable! Next, the cleanliness of my room was totally unacceptable. Dirty towels, stained/soiled. Dirty bedding with the mattress cover and foam pad covered with all types of stains of unimaginable fluids. The balcony floor was covered in dirt & grit. It was pretty obvious that balcony had not been swept or cleaned in weeks! Saturday morning after taking note of the balcony & soiled bedding, I sent my concerns & complaints to two managers of the hotel. I then notified the front desk. The gentleman at the front desk offered a $100 credit & I declined because that doesn’t resolve the issue for my stay and for future guests. I asked to speak with a manager about these issues but my name was written down on a sheet of paper & I have yet to hear from a manger. Unacceptable! The reviews compared to reality did not and do not match! Book with caution.

Very disappointed in the W Fort Lauderdale. The only thing we received after several major inconveniences while we were staying there were apologies. We will more than likely not return to a W Hotel considering it has gone down hill quite significantly since our last stay in early 2021. The Hilton next door provided far better and, quite honestly, more "luxury" services than the W Fort Lauderdale. Very unfortunate and a waste of money.

I checked into an ocean front king room. My son came to visit and called to upgrade the room for the remaining 3 nights. Allen, the front desk attendant / concierge told my son it would be an additional amount for the stay. We agreed. After waiting in my room ( as instructed) for seven hours, I was told the room was ready. I received an email saying I needed to sign the change of room form . A day after I had already been in this room. When we went to do this we were told the room price was not for the remainder of our stay , but rather PER night. Had they given me this form to sign when I got my new keys we wouldn't have moved!! We met with Daniel the new GM When we said we were checking out he said he would do whatever he could to keep us at the hotel. He said he would " forget " the night ( more like sixteen hours) in the suite and move us to to another room with no charge. My son asked what we owed. Daniel said nothing. We owed zero!! We asked again and he repeated we would owe nothing. Today I received a bill for the cost of the room he said he would “ forget”. When I spoke with Daniel he denied ever saying any of this. We heard from the bell men and valet that lying within the front desk staff and now the GM is a number one complaint they hear. I am disputing this w/ my cc company and have already spoken with an attorney. I Never signed anything about a price increase. We are now at the W in Miami. SO much better!I have alerted all my friends in travel industry.

Great location across street to beach. Beach chairs and towels make enjoying the beach hassle free Excellent service and check-in was superb. Early check in and late check out. Rooms and bed and linens were very comfortable. Night flight and offered access to amenities all day til departure. Highly recommend.

The rooms are nice and clean. We waited 3 hrs for some tacos at the pool. There were no chairs or were to sit at one of the pools. We had no coffee cups for coffee inside room, had to wait another hour for that. Room service was fast. Steak 954 restaurant was great!

Place was great as far as staff, housekeeping, bartenders. Prices were ridiculous and they are strict about bringing even your water/coffee by their pool. My $2 granola bar was $8 in their little store. And a drink by the pool was $25. Hopefully, you can expense it or prepare to spend for all the extra costs. Again, tops marks for service workers though.

We stayed here as part of a big road trip. Enjoyed our stay here very much. Onlly things i could fault were the lack of coffee to be had as all the hotels we stayed in had it freely available and we couldn't believe how rude the staff were at Breakfast in The Mexican restaurant. All the staff in the rest of the hotel were so pleasant but in here they were just horrible. Definitely would stay again but will choose to eat elsewhere for breakfast!!

Besides the resort its self begin beautiful, a few staff members definitely made it 5 stars. Make sure to visit Cynthia at the pool bar and end your evenings with Fabio and Patrick in the living room.

This was a new location for us in Fort Lauderdale and we enjoyed it very much. The hotel was lovely with many amenities. We especially enjoyed El Vez restaurant and the quieter of the two pools, Wet West. The staff, including housekeeping, were excellent.

The entire trip was absolutely amazing. The staff was as helpful as ever and as friendly as could be. The food manager sent my fiancé and me a bottle of champagne after our engagement at the hotel.
