Let’s start with the pros: the room we initially were given was dark and was without hot water. They were able to come fix the hot water quickly and after we requested they moved us to a nicer room with more light/windows. The initial room was also right on the street and the only window opened up to the street outside so that wasn’t going to be an option for safety and privacy reasons. I appreciated how quickly they came to fix the hot water and that they allowed us to switch rooms. The second room had more mirrors, the bedside tables were far more spacious, the bathroom was nice as it had windows, the fridge was full size, and it was great to have a kitchenette and utensils/cups etc. We also liked that we had to buzz in to get to the second room (more privacy). There is a Sainsbury’s and Two Magpies cafe on the corner which was super convenient Cons: The area is, in a word, bad. Expect graffiti, trash about + run down stores. A big reason we wanted to book at this property was the washer and dryer. Unfortunately the dryer doesn’t work. In both rooms we had issues and especially the second room the drying was just not an option. There are also no outlets in the bathrooms which meant we had to buy an extension cord in order to use a blow dryer/straightener. Just a note to foreign travelers and not a knock on the property at all- while it is close in miles to many site and attractions it is very far time wise. It usually took about 45 minutes to get anywhere of interest.

I did not like this place at all. Location is terrible. Washer was broken in the first apartment. Moved to another unit and then that apartment smelled like smoke. Washer smelled like mildew. No AC. Let me start with positives. Conveniently located for public transport. Bus stop is right across the apartment. DLR is about 5 mins walk Washer and dryer is useless. It’s a very small combo appliance suitable for probably 1 pair of clothing.dryer makes noise as if there is an airplane engine in it. Still does not dry full even after 2 hours. We gave up on this after the 2nd day and dried our clothes on the rack The bath tub is almost 2.5 to 3 ft high. If you have small kids or elders they cannot get in to this. And it has half door. So the water keeps spilling out. Kitchen has bare minimal cookware. No AC. So on some hot days in the morning times you have to sit in front of the pedestal fan. Some of the fans were bad and even after a complaint to fix no one showed up. There are no extra fans available This is definitely not a 4 star hotel

We had an excellent stay at Marlins. Flat was very well appointed with all necessary amenities available in good working condition. Pedestal fan and iron were a welcome surprise. Fan especially needed in this weather. Grocery store, metro and bus station are very close to the apartment. We highly recommend this place

The reception area was bright and clean. The room was large, clean, and the kitchen had almost everything I needed, except a roll of paoer towel which I needed badly. Finding the hotel was very difficult, evdn though it was on a main street and very visible. Even four locals did not know. Why? Because the name of the building the hotel is that of an old church. It is a hotel converted from a church. The hotel name was only on the glass door. And the church's name is visible from across the street. This, I was told, is required by local law. But the hotel should make the guests aware of it. The front door is also akways locked and one needs a FOB to get in. Charging me twice for the same stay was also not nice and inconvenient. Still waiting for the promised refund, from which I will get less than what I was charged to my card. The two staff I dealt with seem to be inexperienced. One, a new employee, charged me twice and other told me a package delivered to the hotel, with my name on it, could not have been accepted when I was not in the hotel, although I had been told it would be. She did not even check. The package was there and I got it.

Mohammed keeps an excellent property. This place is affordable, clean, and just far enough from the center of town but close to train and bus stations. Perfect for traveling without a car. Tatiana keeps the place immaculate. I’d book again. I’ve booked twice.

We stayed here for the week, in an 1 bedroom with sofa bed. Overall, it was a good option. The sofa bed was a little outdated, not the most comfortable. The front desk staff always friendly and polite

Super noisy other guests and no way to contact the reception, WhatsApp QR code didn't work and nobody picked up the phone. Also just too hot to close the windows for the night so did not sleep. Nice place otherwise but at bare minimum when you stay somewhere you'd like to be able to sleep.

This was my 2nd stay at Marlin, and the alluring reason to select Marlin is due to the super comfortable and convenient rooms that are offered. Optimally priced as well!, close to public transit systems like the DLR station. I was a bit disappointed this time though with the demeanor of the front office staff. Arrived a little before 3pm. Was asked to wait for another 30 minutes. Took a stroll & came back at 3pm, but was again asked to wait for some more time.

It is a hotel converted from a church. The hotel name was only on the glass door. And the church's name is visible from across the street. This, I was told, is required by local law. But the hotel should make the guests aware of it. The front door is also akways locked and one needs a FOB to get in. Charging me twice for the same stay was also not nice and inconvenient. Still waiting for the promised refund, from which I will get less than what I was charged to my card. The two staff I dealt with seem to be inexperienced. One, a new employee, charged me twice and other told me a package delivered to the hotel, with my name on it, could not have been accepted when I was not in the hotel, although I had been told it would be. She did not even check. The package was there and I got it.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Upgraded us to 2 bed apartment and it was fab. Very clean and had everything you would need for a stay. Will definitely be staying again

The hotel was nice and clean, as expected. The area is close to Limehouse DLR station which is great for commuting to central London. However looks like over the years, Marlin's policies have changed. For example, they dont provide extra tea / coffee, toiletries, or even replace used towels, which was a big surprise for me as I had stayed at Marlin a few years back. The hotel staff could be more polite and welcoming in my opinion. On the whole, it was a good stay but I'm not sure if I would stay at Marlin again which in my opinion is not a budget hotel so you'd expect better than the other cheaper ones.

Super noisy other guests and no way to contact the reception, WhatsApp QR code didn't work and nobody picked up the phone. Also just too hot to close the windows for the night so did not sleep. Nice place otherwise but at bare minimum when you stay somewhere you'd like to be able to sleep.

Mohammed keeps an excellent property. This place is affordable, clean, and just far enough from the center of town but close to train and bus stations. Perfect for traveling without a car. Tatiana keeps the place immaculate. I’d book again. I’ve booked twice.

Let’s start with the pros: the room we initially were given was dark and was without hot water. They were able to come fix the hot water quickly and after we requested they moved us to a nicer room with more light/windows. The initial room was also right on the street and the only window opened up to the street outside so that wasn’t going to be an option for safety and privacy reasons. I appreciated how quickly they came to fix the hot water and that they allowed us to switch rooms. The second room had more mirrors, the bedside tables were far more spacious, the bathroom was nice as it had windows, the fridge was full size, and it was great to have a kitchenette and utensils/cups etc. We also liked that we had to buzz in to get to the second room (more privacy). There is a Sainsbury’s and Two Magpies cafe on the corner which was super convenient Cons: The area is, in a word, bad. Expect graffiti, trash about + run down stores. A big reason we wanted to book at this property was the washer and dryer. Unfortunately the dryer doesn’t work. In both rooms we had issues and especially the second room the drying was just not an option. There are also no outlets in the bathrooms which meant we had to buy an extension cord in order to use a blow dryer/straightener. Just a note to foreign travelers and not a knock on the property at all- while it is close in miles to many site and attractions it is very far time wise. It usually took about 45 minutes to get anywhere of interest.

Awesome apartment next to the DRL tube 15min away of the madness.
