Its a great place the only issue is that for tge pool area you have to pay 20 per person for a 2 hour slot so morning swims weren't an option.

Really nice hotel. Very comfortable bed, nice quiet room and nice employees. I had used the spa on another occasion and was looking forward to using them again. Hotel guests are expected to pay £20 to use pool/ sauna which I wasn't happy with . As a hotel guest this I would say is pretty unusual and was very disappointing. I feel very sorry for the poor man on the spa reception having the same conversation with bewildered hotel guests. Not his decision no doubt. Anyway I paid the £20 and enjoyed the sauna .

Note the swimming pool is viewed as part of the spa so you are charged £20 if you just want a swim. Bit cheeky to be honest. Stayed in many hotels and none charged extra for use of the pool. Room too hot and air conditioning obviously set to limit too high!

We stay here regularly when visiting family in the area. As it is so convenient for the motorway network. There is always available parking and large pleasant grounds. The room is clean and amenities good. There is a gym I didn't use and a restaurant I have eaten at before the food choice was good. It is close to Hoole with its attractive shops, coffee house and a Michelin starred restaurant. We will stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay and cannot fault the hotel at all. Lovely modern bedroom. The Garden bar was large with TV screens showing the news and football. If i have a piece of advice, it would be to be reminded that there is an extra cost to use the pool area. This is currently £20 per person for 2 hours. This has to be booked, you cant just walk in. Once you are aware of that, then there are no surprises. This is quite different than lots of hotels and can add quite a lot to your original room price. Saying that, the spa / pool area is really nice and includes a steam room, sauna, hammam

Loved the hotel and staff were great. My only gripe is after booking a non-refundable room, the hotel contacted to stay that we would have to pay a further £20 per person should we will to use the pool! I could understand if we wanted to treatments but surely guests should have access to the pool during certain hours if staying at the hotel!

We had lovely stay. The staff at checkin were friendly amd helpful. Our room was tidy and the little extras like a small fridge, iron etc came in useful. We bought some time in the spa area which was very nice. The aroma room and open air spa pool were especially nice. The swimming pool is quite narrow so if you are intending to swim laps you might struggle when busy as it can only take two swimmers comfortably. The breakfast and evening meal were served promply and we had great service. The pepperoni pizza and the porridge were particularly enjoyed. In the hot weather the a/c theoughout the whole hotel and in the room were appreciated! We would definitely stay again

Cons - Took 35 minutes to check in , walls are very thin , could hear the couple next door going at it and then showering and using the bathroom , towels in my room had stains. Pro- Nice area and building , complimentary drink on arrival , cookies once checked in , comfy bed

Great stay! Room was good, staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I was gutted about was that there was dirty dishes and empty glasses with an empty bottle of wine sitting outside our door when we first arrived from the previous occupants.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year. We stayed in a suite as a couple with a toddler. We didn’t find the staff to be very friendly or helpful. The room was tired, basic and wasn’t particularly clean. This is our second visit to this hotel and we much preferred the first visit.

The standard of the hotel is excellent. They have a great courtyard in the walled garden. They are let down in two areas. 1 the guest WiFi is the worst I have come across in any hotel. We were on floor two and we kept being thrown out of the WiFi every two or three minutes. 2 We had your chicken pate in the restaurant. It said on the menu something like with warm sourdough bread. It came with 3 slices of french stick that had two griddle marks on them and they were so cold that they had been pre-prerared and just come out of a refrigerator. All the other food looked like it had been heated up from pre-prepared chilled food. The pizzas looked as though they had been cooked from frozen. Get these two things right and They have a great hotel there.

Its a nice hotel but i was expecting better i guess, the bed was like a rock but maybe some people like extra firm beds. And not sound proof at all, every cough which was alot from my neighbours i could hear even when they used the toilet i could hear! The dinning room is nice we stayed for dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately tho although there is many pizzas on the menu they were not being served but we were not told this when we were sat down so my daughter (child) was very disappointed and struggled to find another option, she just chose anything in the end and picked at it. Had this information been clear from the beginning we could have arranged something else but by the point we were ordering we already had drinks and felt uncomfortable to just leave. The breakfast had a good variety.

Excellent stay as usual. Staff are very well trained and deliver excellent service. There was an issue with our aircon and they weren’t sure how long it would take to fix so they moved us to an equivalent room with no trouble or hesitation at all. The hotel and grounds are immaculate, the cleaning and gardening staff must work very hard. We’re only down the road in Liverpool, but try and pop over to doubletree Chester a couple of times a year for special occasions.

Decent Hotel, staff very welcoming. Rooms a little tatty around the edges if you look, but perfectly fine - apart from one major failing. The mirrors in the bathroom are heated (to de-mist) but they are constantly on, at a very high level, with seemingly no way of turning them off. This leads to the bathroom becoming a sauna, an uncomfortably hot sauna, at all times. In turn the room is very warm, the window does nothing for air flow and so you have to use the very noisy air con. The energy being wasted here is unfathomable, and cannot help room prices (on the high side already). Additionally, the hot water is unbelievably hot, to the point that if you had small children you'd very easily run the risk of scalding or worse. Why does it need to be SO hot?

I was pretty disappointed with the hotel i paid for a room with a kingsize bed instead i got two single beds pushed together But the hotel was very clean but once we rang for room service because we wanted a lighf snack just after our arrival and no one picked up the phone and we rang a few times in general was a very nice hotel just found a few little negaitve points

First was the reception lady who assisted my check in, it was terrible because i feel that i am not welcome to the place. No greetings and is not approachable. but when I finished she politely greeted other guest next to me. (White guest). Same happened when i had my breakfast a different lady who's in the front desk of restaurant. It seems that they are only pleasant with white people . I feel the reception service could have been better. On arrival I went to the reception desk that had a member of staff on I stood there but was not acknowledged the staff member was looking at the screen in front of her with paper in her hand after a while she said you need to check in over there and point to the other reception desk. I didn’t say anything but went over to the other one we were checked in however the receptionist started a conversation with a male colleague which continued throughout our check in. Not very professional in my eyes

A good large hotel in pleasant quiet surroundings situated on the edge of Chester centre which can be reached by taxi. (Reception advised against taking a bus as was an unreliable service!? )The room was basic but adequate for our 3 night stay. Room service did not replenish the tea tray nor were there any biscuits left throughout our stay. Reception staff were friendly but couldn’t supply us with a tourist map of Chester. The restaurant was really good over looking the gardens and served a good choice for breakfast. Unfortunately the spa and pool cost £20 a day to access. We visited on a bank holiday leaving on the Tuesday morning which was just as well as at 8.30 we were woken to the sound of drilling and hammering as building work resumed. Overall a bit pricy for what we got.

The hotel and grounds look beautiful and it’s perfectly located for many things to do in Chester. The room was very clean and equipped with everything you might need. We found the mattress quite hard but that’s maybe our personal preference. The shower wasn’t over powerful either but nothing to complain about. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options and staff were attentive. We would stay again.

Hotel was stunning both inside and outside and the staff were really friendly and polite nothing was too much trouble. Bed was really comfy and breakfast was excellent would come back to stay next time we are in Chester. Great location 5 minutes from motorway and only a few minutes from city centre and the zoo which is why we visited

This was the perfect location for us to stay to be able to visit Cheshire Oaks, Chester Zoo and Chester, just 10mins drive from each. I avoided hotels in Chester due to lack of easy parking options but this one was great. Really nice rooms, clean and modern with lots of amenities. Breakfast was good, plenty of hot and continental choices. We loved the warm cookie at check in too - a nice touch! Staff were all very nice and friendly.

Overall good. Slight gripe with the spa, paying for 2 hours when you get 1.5 and some facilities closed seems a little unreasonable. Welcome cookie a lovely touch. Breakfast was ok, but there was alot missing that wasn’t being topped up to meet demand.

The rooms were nice, and the bed was comfortable, but the spa was disappointing. Towels were scattered all over the floor, and there was nowhere to sit or lie down, despite being told that time slots were in place to manage the number of guests. Breakfast was also underwhelming—the eggs were hard as if they had been sitting out for hours, the sausage was tough to cut, and the bacon fat was unrendered.
