staff excellent - its not the ritz but its very convenient and the staff are friendly, also 24/7 front of house.

Very convenient hotel near St Pancras. It is located in a quiet street. Friendly staff at the reception all the time. Simple bedroom but it serves its purpose. Booked the breakfast, continental, again friendly staff bringing you freshly toasted bread. If you have specific requirements such as not cow milk or green tea bring your own as the choice is cafe or English tea. For the mobile, be aware to bring your own electric plug to reload. No hairdryer neither so bring your own. A towel to put on the floor near the shower would be good to prevent slipping. I was at the top floor without lift, so if you have a heavy bag or physical conditions, specify it at booking

Bed was not even a normal Double, No facilities such as kettle and coffee Tea Milk etc. Narrow stairs and no assistance with luggage as there is no lift. Only advantage was it was close to the Railway station would think twice about staying there again.

Simple hotel, someplace decent to sleep and then spend the rest of your day running the streets exploring. The biggest draw is the location, as it's a short walk from major train hub, King's Cross. In-room safe has a daily fee, and if you want them to hold your luggage after checking out, there's a fee for that as well (never experienced that in all my years of travel). Walls are thin, you can hear your next door neighbor talking, and the people walking around in the room above you. If you keep your expectations in check, and focus on convenience, it's a decent place to stay.

If you ever want to experience how not to run a hotel, this is the place! 😅 Old carpet straight from the last century, a bed that could double as a trampoline, and towels so tiny they could be napkins. The grand amenity? One little bar of soap. We climbed three floors by stairs — bonus workout included! The guy at the front desk clearly missed the class on hospitality; I’m pretty sure he hates his job more than I hated the room. Woke up to street noise, packed our bags, and escaped an hour early… while it was still dark. 10/10 for the survival story, 0/10 for comfort. 😂

The room was very small, there is no elevator, and the bathroom was very tiny. There was no fan or a/c and the room was very hot. The front desk was staffed 24/7, so I felt secure. The bed sheets had hairs on them and there was mold in the bathroom.

It was a very safe and secure building. I was up four flights of narrow winding stairs which I found carrying my luggage quite difficult. I think it would be helpful if the owners – staff had helped with carrying the suitcase. Everyone was very friendly. Joy Ferguson

Small hotel close to Eurostar train station, and the metro station. Basic accommodation, the room was a bit small, but appropriate for the price. But was a bit surprised they charged for luggage storage on checkout day.

tight spaces, no lift or elevator and it is very hard if you have luggage with very tight staircase, windows got locks

Very good location being just a 5 min walk from Kings Cross St Pancras. We decided to do an overnight stay ahead of an early morning trip on the eurostar. Room was in basement, basic room, had 2 beds a double and single which was good as double was not big enough for both of us. En suite bathroom was tiny and was very difficult to use toilet. Overnight was very noisy with doors slamming and also a pungent smell of weed from outside (we had a central window even in basement). Early check in was allowed at no extra cost as our room was ready. Leave your key at reception each time you leave. Good budget friendly option as other more expensive hotels in area are also compact so if need extra room check the room size 1st

Very small room, no space to move around or open suitcases. Dirty bathroom. Bad smell. Good location only, many hotels on the same street, I recommend other choices.

The location of the hotel was great. However, the hotel is very old and needs updating. The bedding is not clean and the room was very small. There was one very small bar for four of us and no shower gel. I asked for extra shampoo and shower gel and was told that I can't have them both! They gave me a very cheap and bad quality shampoo only so I walked to the shops and bought shower gel and shampoo. They charged a lot of money for a very small room and dirty beds. I will never go back there again.

Good hotel for myself who’s a solo traveler. I felt safe. The room was cleaned to a good standard, towels, shampoo and soap provided, also coffee making facilities in the room. The reception is 24hrs, the front desk people were so very nice and polite. The hotel is very close to Kings Cross. Overall I’m very happy and happily impressed with my stay in the Elmwood hotel. I will choose this hotel again for future stays. Thank you.

Great location for train and tube stations and the King's Cross food market stalls. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a triple room which had 1 double and 1 single bed, it was very small, but clean and had everything we needed. If you are on a budget, this is a great place to shower and sleep. No frills but it was quiet, clean and had comfortable beds with good housekeeping. Didn't t try the breakfast but appreciated the tea and coffee making stuff in the room. 4 stars from me only because the hallways/stairways need an update.

Very dirty! Hallway carpet not seen a hover for a long time, same as room. Cobwebs everywhere! No sink plug. Could not fill kettle, no space in dirty sink to fill. Dirty unusable shower and very stained towels. Waited ages for entry to Hotel. Apparently, attendant was in toilet! Very expensive £90 for one night. Only convenience being near to St Pancras Station for very early morning Eurostar train to Brussels Midi, then to Brugge Station. Got to be better hotels, would not recommend this place to anybody.

Really disappointing experience overall, especially considering we paid over $100 per night. Our room was located on the lowest level of the hotel—essentially the basement. While the rest of the property smelled heavily of air freshener, our section had a strong sewage-like odor. The source appeared to be black mold, which was visible throughout the bathroom: on the walls, in the tile grout, and even on the shower curtain. This felt like a genuine health concern. Additionally, the hotel requires guests to leave their room key at reception when going out. One evening, the staff member on duty disappeared for about 30 minutes, leaving me locked outside in the cold. I was only able to get in because my partner was in the room; otherwise, I would have been stuck waiting. We then had to continue waiting for the staff member to return just to retrieve our key. After checking out, both of us became ill. We can’t say definitively it was caused by the hotel, but considering the conditions, it’s hard not to wonder. Overall, given the price and the state of the room, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. P.S. Wifi was awful, if that factors into your decision.

The room was dirty and the bed smelled like it was dipped in a strong insecticide. The smell of the toilet is a story for another day.

Easy check in, close to the station. The room was not clean. I found several hairs in the bed. Definitely did not want to walk around without my shoes. Shower was not clean. Do not recommend.

Perfect budget hotel for the price. Clean comfortable bed and, while the shower is a bit tight, it’s plenty powerful and hot enough. Easy to find and plenty of good places to eat and drink nearby.

No air conditioner, super tiny and loud if you open the window. Convenient location close to train and bus station

I was staying for a couple of nights for convenient access to two places of work. Unfortunately what I really needed to do in the few hours I had between morning and evening jobs on the second day was sleep, which was the one thing this hotel was really not geared towards. Rooms are completely un-soundproofed. From banging outside which could have come from roadworks but felt like they were banging on the wall of the building, to footsteps stomping and babies crying upstairs, the room did not provide a peaceful environment to sleep during the day. It was fine at night time. The mattress was old and worn, the shower didn't have a proper mount so had to be hand held or angled upwards. Benefits were the 24/7 reception and very short walk to Kings Cross Station. I wouldn't call the price 'cheap', but it is Central London and the price was cheap compared to everywhere else.

Bed was NOT a double bed. Couldn’t open window as smell of weed filtered through from outside. Was extremely hot. Bedroom was extremely cramped. Bathroom was dirty. Water in shower drain still hadn’t soaked away. Towel to shower with was hand wash size. No hot water for shower - had to have a cold shower.

I got a room that is next to the side walk and can hear people while they’re passing. You can hear the bang of the doors while sleeping and people talking out loud. For 1 night stay it’s ok I should say.

Convenient transportation, but too noisy.

Staff were pleasant, its in a good location but thats the only positives to be found here. The hotel is in need of a complete make over, really does need modernising. Everything is very old, the mattress should have been replaced years ago and offered no support. Pillows are of low quality and super thin.

The staffs are simply amazing, so helpful, friendly, and personable, almost like family friends once we get to know them. So comfortable to stay. Some noise from the outside or other guests with young children can be a bit disturbing but that cannot be helped and the staff will try to accommodate the needs, wonderful!

Suit our needs as only needed a bed to come back to at night. The 2nd member of staff that worked the front desk after check in was rude with limited costumer skills and not helpful

This small hotel around King's cross and St Pancras area is not a high end place but nonetheless comfortable and convenient for both stations mentioned above, i had a single room that was ample for my needs, bed was comfortable i had tea and coffee making facilities a small toilet and shower room on the whole i would stay here again.

Elmwood hotel is very close to Kingscross/St Pancras, off of a quiet square a block or so off the Euston Road. It's convenient for coming and going from the airport or for getting anywhere you want to go in London.

Very convenient if you want a place by Kings Cross. I took a small single room with en-suite at a very reasonable price and that is exactly what I got. As a plus the staff were extremely friendly. If you are simply looking for a good value overnight stay in a very convenient location then this is your place.

It's an ideal spot to stop in if you need somewhere for overnight and you're catching the Eurostar the next morning

I had a great stay - the hotel is very well located for Kings X, Camden, Covt Garden etc and great rail/tube connections. I really enjoyed the stay - the staff were super helpful but bear in mind that you get what you pay for, i.e. you are not staying at the Savoy ;-) I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great for Kings Cross and Eurostar

The room was small but had everything i needed. i only stayed one night while seeing the sights so only needed to sleep in. the staff were very friendly and the location is excellent for trains and underground.

Generally ok, very out of date however very clean. Definitely worthy one night having only walking distance from St. Pancras International.

Very nice place and affordable for the neighborhood. We really enjoyed being close and accessible to many London sites.

Perfectly adequate short stay with convenience of the railway stations only 5 minutes walk away.

Was great value for money stay. Bed very small and was noisy overnight lots people making noise and doors banging etc but for what we paid in King’s Cross i would use it again nice little breakfast too was a bonus really and we got what we paid for. Very friendly staff and helpful

It was nice, but the beds were uncomfortable and the breakfast didn't have a whole lot of options and was $15 a day for breakfast. It is close to Kings Cross so it was nice for convenience and McDonalds was right next to Kings Cross so if you wanted a larger Varity for breakfast you could just go there.

Very convenient location just up the street from King's Cross station. Helpful staff and pleasant continental breakfast in the basement room. The guest room is small, but I expected that for the price. Radiator needs a control dial on it, and the toilet is rather slow to refill but eventually stops gurgling after 5-10 minutes or so.

This hotel was a ten minute walk from st pancras/kings cross, an easy walk even with suitcases. It was right next to a small park, and I found several options for cafes, and restaurants nearby. It’s a quiet safe neighborhood that’s quite walkable and convenient to public transportation. I chose this hotel because it was affordable and a great value for the location, private bathroom with shower, a £5 continental breakfast that included a croissant, deli meat, cheese, cereal, toast and jam; and they had a 24hr concierge and were more than happy to hold our luggage so we could check in straight from the airport/train then walk to breakfast while we waited for our room to be made.

Stay was better than expected - perfect location for kings cross station. Breakfast- croissants, cereal, toast and meats/cheese not bad value. Service good - would probably stay again!

Decent for an affordable hotel. I was able to store my luggage in a reception hall before check in, and I mostly stayed in my room once i checked in. The floor was rather worn in my room and had chips in the planks. The bed was fine, but the room was quite dusty. I could hear conversations in nearby rooms and snoring from other guests. Be aware that the hotel is very close to Kings Cross, and so there was much noise from local construction and musicians near the station. Checking in and out went smoothly, and the paid breakfast was adequate.

The bathroom exhaust was noisy. Also, the sink wouldn't drain well. The breakfast was meant to be served from 07.30 but they delayed it, so i left without having breakfast. Wouldn't recommend.

Perfect for King's Cross Station. Efficient, straightforward, clean and safe. Continental breakfast at reasonable price and ample portions. Will definitely go back.
