The management were very welcoming on arrival & during our stay over the weekend nothing was a problem they were helpful, informative & friendly. The property was very maintained, spotlessly clean & tidy they obviously take pride in their motel. We will certainly return next we visit Townsville.

The room looked tidy but when I turned on the aircon, a few cockroaches fell from it. There were also some cockroaches around the bed. The window and its curtains could not be closed, and room was noisy due to traffic on the road next to it.

The Raintree was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, there were no spare pillows - we had two (2) relatively low pillows and two (2) hard cushions between us (2 adults). The lack of power points, especially beside the bed was a nuisance. We like to charge our phones on the bedside table, in case we need to attend to them. We had to use a power point on the opposite side of the bed. However, none of these will stop us from staying there again. Clean & comfortable are the priority.

The Bed was a dream to sleep on, which is my priority, downside, power points are def 1980 positioning, you need to have a 3-6 mtr extension cord for your laptop or phone or night time medical devices, lighting requires updating. excessive noise from Refrigerator had to switch it off at night time. TV mounted so that you have to move bed to see full screen, picture quality and reception not the best.

No rooms had hot water as they'd run out of gas but I wasn't advised at check-in (at 8pm) so I at least had the choice to find another motel. A casual apology was given at checkout but no compensation was offered. Terrible stay!! I can't understand the excellent reviews for this place as it is very tired and in need of renovation. The beds aren't good (despite what another review said, and I've NEVER stayed at a place that ran out of hot water.

Had to wait for the room to finish being serviced before we could enter - 1/2 hour. No milk in the fridge, had to fetch it myself. the directional blades of the air conditioner were broken and missing. The light fitting over the single bed was missing, just a sharp piece of metal sticking out of the bedhead. The catch on the shower door was not sealing and the floor became awash.
