The Rove was close to the paddington train station and conveniently within walking distance to Hyde Park and many shops and restaurants or pubs. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and had everything we needed. There was even a lift in this hotel--not usual or expected!

Pros: Very clean room (a huge plus for me), good housekeeping, pleasant staff, very close to Paddington station. Cons: This room is good for one, but if you're sharing, be prepared to see (and hear) the other person showering and using the toilet through a translucent glass door. There are weird staircases in the building due to how the hotel was created by combining three houses. The street the hotel is can be quite dirty--there was garbage everywhere when we left. Overall, an okay place to stay, but next time we'll be looking for a standard hotel chain outside busy areas. I would recommend to single travelers who want to be near Paddington.

Comfortable room - I stayed 5 days - I had a lift on level 2 which was wonderful- other rooms have lift then stairs so if you need a lift book direct with hotel in advance. Very easy flat access to Paddington station

Check in was terrible, gentleman who was working never made eye contact nor greeted us or smiled, he barely looked up. He had difficulty finding our reservation but was all prepared as he finally looked at the arrivals. Room was fine, housekeeping was good. Other staff always smiled and said hello if we passed by. Water pressure in shower could be improved. The only perk or facility we were informed of at check in was complimentary water from a dispenser in the lobby, wasn’t worth mentioning in my opinion.

Great location, 2 mins away from Paddington Station which has brilliant shops. Lots of places near by to get food and drink. Rove Hotel is steps from Paddington Station. While it's one of these many small hotels in classic London townhouses, the rooms have been renovated from top to bottom with plentiful plug-ins for electronics, new furniture, new bathroom with walk-in shower. The rooms are small but are big enough that the two of us could stow luggage easily. There is no breakfast offered but there is an outstanding cafe about 3 minutes away with a full breakfast selection. Instead of breakfast, the hotel has air conditioning which worked very well. Hotel also has an elevator, also a rarity. For a smaller hotel, they always had two staff on duty, and they were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This hotel earned their five stars.

Clean comfy room. Lovely attending staff. Had a minor problem with the shower and was immediately offered to change rooms. A great plus that they offer water from machine so you don’t have to drink the chlorine tasting water from the tap. We were on the first floor, the tube runs underneath, and shakes a bit. But this did not bother us when sleeping. Only a couple of minutes to the tube and train station, which was practical! Would definitely come back!

Very clean, very well presented room and ensuite with toiletries provided. Very comfortable king size bed and linen. Five minutes walk from the amazing Paddington Station and numerous dining options. Fifteen minutes walk to the relaxing Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.

Room was a bit small. The positives. Really polite staff, very helpful. Good location, close to the Paddington station. Bath room appears renovated and was spacious. The negatives, Internet did not work well, unable to stream anything without problems. Very dusty and dirty behind the desk with old utensils covered in dust. Bathroom sink partially clogged, leaving debris in the bowl after the very slow draining. Room was a bit small, always bumping into something. Did advise the front desk clerk who stated she would pass my notes a long to management.

Room size, location, and overall staff services are good. The shower was a problem with the water don’t drain properly and we had to shower with our feet soaking in soapy water. This was not fixed during our 4 night stay. The remote control was not in the room and we had to tell the front desk staff to get us one.

There's an issue with the hot water. They'll act surprised when you bring it up, but as others have noted, it's a common theme to only have cold water in your shower. They turned mine on within a day but still, very frustrating. Also the rooms are absolutely tiny, the entire bathroom the size of a closet, the sink being in the main room rather inconvenient.

The people that worked there were so kind and accommodating. We were able to move to another room because the room was so small (I have never seen a room that tiny). We could not put our luggage in the room. The train or tube was very loud. I liked the area a lot. Would not stay there again due to the size of the rooms.

Hotel is on the metro underground and in operation hours you can feel the vibration and sound at the lower rooms. There was no problem about other topics. Hotel was very clean and personal was helpful kindly. Close to everywhere.

The room was very small. You couldn’t open a suitcase anywhere but the floor by the door or on the bed. Shower was too small for a 6ft person to use. Location was convenient to paddington and it was clean but we won’t stay here again. The air conditioning worked but was VERY loud and the trains are a problem if you are a light sleeper. Definitely not for anyone with mobility issues.

The hotel area was quiet and had such easy access to Paddington station which was nice. My husband and I chose the cozy double but were quite surprised at the bathroom setup. The door was glass and while it was frosted it wasn’t completely hidden. There definitely was not a lot of room for privacy. We had trouble with our ac working a couple of nights but other than that the hotel was perfect for what we needed it for.

Convenient, if you don’t mind feeling like you’re sleeping in a cupboard. The location is great, right near the station, close to public transport, and nestled in a lovely part of London. That’s probably what you’re paying for.. because it certainly isn’t the room. Let’s just say “compact” would be generous. If you’ve ever wanted to experience what it’s like to sleep in a tastefully decorated cupboard, this is your chance! Add to that paper-thin walls and ceilings, and you’ll enjoy every stomp, sneeze, and late-night chat from your upstairs and next-door neighbours. All in all, it’s fine if you’re a solo traveler there to explore and not planning to spend much time in your room. Just don’t expect space or value.

The AC didn’t work well the 1st night, but staff got it fixed for our 2nd night. We weren’t happy to not have a real door in the restroom especially since there were 3 of us traveling together. The door is frosted glass with 1” gapes on each side & does not lock. The extra bed didn’t fit in the room so it was pushed against the king bed to make a mega bed which was awkward for our teenage son & definitely not what was advertised when we booked the hotel.

I’ve stayed here before and I love it so central lovely clean rooms usually spacious! However this time the room was so small and I could hear the tube running and shaking the whole room of an evening but other than that lovely hotel and would stay again

First hotel on our 3 week trip across London, Paris, and Italy. Hotel staff was really great, super helpful and kind. Had some good chats and got good recommendations for local food. Leaving bags with reception both before and after we checked in/out was easy and made life a lot easier. The hotel is right over the Paddington train line, so every 10 minutes from 5:30am to 11:59pm the whole room shakes and rattles. Not a huge issue for us as we are deep sleepers and used to trains, but very unexpected. Overall happy with our stay,

Online it said 2pm check in but they told us it wouldn’t be ready until 3pm. We asked about early check in and they said maybe. That didn’t sound promising we explored London and came back at 330. We were told they were cleaning our room and almost done. We waited 30 min and then I asked how much longer and they told us at least an hour. We decided to go to a pub around the corner to burn some time and came back to the hotel around 6pm. At this point the room was still not yet cleaned. After another 20 minutes, we were finally allowed into our room. At the time of booking, we had requested and paid for a king size bed. I’m not sure that’s what we received and on top of that the room was so small we literally could only open our luggage when it was on the bed. Other than that, the location is good. Short walk to Paddington Station and a lot of restaurants and pubs nearby. Room was clean.

I booked this hotel for my girlfriends birthday and she loved it. Melvyn the manager arranged for some balloons to be in the bedroom. Also a massive thank you to Melvyn and Will, staff at the hotel, who helped us massively when we had an issue with my car meaning we ended up stranded in London for a few hours, Melvyn kindly kept us out the cold and provided help with their maintenance man for us(no hotels would ever do this) We are so thankful for the staff here and will DEFINITELY be returning. Thank you all so much for a lovely stay. Everything 10/10

If you’re looking for a simple place to sleep in a convenient location, look elsewhere. This hotel is right above a tube line so you’ll be up from 6ish, whether you like it or not. The plumbing system is also very noisy and disruptive. I’m well travelled and have stayed everywhere from hostels to hotels. This was hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I feel like I haven’t slept a wink and my head is pounding. In addition, staff were terrible and outright lied to me. I asked if I could switch to these floor as my friend and the guy at reception told me they’re fully booked. I searched on my phone and there were plenty of rooms available. He then said it might have been possible if I checked in earlier. I checked in at 3.06pm and check in opens at 3pm, this was the earliest time possible. My friend said her floor seemed quite empty so im not sure why I was lied to. The two positives are location and cleanliness. But I’d just prefer a quiet room and a lie in!

Myself and my wife staued here due to the proximity to st marys hosptial. The rooms were perfect, everything you need for a stay as well as being in central Paddington. Every single memer of staff in reception were amazing, they all went above and beyond during our stay so a special shout out to all of them who are am asset to the hotel!!

Great location, 2 mins away from Paddington Station which has brilliant shops. Lots of places near by to get food and drink. Room was spotless and so was bathroom, good shower and lots of towels which were replaced each day . Free water in reception and bottles to fill up to take to room was a nice touch. Staff were friendly and helpful

The hotel feels brand new. Located on the prettiest street in London. Just a super short walk to Paddington station. The air conditioners are outstanding! It was a pleasant surprise after a long sweaty day of sightseeing. We had a top floor room. We could hear the Underground train, but it was not a bother at all. Occasionally we smelled sewer but it went away rapidly. Old buildings have issues. No worries. Our room was not quite as described. The staff explained that was because the new owners are doing a total remodel.

I can't imagine a more convenient location than the Rove. The room was a bit on the small side, but it had everything one might need, e.g., a mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, toiletries. I've gotten accustomed to not having daily maid service since Covid, but it was provided without a special request, and that was very nice.

This hotel is just 5 minutes walking from Paddington Satation. So if you go to London and coming from the airport, this hotel would be extremely convenient for a short stay. Nothing fancy but you get what you pay for. Besides, it is surrounded by many restaurants and shops. I really like it

I guess you could call this more of a boutique type hotel. Our room was on the ground level and I was worried about noise, but it was fine. The room itself was small, but the ceiling was high & made it feel more spacious. The toilet and shower were enclosed and the sink was just outside the bathroom which was nice. Location was great, 5 min walk to Paddington station where we took the Heathrow Express and could catch the tube. Would definitely stay here again!

Very small room, no breakfast, noise from trains, and unable to use the preferred method of entry into my room. The hotel is like a maze. Comfortable bed, good location. At 160 pounds a night, there will be better options even in London.

Rove Hotel is steps from Paddington Station. While it's one of these many small hotels in classic London townhouses, the rooms have been renovated from top to bottom with plentiful plug-ins for electronics, new furniture, new bathroom with walk-in shower. The rooms are small but are big enough that the two of us could stow luggage easily. There is no breakfast offered but there is an outstanding cafe about 3 minutes away with a full breakfast selection. Instead of breakfast, the hotel has air conditioning which worked very well. Hotel also has an elevator, also a rarity. For a smaller hotel, they always had two staff on duty, and they were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This hotel earned their five stars.

Very good location, nice bed and clean room / bathroom. Chosen it for being 4* as others were cheaper nearby but 3*. Unfortunately, neither entrance or rooms feel as 4*. Waited long time in the morning for shower to be hot. It is a good place to sleep and be close to Paddington. Don’t expect anything more.

We booked a king size room. Upon arrival we had to double check it was a king size as it was a small room. Not much floor space so very cramped if you have suitcase. Bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on. We reported this and was offered to have the room changed. Got a new room, room was a considerably bigger but bathroom was tiny. If ur a large person you will not fit in that shower cubicle. Felt claustrophobic, bed still uncomfortable so we slept on the duvet. AC did not work. Neither did the tv. I stayed in the basement floor and you can feel the vibrations from the train station, but thankfully it wasn't loud and would be great for those who cant sleep without a little background noise. This was a perfect location- a few blocks from the Paddington station and walking distance from the park. I walked through the park to Buckingham Palace and it was about 45min walk (all flat and very peaceful). The staff were so kind. The woman at the front desk was amazing and helped me with some questions.
