The room and pub below were beautiful. The staff were friendly and courteous. The breakfast was quite delicious and satisfying. We had an excellent stay and would definitely recommend the Black Lion to anyone visiting London.

This accommodation was perfection. Very close to a tube station, with lots of local amenities, restraints and shops close by. The pub was beautiful, staff very friendly and breakfast was fresh with plenty of selection. Overall perfect

Had an incredible stay at this property! Beautiful clean fully renovated rooms with original 1898 features remaining. Historic and elegant pub space with amazing and affordable food. The staff made me feel safe, welcome, and important to them. I had a train cancellation while solo travelling as a young women and they gave me the best experience I could ask for. They also have a “garden” space available for smoking after closing which is a HUGE plus for an insomniac traveller like myself. The food for breakfast was plentiful and of exceptional quality. I will definitely be returning.

Beautiful, modern accommodations in the setting of a historic pub filled with antiques and carpentry of a bygone era. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was great down in the restaurant. Perfect breakfast provided every morning. We will be back!

Absolutely stunning pub, with friendly, helpful staff. I requested some extras with dinner to make it special for my partner and they went the extra mile with candles and flowers etc, it was perfect. The food was divine, the sharing plates were stunning. The room was comfortable and beautiful and the bathroom was luxurious. Would definitely recommend and return.

Walk from the station to the hotel was a little worrying as something involving many shouting people and police was taking place. (By time we left for the evening it had all cleared and was quiet the rest of the stay). Checked in at the main pub bar, was given our key and taken round the building by the very friendly lady. They have a chiller on the landing to help yourself to water which was a lovely touch. Decor throughout was beautiful. Room clean and tidy, lovely spacious and functional bathroom. Good cupboard space and desk with tea/coffee facilities. Bed felt a little hard initially but was actually very comfy to sleep on. Was advised the pub didn't close till midnight (Saturday) so was. Little concerned about noise. When we got back we heard the bar music as we climbed the stairs but once in our room barely heard any sounds at all. I was very surprised at how quiet it all was. We overlooked the park area at the back. Breakfast was helpful yourself, continental style with fresh juice, tea & coffee. Overall a lovely one night stay, hotel great and all staff we encountered were helpful and genuinely friendly!

What an amazing find this was! The pub was beautiful, full of original features and the room we stayed in was immaculate. Good air con in a heatwave, really comfy bed and I loved the shower. The only downside was 2 flights of stairs but I would absolutely stay here again.

We were so impressed with how beautiful the accommodations were. It is all brand new and felt very luxurious. They were quick to make sure we felt comfortable and would immediately resolve any (minor) problems that arose. The rooms were immaculately clean and they provided amenities that were expected (shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, steamer, etc). The breakfast included warm croissants (I think we liked them better than most of the cafes we visited in Paris), chocolate croissants, cereal, bread and jam, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea and my favorite- hot chocolate. We also had Sunday Roast there and it was delicious. It was close to the underground line as well as Hop On Hop Off buses and next to a park. We would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Black Lion Pub & Guesthouse. We were greeted at the door when we arrived and were quickly shown to our room even though we were a bit early. The hotel and restaurant staff were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. The property was well maintained and everything was very clean. We stayed in the Grand Suite. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was extremely spacious. We did not hear any noise from the pub itself and although we heard some street noise, we did not find it disturbing. The continental breakfast was a convenient and welcomed part of our stay as we didn't need to find another place for a quick bite to eat - and great coffee. Transportation was not an issue as it was just a 10 minute walk to the Kilburn High Road station. Thank you to the Black Lion Pub & Guesthouse for a great stay!

Lovely two night stay in a well decorated room. On the second floor and the stairs up are quite steep and shallow despite being wide. Hard going after a day and f walking round London and standing at a Taylor Swift concert! Room 7 is well appointed. Bed is firm and comfortable with plentiful pillows. Shower pressure and temperature is great on both the rainfall and detachable shower head. Dyson fan provided too. Breakfast is continental with a wide variety to choose from. Parfait was a highlight with a granola topping. Coffee is tasty and the perfect start to the day.

This is an absolute gem of a place. Very easy to get to on the tube Jubilee line). The pub is a beautiful, old, large establishment with plenty of character. We had a warm welcome on arrival by helpful staff. Our room was very nicely appointed, comfortable and roomy. We had our evening meal in the pub rather than the restaurant room, as it was lively and buzzy. The menu offered range of Indian cuisine which was exceptional. The continental breakfast was varied and plateful, and again of the highest quality. This is a real find, and is on our accomadation list for when we next come to London

Lovely rooms, fab bath. Great characterful pub. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the stay. Would recommend. Slight street noise if that’s annoying to you. But wasn’t a problem for me.

I can’t rate The Black Lion highly enough~it’s really a fabulous gem! Our stay started off with a warm welcome from a member of the bar staff. He insisted on carrying my bags all the way to room 9, the Grand Suite. Our room was beautiful. Decor was unique and calming and the bed was huge. Absolutely spotlessly clean as well. The bathroom was so sumptuous, a deep soaking tub, big shower and double basins, beautifully lit. The attention to detail is evident everywhere. We slept so well. One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. We dined in the pub restaurant. I’d say food was sort of like Indian tapas. We really enjoyed it and prices were very reasonable. Again, attention to detail in tbe dining area and bar is second to none, all against a back drop of grade 2 listed architecture, this pub is simply breathtaking with ornate plaster work, fireplaces and screens. A fine selection of craft beers and some interesting whiskies pleased my partner! I can’t recommend The Black Lion enough, it’s really special, visually stunning but enhanced by wonderful staff who were friendly, welcoming and made our stay so memorable! Thankyou!

Third stay at the Black Lion. Gorgeous rooms, great beds and they even have wash cloths. Sumptuous and delicious breakfast and pleasant, helpful hosts. Rooms can be warm in hot weather, but it appears that they are working on solving that problem. Neighborhood looks rough, but is actually quite safe. Reasonably convenient to Underground. I'll go back for fourth stay, next time in London.

The service from management and staff was outstanding. The food was great quality and the room was very comfortable. This was a fabulous place to stay and we would recommend staying here. The transport options are very convenient with the bus stop immediately outside the facility. The tube station is within a very short walking distance.

Had an incredible stay at this property! Beautiful clean fully renovated rooms with original 1898 features remaining. Historic and elegant pub space with amazing and affordable food. The staff made me feel safe, welcome, and important to them. I had a train cancellation while solo travelling as a young women and they gave me the best experience I could ask for. They also have a “garden” space available for smoking after closing which is a HUGE plus for an insomniac traveller like myself. The food for breakfast was plentiful and of exceptional quality. I will definitely be returning.

If you like staying in a place, that is unique from its itinerary, whose staff is incredible friendly and helpful in any way possible and if you looking for a good breakfast, then this is the place to be. Although the Black Lion seems to be a bit far away from all Westminster attractions, you are there in no time by Jubilee overground or bus (bus stops right in front of the hotel, tube is a short walk away). Rooms are nicely renovated with a lot of station to the detail. We had dinner in the pub, but there are lots of opportunities to have international food around the area. Also lots of smaller shops in the neighborhood. The team there is incredible friendly and you can feel, that they love, what they are doing. We would highly recommend this place.

We have stayed at the Black Lion twice and both times were excellent. Our room was large and well equipped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We have eaten at the restaurant. The included breakfast was very nice and we had dinner at the restaurant which was also excellent. We also spent time in the pub which was also nice. The interior is beautifully restored. Although the pub does not open until 4pm, there was a member of staff available to get us checked in much earlier. If you are looking for a tourist experience, this isn't it. On the other hand, if you want a very nice place with a London neighborhood experience, this fits the bill nicely. There is a nice neighborhood park behind the Black Lion which is nice for strolls and the Kilburn tube station is only a 10 minute walk away. Highly recommended. We will be returning.

The staff was amazing! They handled every single detail. They were very friendly and accommodating. The area was nice. Transportation was easy to get to. The Kilburn train station was about a five minute walk. We could take the train anywhere from there. The neighborhood may appear rough initially, but it really is a hidden gem and the people were really friendly. The food in the hotel restaurant was absolutely amazing, best Indian food we’ve ever had. I’m really glad we decided to stay here and hope to come back. It may be tempting to stay right in the heart of London, but staying in this local neighborhood really put a beautiful spin on our stay and this hotel in particular made us fall in love with it.

Real service can be measured as you really need it. We had a problem and the staff handled it great and with care. This is quality. The city center is not around the corner, but nearby because of the several busslines and over-and underground lines nearby. The atmosphere of the hotel, bar and restaurant is great.

This is a wonderful property to look at historically, but unfortunately is pretty far from anywhere you want to go in central London, not the best part of town and I would only recommend for people who are hoping to stay to see a truly beautiful historical inn, and a very nice staff.

Welcoming staff, great room. Location was great after a visit to Wembley stadium. Food choices nearby were good - we went to a pizza independent about 100m away. Continental breakfast in the Black Lion itself was super.

Third stay at the Black Lion. Gorgeous rooms, great beds and they even have wash cloths. Sumptuous and delicious breakfast and pleasant, helpful hosts. Rooms can be warm in hot weather, but it appears that they are working on solving that problem. Neighborhood looks rough, but is actually quite safe. Reasonably convenient to Underground. I'll go back for fourth stay, next time in London.

Super handy for the Jubillee line, especially if you’re going to Lords. The staff were really friendly and continental breakfast buffet is just enough. The bar atmosphere is welcoming and bar food is lovely too. Booked again for next year !!!

We were so impressed with how beautiful the accommodations were. It is all brand new and felt very luxurious. They were quick to make sure we felt comfortable and would immediately resolve any (minor) problems that arose. The rooms were immaculately clean and they provided amenities that were expected (shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, steamer, etc). The breakfast included warm croissants (I think we liked them better than most of the cafes we visited in Paris), chocolate croissants, cereal, bread and jam, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea and my favorite- hot chocolate. We also had Sunday Roast there and it was delicious. It was close to the underground line as well as Hop On Hop Off buses and next to a park. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely stunning pub, with friendly, helpful staff. I requested some extras with dinner to make it special for my partner and they went the extra mile with candles and flowers etc, it was perfect. The food was divine, the sharing plates were stunning. The room was comfortable and beautiful and the bathroom was luxurious. Would definitely recommend and return.

This is an absolute gem of a place. Very easy to get to on the tube Jubilee line). The pub is a beautiful, old, large establishment with plenty of character. We had a warm welcome on arrival by helpful staff. Our room was very nicely appointed, comfortable and roomy. We had our evening meal in the pub rather than the restaurant room, as it was lively and buzzy. The menu offered range of Indian cuisine which was exceptional. The continental breakfast was varied and plateful, and again of the highest quality. This is a real find, and is on our accomadation list for when we next come to London
