The Grand Select

Still undergoing renovations, so breakfast and pool were unavailable. Signage had not yet been updated to match new property name.

They’re renovating so the entrance is bare, the pool is closed, and they weren’t serving breakfast. Basically all the amenities you pay for aren’t available. There’s coin operated laundry and the machines appeared to be in good condition. My room was mostly clean - it appeared like someone put in the minimum amount of effort though. Still a few places like corners of rooms where I’d see scraps of garbage/lint/signs of previous guests. Tile in the bathroom was cracked in multiple places and could definitely hurt someone if stepped on the wrong way. The carpet is old and stained in some places - I’m hopeful the side I stayed on is being renovated next and isn’t the finished version. It was also very odd that the bed didn’t have any full sized pillows on it??? The only pillows in the room were throw-sized. I probably could’ve gone to the front desk and asked for full sized pillows but it didn’t feel worth the effort since those would be just as uncomfortable (not a critique of the hotel, hotel pillows are all trash). For what I paid and what I needed, it did the job. I would consider trying it again when renovated fully. Didn’t really interact much with staff outside of check in/out but the customer service was fine.

This hotel is under MUCH needed construction, which we never told, even at check in. The room number was a piece of tape by the door. The first room we got had a terrible musty smell. There is no individual fan or temp control in the room. None of the wall light switches worked. We had to feel around in the dark to find lights. Then we went to use the bathroom and stepped into a half inch of water, the bathroom was flooded and had soaked the carpet in front of it. The only other room for my teenage son and I was a jacuzzi suite with one bed. We were told the couch folds out. It does not. Our room had: - No working light switches - Paint chipping on the toilet seat and other places in the room - Tear in the couch larger than 2 inches - Paint bubbling up and chipping on the wall - Holes in the wall - There was no wireless available - Our room had an outside light that lit up the room, even with the curtains shut - All the curtains were broken or ripped - Most importantly and shockingly, NO Fire Safety & Evacuation Plans I cannot believe the Hotels.com listed this hotel. I'm so disappointed with Hotels.com and furious with the Grand Select. Will never stay there again

Not great, it was a room though.

It’s under construction, so there will be improvements. Room furniture is extremely outdated, bit that may change as well with all of the work being done.
