To begin with, lets say THIS place should not exist. Small, poor, claustrophobic, gray, no.amenities, no beach, no water-has a pond-like paddle by the marina where all catamarans stay. No understanding what "seevice" means. No food is small, mote-like dining corner. Has no restaurants, no shows. Felt as I arrived into a prison. No a vacation spot where you desire to be as you pay money for your all-inclusive stay. DO NOT BOOK IT!!

O resort tem uma pequena faixa de areia na praia e poucas áreas com guarda sol. As piscinas fecham muito cedo e os restaurantes também. O all inclusive não é o tempo todo, os restaurantes fecham cedo e abrem tarde. E também tem muito barulho perto dos apartamentos.

Comfortable stay, but beach access is limited The hotel was comfortable, with clean rooms and good service. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. However, it’s located near a pier, and the beach area is very small, making it difficult to swim. If you’re looking for a place to relax, it’s great—but not ideal if swimming at the beach is a priority.

Food was horrible says has 3 restaurants only one was opened buffet style they had one night you can order from menu and a steak was an extra $130 even though it’s supposed to be all inclusive. Nothing to do when it rains out. Pools close way to early 6pm and 8pm. Would not stay here again. Beware of the guys selling tickets on beach for ferry if it’s cancelled they don’t give you your money back.

Clean room and grounds. Service staff was hustling while front desk staff was not (didn’t seem to care much). In a safe area even though it’s at the end of the hotel zone. Great paved running path right in front of hotel. Food was varied and tasty. Drinks were non stop. Beach was small and there’s not really a place to actually swim…you wade and do more than anything. Nice hammocks both in and out of the water. Swim up bar was advertised as a jacuzzi but was not warm. Overall a great stay.

Room was basic standard room overlooking an AC and 1/2 brick wall it was facing the street so was noisy at night and difficult to sleep. But I made due since it was a short trip (3 days). Staff at bar/beach/buffet were all very tentative. Need more umbrellas at the beach, had to get there early to secure one. Pool area was clean and had a few activities to participate in during afternoon hours. Overall good stay for the cost

Pools are next to restaurants and bars. The pool in the resort is more standard for swimming, the two shallow pools near the beach are for drink and play. Room is clean. Resort is on the north of the hotel zone and close to downtown (3km, 30-40 minutes walking distance). Buses stops are near by and is easy to go around zone and to the downtown. Money exchange is at southbound bus stop (cross the street) with reasonable rate (Hotel can also make exchange but the rate is only good for taking the bus - 1:16, $3 is good for two round trip bus fares. Downtown stores has better exchange rate, and airport is even better.). Food is so so if you are not stay in the hotel all the time. The restaurants are closed most of days in the week we were there except the buffet :-( Only Sushi is good at Japanese restaurant, then main course flavor is mixed Tai and Korean, not Japanese. The Italian restaurant only served with Pizza.

Staff was awesome! The site advertised a hot tub and they didn’t have one. Also they advertised yoga and only had 1 stretching class for 20 minutes in one week. They advertised 5 restaurants but only had 3. Everything shuts down at 10:00pm- no entertainment or alcohol after 10pm

I was here for 4 nights. For the price, this was 3.5 stars. PROS: - safe location - bar was good - beach access and pool was very beautiful and nice - food hours were great - decently sized rooms - nice balcony for every room - the outside resturant food and breakfast is good - affordable CONS: - the buffet was ok. Everything tasted about the same. Reminded me of my college dining hall ( current college student) - it is a bit hard to get a reservation for their ONE resturant they have. You have to ask guest services in person. It is a bit annoying/ inconvenient because you can\'t call or make a reservation online. I usually spent my mornings outside of the hotel and when I came back, it would be full. - service at the buffet was not consistent. My boyfriend and I were the only ones there and the servers did not ask if we wanted any drinks until we finished our meals. It is not self service beverages. For breakfast, I would not get asked if I wanted a coffee or water like everyone else. I would have to ask myself. - there are ants in the rooms. The housekeeper did come and "get rid of them" but they came back after a few hours. I did not bring food into the room. - housekeepers are not consistent with which time they come clean. Sometimes 10am, others 8pm. They do not come back if you ask them to be back later. Overall, I would recommend this resort if it is in your price range and want nice beach access. Bus stops are nearby.

I did extensive research before booking Cancun Bay Resort and was initially comforted by the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not match the praise. The atmosphere was overwhelmingly dominated by rowdy adults clearly there to party. Inappropriate conversations and foul language were common, even in the presence of children. It was uncomfortable and frankly, gross. Our suite was in unacceptable condition. There was a hole in one of the doors. Even worse, we spotted roaches. The cleanliness and upkeep were far below standard. At one point the water shut off entirely. When we went to the front desk, another guest was already there – furious – because this had happened multiple times during her trip. Friday night at 9 PM, the hotel next door blasted an extremely loud musical show that made it feel like we were sleeping inside a concert venue. I’m Mexican and very familiar with neighborhood celebrations, but this was on a completely different and disruptive level. The food overall was just okay. The one saving grace was the snack bar, which served delicious hamburgers and fries. Sadly, they closed at 5 PM, limiting the enjoyment. If you're traveling with kids, do NOT stay at Cancun Bay Resort. The environment is not child-friendly, the accommodations are subpar, and the disruptions are frequent. If you value comfort, quality, and peace of mind, spend a little more and stay somewhere that actually delivers what it promises.

The property is pretty good, rooms are very basic just a bed and a tv nothing to spectacular. On the first night we requested blankets because the room was cold and we were given two mattress protectors instead of blankets. The next day we requested pool towels and were told that they would deliver the towels to us by the pool. The towels never came. There are two pools as well as an adult jacuzzi area with a swim up bar. The water in the jacuzzi area always seemed to have some sort of white film floating around no matter what time if the day you went. All of the staff at the swim up bar were amazing!! Day 3 our room wasn’t cleaned after coming back from an excursion so we had no clean bath towels or toilet paper. All communications are through what’s app, so I made a request via what’s app for those items I spoke with some who said they would bring them up. An hour later still nothing, so I sent another message that was read and ignored, then another that was read and ignored. I then went to the front desk where I was given toilet paper and pool towels because they didn’t have any bath towels available. Now for the food. There is absolutely nothing edible on the resort. They advertise 5 restaurants on site, during our 5 day stay only 3 of the 5 opened. The buffet was small 1grain option, 1 meat option, a veggie option and a salad bar with NO FRUIT IN SIGHT. I was forced to eat out every meal for the 5 days there because the options are horrible.

This property was amazing! I am still in awe at the cleanliness, upkeep of facilities, staff friendliness, and overall vibe! It was my daughter’s first time in Mexico and staying at a resort and she made so many friends who even taught her how to swim! I look forward to coming back soon. I highly recommend!!!!!

Terrible accommodations, terrible service, the bed sheets were old, my bed had hair on it when I arrived. Toilet barely flushed. 100% do not recommend. Giving only 1 star because the buffet was nice other than that the food was also not good.

I stayed at Cancún Bay Resort for five nights and really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is small but has everything you need — comfortable, cozy, and clean. The atmosphere feels peaceful and welcoming, perfect for relaxing after a day out. The food was tasty with a good variety every day. Overall, a lovely little place in Cancún that I’d definitely recommend!

I usually spent my mornings outside of the hotel and when I came back, it would be full. - service at the buffet was not consistent. My boyfriend and I were the only ones there and the servers did not ask if we wanted any drinks until we finished our meals. It is not self service beverages. The property wasn’t that big but it was beautiful. The standard room was very small you couldn’t walk without banging into the furniture. The shower was the size of small closet amd it had a very small curtain. My room was upgraded and I got a two bedroom room. Beautiful and big. The water from the shower was cold. I have to praise the staff. They were excellent. The staff was very nice and their service was excellent. They cleaned my room everyday. In the dining room and pool staff was excellent. They were constantly asking if I needed anything. The food from the hotel was very good . The only complain I have it’s the entertainment. They don’t have shows. They only have karaoke and a singer to perform three times a week. The singer was great. The hotel it’s at the end of zona hotelera away from others hotels and everything. Nothing around! You have to take a bus to go anywhere. The beach was small but it was kept nice and clean. There were plenty of chairs and umbrellas around to seat and the servers were constantly bringing you food and drinks if you asked. Excellent staff and service. There was fun by the pool with games, Zumba, volleyball, etc. Again I praised the staff. Excellent service!

It was mediocre from the start. Typically if you arrive before check-in you can still use the pool and get drinks. They would not allow us to. We had to go to the beach and wait so that was a bummer. We were travelling with our four kids so they were hungry from flying all night. Eventually I asked can we have something to drink and they let us, but weren\'t exactly thrilled. I was told no bottled water. The food choices were slim. We did like the BBQ dinner, but it was the only meal everyone ate and actually enjoyed it. I was shocked no guacamole at the whole "resort." No mimosas before 11- not a huge issue but such a bummer because it was my birthday and I was looking forward to it. We had the grand suite and it is severely damaged. We travel to Cancun annually and like the area, but this was collectively our least favorite trip. It was still Cancun and vacation so we made the best, but sure wouldn\'t choose to stay here again. Staff at bar/beach/buffet were all very tentative. Need more umbrellas at the beach, had to get there early to secure one. This is the most honest opinion I can give about tgis property, if you gotten a room on the first floor this is a 2-3 star resort. If you have a room on any of the upper floors thid is a 3-4 star resort. Keep in mind I only had the opportunity to stay in one room on the first floor, and one on the third. This was due to the fact that I had been sold on a 4 star experience, but started out with something like a 2.5 star on the first floor. I taled to expedia about the multiple concerns I had had with my first floor room regarding mold, mildew, and what I felt most important not a properly locking patio sliding door. I did attempt to have "maintenance" fix this, but the response I got was dont pull the sliding door so hard. To me that wasnt a sufficient response being that anybody with ill intent is not going to try to jimmy the sliding door nicely. At that point Id had enough and demanded to speak directly to the manager Juan. This is when my trip got better, he had us moved to an upper floor with a nice ocean view, clean, spacious, no mold, no mildew. The way I see it is the lower levels are for the "budget friendly" traveler, or those young enough not to care about having proper accommodations because they are just there to party, in which case when I was a younger travelling party animal the lower level would have been fine. That the short version of what I have to say about the property and room accommodations. This is not a 5star resort, anywhere from 2.5to4 based on room

My friends and I stayed here for spring break and the master suite was great and spacious! The bathroom smelled a little weird but the resort is so beautiful. Food wasn’t that for an all inclusive I would stay here again!

Liked-most staff were very welcoming and accommodating, beach was kept in excellent condition. Specialty restaurants of Japanese, bbq and Italian were great, the service exceptional! Memorized several peoples drink orders through the week, brought another just as you were finishing. Did not like-immediately greeted guest services by an invitation to a time share and weren’t providing service after refusing. We were there as a family and did not want to sacrifice a morning of time we planned to spend with our children, yet were then turned down/misinformed/given the run around to make special restaurant arrangements already included in the package we purchased. The excursions staff member much more respectful of letting us decide/discuss what excision we wanted. Buffet was repetitive, every day mostly same thing or trying to use up supplies from night before. Specialty restaurant nights broke up eating the same meals everyday, basic tasting, limited or no spices. Limited food options at points needing to know when what place was open, what it offered when…not really something you think of on vacation. Food was really the big let down of the week, as a basic example not being able to get guacamole in Mexico was a first time for us after staying several other locations. The other down fall was not on Cancun bay, the resort 2 down that played musics until 2-3am, we kept the windows closed and it was quiet enough to sleep. Just nice to be able to listen to the waves.

We loved our stay at the Cancun Bay Hotel. All the staff took great care of us. They offered tour packages (including a trip to Isla de Mujeres) and we loved everything! My husband and I will definitely be back! We would especially like to thank Alexandre Sanches (front desk agent) who checked us in and out, he provided an extraordinary service!

We had a great experience much thanks to the wonderful and dedicated staff at the restaurant and at the bars. The front desk were not as friendly and the people at the registration desk were pushy with sales. The same people Gave us wrong information about when to register for dinner so we never got to enjoy the bbq or la vista staying there for 5 nights. We kept going in circles and perhaps that could have been a language barrier. Perhaps more friendly and clear communication would help our experience. The hotel was very slippery with the rain coming in. Tough for our aging parents to walk around. We did not have a phone in our room. The AC unit had condensation that would leak inside the room and onto the steps going down onto the floors of the bedroom. Water from the rain leaked into the ceiling of the kitchen. The walls had some water in it for the master bedroom. The cleaning stuff was friendly, and also the gentleman who always came to stock. The drinks was great with so many options in Cancun. We would definitely definitely try another hotel next time.

Friendly staff, I didnt use the amenities much but they were really nice. Everything was so clean and a very good vibe. An amazing trip and will definitely come back again! I left to explore the areas mostly but it was really nice to come back to the Amazing food and beverage options! I like how they rotate the food options and restaurants open. Its a super relaxing environment and most helpful staff ive ever experienced! There are plenty of places to go shopping around and many awesome views. The perfect location. The karaoke was fun to listen to a lot of talented people were singing and elevated the experience. I really enjoyed my stay!

Everyone at Cancun Bay was very friendly, polite and helpful. Leo at the reception area, Rafaela kept our room clean, Anahi and Enrique the waitresses by the pool were on top of keeping us hydrated. Dayana and Dreidis kept us very busy with the games and Zumba. The entertainment was good. I’m definitely coming back! I only wished they had guacamole and chip!!

What I found unique about this hotel is the balance between cost and quality, I think it's fair. Dining options were really nice, hotel's personnel is very helpful, and the facilities and rooms are very nice. I liked that the beach was the best in comparison to hotels nearby.

Pools are next to restaurants and bars. The pool in the resort is more standard for swimming, the two shallow pools near the beach are for drink and play. Room is clean. Resort is on the north of the hotel zone and close to downtown (3km, 30-40 minutes walking distance). Buses stops are near by and is easy to go around zone and to the downtown. Money exchange is at southbound bus stop (cross the street) with reasonable rate (Hotel can also make exchange but the rate is only good for taking the bus - 1:16, $3 is good for two round trip bus fares. Downtown stores has better exchange rate, and airport is even better.). Food is so so if you are not stay in the hotel all the time. The restaurants are closed most of days in the week we were there except the buffet :-( Only Sushi is good at Japanese restaurant, then main course flavor is mixed Tai and Korean, not Japanese. The Italian restaurant only served with Pizza.

The Italian restaurant only served with Pizza.

Hotel was clean and facilities were okay, but the food was very average (and there was not much variety), the service was very average, the beach area was very small and the entertainment was, again, very average. Also we’re unsure if it was the food or ice cubes but we both had upset stomachs from about 24 hours after we arrived until when we left (nothing severe but enough to cause discomfort and inconvenience). It wasn’t horrific for a 3 day stay for us but I wouldn’t want to stay any longer, personally. For us, it felt like more of a 3 star than a 4 star resort.

The all-in was very nice, nice beach, nice pool. The buffet was good as well and open for most part of the day - but on top of the buffet, there was only one à la carte restorant open for dinner, but they don't have enough space for all guest, so you have to reserve a spot each day. To make a reservation, you need to be in line at 8:30 AM at the reception. Also, the tours/activities offered at the hotel, are way more expensive than reserving somewhere else. The hotel is very close to the ferry that takes you to isla mujeres! You can also take the bus to Cancun (12 pesos per person) - much cheaper than a taxi! Recommended for short stays.

I had a nice time! If you go there with the expectations that the property is a little older and the rooms are basic you will be satisfied. I am glad I didnt up upgrading to the ocean view because I dont think it'd be worth it. The service was really great! Very prompt and friendly. I also think the food was good and there was a nice variety.

Food was horrible says has 3 restaurants only one was opened buffet style they had one night you can order from menu and a steak was an extra $130 even though it’s supposed to be all inclusive. Nothing to do when it rains out. Pools close way to early 6pm and 8pm. Would not stay here again. Beware of the guys selling tickets on beach for ferry if it’s cancelled they don’t give you your money back.

Clean room and grounds. Service staff was hustling while front desk staff was not (didn’t seem to care much). In a safe area even though it’s at the end of the hotel zone. Great paved running path right in front of hotel. Food was varied and tasty. Drinks were non stop. Beach was small and there’s not really a place to actually swim…you wade and do more than anything. Nice hammocks both in and out of the water. Swim up bar was advertised as a jacuzzi but was not warm. Overall a great stay.

I go to Mexico twice a year, this is the first time and this hotel and I will NEVER return! We booked this hotel for the 3 bedroom suite option, it was the only good thing. Here are my negatives for the property: 1. Only one restaurant a night open with VERY limited capacity, and only buffet option on Sunday! Get used to the buffet! 2. The buffet serves the same food all the time, and it's literally only 4 main course options for dinner! Extremely limited in selection! 3. Staff in dining area RARELY helps, I always had to track down my own drinks and condiments. 3. Pools are small! and one is basically indoors without a roof over it. 4. All pools close at 8 pm and all bars are closed by 11pm. 5. Only options for in room fridge are water and soda 6. Any name brand liquor is considered high shelf and requires to be paid for! This includes basics like Captain Morgan. The property is clean, there are some good staff, however everything is so limited it's just not worth it! Spend an extra $100 or $200 a person and get 10x the experience!

Had a great time with my family on vacation. Good for the price that was offered.What I wouldn't stay here again only because the buffet wasn't all that great. The restaurants were great. However the buffets could have better option. The activities were nice. Casino night was fun but could have had more tables

The staff was great and very nice. The problem is that the one pool closes and 6pm, the other pool closes at 8pm, the pool bar closes at 6pm, the burger place closes at 5pm, and they also only allow you to get one clean pool towel per day. With the fact that this is a hotel and not a resort, there is not much to do when everything closes early. It seems like this hotel is more designed for the older crowd.
