This was the nicest place we stayed in Sicily. The staff was absolutely the friendliest and best. They gave us free complimentary breakfast each day. Make sure to ask for an ocean-view room with balcony - absolutely stunning vistas, and you can go out and swim in the crystal-clear warm blue waters or sun on the rocks. Hotel is in Ortigia, the trendy island that was ancient Syracuse, walking distance to wonderful restaurants, shops, outdoor cafes, gelato, and all the important archeological sites of Syracuse. This place was a gem! Parking was available nearby. One small warning: no elevator, and rooms are up two or three flights of stairs, but they carry luggage up stairs to you room for free. They also help with getting a shuttle or cab, tour reservations and recommendations. They even have free bicycles you can use to explore the city.

On hotels.com website, they said they has elevator. But they don't. The front desk is on 2nd FL and our room was on 4th FL. The staircases are narrow and slippery. The ceiling above the staircases are low and must bend head to pass. Otegia is a small island. This hotel is far from all the atractions and restaurants. Its name include doumo. I thought it must be very close to catherdral. But it is quite a walk. The amenities in the room is very basic, nearly to none.

Todos en la recepción muy amables. El pero es que hay que subir varias escaleras para la recepción y luego para las habitaciones, no hay elevador. Y aunque los de devoción te ayudan pues no es cómodo. Las habitaciones es son con mobiliario viejo, aunque la cama es cómoda, el baño es no es agradable.

Just a great location with a balcony with incredible sea views! We loved the place! Staff kind and helpful and they went out of their way to help us! No elevator but the staff brought our bags up to the room. So nice! No parking on site, but they have a nearby parking garage staff come and get the car and park it for you. This does cost an extra €20/night but well worth it. We didn’t opt for their €13 breakfast buffet but instead found a great breakfast cafe just down the street recommended by the staff. We were able to swim near the hotel off the sea wall. Water was warm and very clear! Overall a great experience for us!! We would stay there again for sure!!

The Domus Mariae Albergo was an exceptional find! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful in finding parking (an issue in Ortigia), recommending sites to see as well as authentic restaurants patronized by the locals. The room was clean, the linens crisp and bathroom well appointed. We will stay here again when next in Siracusa!

This place is a dream! The location, the views and especially the people. The staff were all so nice and friendly. Such an accomodating hotel. We had a water view and could not get enough of the beauty that surrounded us. The hotel is beautiful. Beds perfect. and They cleaned the rooms daily. Would definitely return some day (from the USA)

Nice location and good sized room. The staff were kind and helpful. I didnt take the breakfast so can not comment on that but there are lots of lovely places to take good breakfast close by. My room could have been cleaner and I informed the staff so hopefully they will ensure it is better in the future.

Hotel was overall very tired, bathroom requres update, toilet seat cheap and wobbled, shower didnt drain properly so showering had to be quick. Kettle had no near socket and had to be plugged into light socket and handle became hot, TV didnt work. Terrace nothing like the picture as most furniture old and broken. Gym not available but some very old pieces of gym equipment were available which we used but doubt it met safety standards. Such a shame as the location was fantastic and the staff were great and really helpful. The entire hotel requires an internal facelift

Myself and my girlfriend stayed her for a short (a few days) trip in Ortigia, and the experience was great. The location is amazing, right on the beachfront near everything, and the staff go above and beyond. We weren't the easiest guests im sure, we had many small, but persistent requests and the staff were consistently friendly, and more than happy to meet our requests with grace and enthusiasm. Our stay in Ortigia was enhanced by the staff at the Dorus Mariae Albergo. I can't comment on breakfast, as we opted to have brunch at a nearby Bistro, but this is in no way a comment on the breakfasts at the hotel; this is simply how we like to holiday. Overall, a wonderful experience here, with wonderful staff in an absolutely beautiful location.

We stayed here for one night and Davide was incredibly kind and helpful. He insisted on carrying our suitcases to our room, gave us a list of local places to see and even gave us bikes so we could tour the city. Our room had a wonderful view of the sea as well.

Domus Mariae Albergó is a gem overlooking the sea in Ortigia. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the sea and the sounds and salt breeze were delightful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was at sister inn across the street Staff were very helpful. Location was close to sea wall but not far - a few minutes walk- from restaurants and shopping.
