The staff are amazing and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is good! However, there’s construction going on… I didn’t get sleep during my entire stay. I wish someone would have told me about this, I wouldn’t have booked it if I’d known. It causes the wifi AND data to stop, and there’s loud banging early in the AM ):

Overall, not a bad place for the price! Unfortunately there is no easy beach access as all the resorts across the road are strict about not letting people through. The breakfast is not great, but has a few decent options. The pool area does not look like the pictures, but was still nice. It felt very safe and clean.

Hotel wasn’t that great. I only stayed 1 night and decided to leave and go to another one the next morning. They started doing construction on the building and banging on walls at 8am. That was definitely something they should’ve waited til afternoon to do when guests are more than likely to be awake already and out of their rooms. On the flip side, the room was only $60, so you get what you pay for basically.

Bell man was rude to my family when they came over to drop off some groceries since we needed to prepare for hurricane Beryl. The room didn’t even have a coffee pot. No microwave or mini fridge or even an ice bucket. The tiny TV set only had a few working channels and was sitting lopsided on the wall. The one working pool was mold infested and the other was a hole in the ground under construction. Oh they charged me an additional fee for what they claimed were state taxes.

Good economy hotel. The pool, pool-side bar and reception are absolutely beautiful. There is an outdoor shower and bathrooms that are also new. The rooms have not been updated as of March 2025 but that’s not what you come here for. A bit more Hot water in the shower and coffee or drinking water would have been nice, but all in all it’s a good economy option that keeps you in the hotel zone.

This hotel was super run down and there was no hot water and WiFi was terrible. This hotel was also under construction so lots of loud noises early in the morning. We didn’t have access to water for an hour due to construction. Honest opinion not worth the stay. The only plus side was the restaurant staff was super awesome and had good breakfast food and were super kind. I payed for inclusive breakfast and they didn’t add that on. The pictures don’t match the quality of the rooms so don’t be fooled. Also another plus side was it’s within walking distance of the beach. Also the resturant to the left of the front of building was super delicious. Hotel staff came to our door after 2 minutes past 12:00 telling us to leave when they said our checkout time was 3:00pm. It’s worth your while to stay at an all inclusive nicer hotel on the beach front. With how much we spent on breakfast every day and meals throughout our trip it equaled the same.

This was our first time staying at Calypso Hotel Cancun. We normally stay at another accommodation nearby, but they were booked for the night we needed. Calypso exceeded our expectations. All of the staff were super friendly. The service was over-the-top. Victor at La Lupe was the best and guided our evening food choices. Cecelia was our breakfast concierge. The food was delicious, again, exceeding our expectations. The room was spacious and clean and QUIET! The pool seemed clean and the pool area was lovely and well maintained. The only suggestions: it would be nice to have a mini-fridge in the room. We had some cold food we had to try to keep chilled with a bag of ice in the sink. Also, it would be great to have a rubber cover over the shower drain/floor drain to help keep down the inevitable sewer gas smell that is prevalent in many places in Cancun. But honestly, there were many places where Calypso shined - so much so, it is our new "go-to" for a few nights off the grid.

I loved the pool. beautiful I enjoyed it a lot. beautiful Lobby. My husband and stayed here before it was remodel and they did a great job. there is not fridge or microwave but we still like the place. we will definitely come back in the future.

Good economy hotel. The pool, pool-side bar and reception are absolutely beautiful. There is an outdoor shower and bathrooms that are also new. We stayed the hotel for six nights. When I checked in front desk, the staff asked for $57 USD cash only saying it's government tax. I insisted on paying with credit card, the staff lost her patience. After I requested to talk with her manager she reluctantly agreed to pay with card. I requested the receipt and found what she wrote was sanitation tax in Spanish, which is different from what she said. There were only bed sheets and no quilt so it was cold the first night. Only when I asked a few times did I get blankets. There were no hair dryer, no microwave, no coffee maker etc. There was limited parking space. No recommended.

todo estuvo bien, en relación con el precio, lo único que el chico de recepcion (no recuerdo su nombre era alto y delgado) en fin, no esta capacitado para atender huespedes, un tanto grosero y arrogante sobre todo al cobrar el impuesto de saneamiento, que hasta hoy no se de que se trato, es un cobro que no te lo mencionan en la tarifa, y si lo hicieran de buena manera no hubiera problema, en fin creo que para unas horas esta mediamente bien, no lo recomiendo para mas de un dia. esta cerca de una tienda, restaurantes y playas, puedes moverte a pie y la playa esta a 5 minutos.

El hotel es bastante antiguo pero está en actualización, por su precio está bastante cumplidor, es amplio y en renovación, solo unos detalles que no me agradaron en la alberca afuerza tienes que consumir lo de su restaurante, si no no puedes consumir nada que tú lleves, y cuando nos íbamos a mi esposa la hicieron esperar en recepción hasta que fuera a inspecciónar en la habitación que todo estuviera completo, en añosss, añossss viajando en ningún hotel, nos había retenido mientras inspecciónaban se me hizo ofensivo, pero fuera de eso todo bien y tranquilo

The room was dirty and had a terrible smell. Despite requesting an air freshener, the staff never provided one. After I shared my concerns, they falsely accused me of staining their pillow and demanded $20, threatening to call the police if I refused. Completely unprofessional—do not stay here. The good: Comfortable beds, nice pool area, good location close to restaurants, a convenience store and a pharmacy. The bad: Wifi is only available in common areas not in the rooms. Hotel is not on the beach, so you will have to cross the main raid and find a pathway to the beach.

Across the street from Xcaret Ferry to Isla Mujeres and a 10 minute walk to the public beach. Newly renovated comon area and pool. Great to be in a quieter part of the Hotel Zone for a reasonable price.

We were impressed with the pool area - large, clean, beautifully landscaped. Not the usual with lounge chairs circling the pool. There was a wading area with water loungers, sections separated with landscape for 2, 4 or more people, and a whirlpool. A standard pool menu, yet the Long Island Tea was delicious. We arrived early and stayed late at a charge of $5.00 per hour. Staff was available to help adjust the water and room temperature. Location was near different price range restaurants, the beach and the Xcaret Embarcadero with the Cancun Tower (a must experience) and Ferry to Isla Mujeres.

Para el precio estaba bueno el hotel. No mas tantito las instalaciones un poco obsoletas. Mucho ruido de la par ya que hacian trabajos en el otro hotel o casa! The best, the font desk and housekeeping personal, the pool was dirty no body wants to jump in, the food was terrible, same menu every day for 6 days!!!, the fruit was old and sour, we complain to the waiters and they don't took well.
