Hôtel agréable avec une très belle vue. Un peu loin du centre si à pied mais une navette. Cependant, le service de navette s’arrête tôt. Deux restaurants mais également, le service s’arrête tôt, 19h30. Le premier soir, nous n’avons donc pas mangé. Finalement, très déçu par le Onsen. Si vous avez des tatouages, vous ne pouvez pas y accéder. Pas d’informations sur le site Hotels.com à ce sujet. Je l’ai découvert une fois sur place. Pas d’information disponible si ils acceptent que les tatouages soient couverts. Malgré tout, l’établissement vous fait payer la taxe du Onsen. J’entends l’histoire et la connotation derrière les tatouages mais au 21eme siècle, il faut avancer… très déçu

I would definitely stay here again when visiting Hakone. Easy and scenic walk along the lakeside from the bus stop or you can take the complimentary shuttle that runs every 20 minutes. The staff both at the front desk and the Japanese restaurant were very helpful and spoke excellent English - we did not try the French restaurant so no review on that. We were checked in very fast and had our luggage held for a few hours after checkout. Food is average, but you can't beat the convenience and the service is top tier. Our room was very spacious and clean with an excellent view for the lake. Unlike most other hotels in Japan, the room had very good soundproofing. Carpeting is dated and a bit worn, but very clean. Yukatas for going to the bath are provided. Make sure to grab a complimentary ice pop after your bath! We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay.

Awesome onsen and beautiful garden. Nice location next to Lake Aishi with a good restaurant and nice little shop. Room was ok, but purposely didn't spend much time in there. Would stay again.

山のホテルは大変落ちつく素敵なホテルなので、何度か利用しています。 ひとり旅でもいい意味でそっとしておいてくれるので、居心地がとても良いところが気に入っていますので、これからも利用したいと思っています。 早朝の箱根神社⛩️参拝も、朝食前のお散歩にちょうどいい距離で、鳥居もまだ静かで誰もいないのも気に入っています。 今回ひとつだけ残念だったのは、露天風呂に蜂の巣が出来たので安全のためにと利用できなくなった事。まあ自然のことで仕方ないですが、 一番の目的が露天風呂でしたので何か損した気分。コーヒーチケットとかショップの割引とか あれば良かったかな？と思いました。

Very nice onsen , beautiful and clean. With a nice view of lit up trees, very peaceful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Most importantly we saw Mount Fuji from the beautiful garden which was the highlight of our visit in Hakone.

Hotel next to the lake with amazing views - service was very good but facilities need upgrading and remodeling. Very limited options to move around unless you bring a car - access to taxi is very limited: options for food at the hotel are limited but we had dinner one of the nights and it was excellent. Japanese breakfast was a unique experience but it is not for everyone.

This is a very luxurious hotel with a nice onsen. Beautiful gardens and incredible view of Mt Fuji if you are on the garden side which I think on the rooms are facing the garden and lake. Nice paths through the trees to the shrine and “downtown” area but don’t plan a run, it’s made of cobblestone type bricks so your ankles would suffer. Shuttle to/from downtown every 20 minutes if you don’t want to walk.

Rooms were very large and had a fantastic lake view! Very clean with many amenities included, my favorite being their traditional onsen. It is open very early in the morning and late at night. It had everything you needed and the outdoor onsen was extremely relaxing and refreshing after a long day hiking. Additionally, I have sensitive skin and my skin did not react to their onsen water, unlike the onsen I tried in Gora. So safe for sensitive skin people! Staff was extremely friendly and responsive. The only downside was that there were 2 high end restaurants that required reservations. Most places in town close at 5pm, so those restaurants were really our only options. However, they had not a single reservation open for the entirety of our staff. We ended up having to walk a mile (in the dark w/ flashlights) to the convenience store every night (~6pm) for dinner. So maybe try to book reservations ahead of your stay! But their amenities and onsen made it very worthwhile!

It is OK. It has a nice location but the hotel is in great need of renovation and modern upgrading. The air in hallways and room was musty probably due to fungus in walls and carpets.

Perfect lake side hotel in Hakone. The oversized room had more than enough space for three of us plus our luggage. The staff was very warm and friendly. We chose not to have dinner at the hotel but we did visit the French restaurant for breakfast and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. The onsen was also enjoyed. Great property and I would definitely stay again.

Unmatched location, all rooms look over the stunning 1930’s garden and magnificent mountains and lake, no bad views! The hotel exudes old world charm, and while some may find this ‘dated’ we found it delightful. The Franco-Japanese -Deco blend carries through to cuisine and 2 fantastic restaurants (though not for the budget conscious). A truly unique and memorable stay. Would come back in a heart beat.

I really enjoyed my time at this stately hotel. The staff are beyond helpful, the room was very comfortable, and the baths were just what I needed after a long day exploring the region. The restaurant was able to accommodate my gluten-free needs for breakfast and the shuttle bus from Motohakone was great. This is a region that needs to be experienced and this is the place to do it in comfort.

Very nice onsen , beautiful and clean. With a nice view of lit up trees, very peaceful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Most importantly we saw Mount Fuji from the beautiful garden which was the highlight of our visit in Hakone.

Very limited options to move around unless you bring a car - access to taxi is very limited: options for food at the hotel are limited but we had dinner one of the nights and it was excellent. This is a very luxurious hotel with a nice onsen. Beautiful gardens and incredible view of Mt Fuji if you are on the garden side which I think on the rooms are facing the garden and lake. Nice paths through the trees to the shrine and “downtown” area but don’t plan a run, it’s made of cobblestone type bricks so your ankles would suffer. Shuttle to/from downtown every 20 minutes if you don’t want to walk.

One thing we didn’t like about is Japanese Breakfast and European breakfast were served in a different room so , there are no flexibility for choice. We had to choose one or the other before you go . Perfect lake side hotel in Hakone. The oversized room had more than enough space for three of us plus our luggage. The staff was very warm and friendly. We chose not to have dinner at the hotel but we did visit the French restaurant for breakfast and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. The onsen was also enjoyed. Great property and I would definitely stay again.

Rooms were very large and had a fantastic lake view! Very clean with many amenities included, my favorite being their traditional onsen. It is open very early in the morning and late at night. It had everything you needed and the outdoor onsen was extremely relaxing and refreshing after a long day hiking. Additionally, I have sensitive skin and my skin did not react to their onsen water, unlike the onsen I tried in Gora. So safe for sensitive skin people! Staff was extremely friendly and responsive. The only downside was that there were 2 high end restaurants that required reservations. Most places in town close at 5pm, so those restaurants were really our only options. However, they had not a single reservation open for the entirety of our staff. We ended up having to walk a mile (in the dark w/ flashlights) to the convenience store every night (~6pm) for dinner. So maybe try to book reservations ahead of your stay! But their amenities and onsen made it very worthwhile!
