One night just staying over after a event, so only basically slept in room, had a sink plenty of space and seating, but had shared bathroom and separate shared shower.

The owner communicated and checked in on us of when we were coming. Was at the door waiting for us and assisted on where we were staying. Make sure if you are staying here to get an on suite restroom if you do not want to share restrooms with anyone else. Will stay there again when we come back to visit.

Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was very small, hairdryer didn't work, coffee/tea was on the floor. Very quiet neighborhood, walking distance to lots of stores. Restaurants, sites.

A nice simple guesthouse to stay in Edinburgh that is close to good amenities that are walkable and close to bus routes. Friendly owner who went out of his way to allow us an earlier check in as we needed a jet lag nap and our flight had been changed.

Lovely stay in Edinburgh. But we had the impression that breakfast was included (wasn't). But we could borrow a mini fridge to store our own breakfast when going away too early to eat out. Small charming house with alot of stairs (good exercise). Service minded staff. Little bit longer from Castle and other areas than expected.

The owners of Menzies are very, very nice. Greeted us at the door and helped us carry our luggage up the very narrow, steep stairs. Location is pretty good. Lots of great neighborhood restaurants and shops. Very quiet and it felt quite safe. Close to the bus lines and easy to take a bus to the old town/castle area as well as Waverely Station. Negatives: The bathrooms and bedrooms are small. Shower was really small. We had a bedroom with 3 beds and it was a bit tight. Would stay again!

Loved the vibe, very nice host , friendly. However didnt like the worn bed spreads And the fact that the cleaner came in while we were out and threw away our empty little scotch bottle collection on the mantlepiece which we were planning to keep as momentoes, was very peeved at this.

The owners of Menzies are very, very nice. Greeted us at the door and helped us carry our luggage up the very narrow, steep stairs. Location is pretty good. The location was fine, although somewhat confusing in terms of directions, even with direct 'Google guidance', given the zig-zag routing to & from, and being farther away from the local public transportation than I anticipated. However, for certain areas, bus transit was closer, and worked out fine. And, areas for dining were within walking distance.
