It's the low-price option in the area and you get what you pay for. Property is being renovated and there is some construction equipment and supplies around. Our room was in the process of being renovated and about 80% complete. Everything was OK, but not great. There was a lot of noise from the guests in the room above us. Woke us up at 7 AM all three days. Doesn't appear that there is any sound-proofing between rooms.

We absolutely loved staying at this hotel/resort and it is now our go to place for sure. We were hoping we could've already booked next year but were told it was too early to do so.

The Sandcastle has become my annual Cape destination. I’ve stayed here at least 6 yrs in a row. While it’s not a “luxury” hotel, it’s always clean and bright. The buildings are older and they seem to be continually working on updating the units. We usually get a queen suite. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen has what you need to prepare meals in the unit. (Note, though, that while the beds are comfy, some of the sofa beds and Murphy beds in the smaller rooms, in my experience, are not. It’s been about 3 yrs since I’ve slept on those, so it’s possible the mattresses could have been upgraded.) You can’t beat the location. The beach is on the bayside and there’s a lot of seaweed, but that seems to be an ongoing issue with any of the bay beaches. Low tide uncovers lots of sandbars and tide pools, great for long walks and shell, rock and sea glass hunting. There’s a free shuttle that goes into town every 30 min (also goes to Truro vineyard, some of the beaches and other locations). The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. Plenty of great restaurants nearby, too. You can catch beautiful sunsets there, but a quick drive to Race Point or Herring Cove allows you to watch the sun dip below the horizon for some of the most beautiful, vibrant sunsets you’ll ever see. I have no hesitation in recommending the Sandcastle for your next Cape Cod visit.

The best of all possible worlds, the beach out your front door, a nice pool out your front. Close enough, but removed from the more crowded, touristy Commercial Street. Happy to have spent a lot of time over the summer, and looking forward to returning.
