Great resort that is family friendly. I traveled with a group of 8 total, one being a child under the age of 7. There were many swimming pool areas. One of which seemed to be warmed, which was nice. There are also many Jacuzzis spread around the swimming pool area which was also nice. The resort has an inflatable bouncy house on the Ocean in shallow waters, which was a great touch for the children and adults. They offered kayaking and paddle boarding with life jackets at no additional cost. The food in the buffet was just OK. The "cuisine" restaurants were a lot better. Be advised, that if you have the all-inclusive, they give you "receipts" to sign. They are not an actual charge, but rather a paper trail for their internal purposes. My husband didnt know this when he went to grab a few drinks at the bar and ended up paying for the drinks thinking he was being charged. Just an FYI. Everyday, they placed snacks in your room at no cost and stocked it with refreshments and beer. This is a great family resort but lacks much entertainment for adults. It is also a bit of a distance from the airport compared to the Hotel Zone hotels, but you know this when you look at it on the map. They do offer shuttle service options to and from the airport, which we took advantage of for decently priced fee. Overall, a great resort.

Great food, great staff, lovely property. My only negative was that the gym was in the basement hidden away with no windows, no wifi for my work out apps. lol. Definitely could use an upgrade there.

The ocean view was perfect. Since the hotel has auto black out drapes you can lean over press the button when you wake up and look at the beautiful ocean. The spa was incredible. Expensive but worth it.

Room was excellent, food options were diverse and very good for all-inclusive. Staff was very friendly. Views were amazing. Kids really enjoyed the water float. Older kids really appreciated having the gym. Jose was very understanding when my husband and I both thought we each settled our drink/food bill at the pool which I later came down and settled. The all inlclusive options were quite impressive with very few items excluded as premium. My son loved the smoothie menu at the breakfast buffet, which was also very impressive in selection and quality.

They rocked it in the rooms! We loved the personal items and snacks and drinks that were replaced daily and included in the resort fees. The pools were quiet even though there were kiddos swimming around. LOVED that the pools were open after dark! YES!!!!

Resort, Staff and Service were all Fantastic!!! They have got to solve the Pool Chair “Saving” issue!!!! You come down to pool at 8:00am and towels and books are everywhere with no people in sight. They need to enforce their own Rules, after an hour REMOVE people belongings so people who are actually at the pool can use the Chairs!!!!!!

Pros: The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The staff members are kind, attentive, and very hardworking. Service was excellent everywhere, and the food was magnificent. Every restaurant exceeded expectations, but reservations are needed. The pool area is huge and spotless, and the grounds are well kept. I loved my room, and the bed and linens were very comfortable. The bracelet system for room access, closing tabs, and leaving tips was extremely convenient and eliminated the need for cash.Cons: The beach was not the best due to sting rays, seaweed, and fish. My main concern was being repeatedly asked who I was traveling with. As a single mother traveling with my two daughters and my mother, this made me feel vulnerable. I later had $150 stolen from my purse while I was in the pool with my children. My purse was hidden under towels, and the resort was not busy, so I sadly feel it may have been coordinated by staff. Even the concierge reacted with surprise when I said it was just us, which added to my discomfort. I reported the theft to security and explained the entire situation, but since it was the day before checkout, there was no follow up or contact from a manager. I was only told that this was the second report they had ever received. Overall, I still had a great time and would recommend the resort, but I advise guests not to leave valuables unattended. I also encourage the hotel to avoid asking guests who they are traveling with and instead ask a

The hotel is very clean and pretty. Staff is nice. Family friendly was so so wished they had some water slides. Kids tried the wipeout but that didn’t last much. The wipeout is the inflatable on the water. Kayaking was fine with an adult of course. Paddle boards are from 16 yrs old. Snorkeling was ok. Seaweed and dark water ruined it. Went at end of September and the beach was meh. Had maybe two days at the end with clear water. Seaweed smelled and ruined the beach stay. Pool and property is beautiful. With it being a hybrid resort and us having all inclusive it was kind of enoying with workers Asking to kind of “pay” or close the check with the balance being zero. When ordering food the room number is being asked every time. Compared to other all inclusive where they don’t bother with that. Davino is very nice Italian restaurant. For some reason the evening buffet was closed with a dinner show not available. Just restaurants in the evening. 4 to choose from. One other negative thing was mosquitoes. They just eat you up. Zama which is an open restaurant had a spray available to use. Just as the sun sets the mosquitoes come out. They told us we can buy spray at their market. Overall it was a very nice stay. I highly recommend.

Love this property, the staff were wonderful. The room is spacious and cleaned on the daily! The pool area was divided up nicely and the restaurants meals were top tier! Room service was restaurant quality every time (minus the fast food and pizza). The only complaint is the internet was not up to par, but other than that everything was amazing! Going back again soon!

Overall satisfied-The only downside during our stay the resort was infested by mosquitoes. Our room had a leak on our first night coming from the AC vent, mosquitoes inside our room every time we ask to service our room-i believe they leave the room open the whole while they were cleaning the room.

The cleanliness of the resort is remarkable. The staff go the extra mile to ensure that every inch is spotless. The issues I had were: the wifi was not great (was down for the first few days), the food (quality, variety, restaurant, order-in,etc) need significant improvement and there are not a lot of activities especially for families with kids under 4. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The resort was clean - from the rooms to the pool and beach ! The food was good , it just took a while to figure out what worked well for us. The breakfast was 10/10 , sooo many options & kid approved. It was noted to us that we came during a less crowded tourist time (mid August) so just a small tip. This is a more secluded hotel - not in Hotel Zone but you can take taxis around Cancun. If you’re looking for partying this may not be the right fit for you. This is a place to unwind, be with family & friends. We will DEFINITELY be coming back !

The space is really nice and the pools are great! Most of the waiters are very kind and enthusiastic. The problem we had was with the service. Our living room shower wouldn't turn off and only poured out extremely hot water. Maintenance was in our suite until 1 am. The shower wasn't fixed so we had to sleep with the running shower making noise and making the suite damp. Maintenance showed up again at 8 am and there was a pool of water in our living room starting to go to the bedrooms. When we went to the front desk to ask for a refund for that one night, the employee simply said no. When we asked if there was anything else they could do for us, she kept offering for us to change rooms. We kept saying that the room was cleaned and fixed at this point so there was no need. She kept offering it as if it was a benefit (it would be the same type of room, not an upgrade). Throughout this interaction, she was smirking and going back and forth to a supervisor in the back that never came out to talk to us themself. Finally, we were given a $100 credit to our room. Given that we were a suite of 5 people, we felt a little disappointed. Some minor inconveniences were waiters being pushy about tips, our drinks not being restocked daily, and housekeeping ignoring some requests.

The air conditioning did not work both days. I stayed there and they would not put me in another room or refund my money or even give me compensation of any sorts. I was also placed next to the water tanks, which were loud all day and night. I would stay away from this property until they get new management.

The view was perfect from the hotel room, and the front side of the hotel. The hotel room was always immaculate. The balcony had a hammock and a stunning view. Kitchen had everything needed to cook meals. Staff were very understanding, patient, polite and helpful.

I made again, the typical mistake of accepting a mediocre breakfast for listening to a "membership" presentation. Despite telling them we are going to say no to any offer, they said it didn't matter, etc. Well, at the last moment, the inevitable hard faces were shown by the sales team, specially a not very nice supervisor who was impolite. What a bad experience! Because of him I will never return nor recommend any of my relatives or friends to go there. He won! :)

I thought the service was excellent! By the pool waiters were there to get you anything you could want. The accomodations were also excellent. We stayed in the 2 bedroom with 5 of us and it was more than enough space. The balconies were huge and a great spot to unwind. The food at the buffet was top.notch and each night had a different theme. The food was of the highest quality. If I had to be a bit critical, I wished there would have been a bit more activity wise for the kids. The pools were great but that got a bit repetitive for our kids. The giant inflatable was not quite the same as what was advertised. Maybe invest in some more life jackets that are kids sized. As mentioned before the food was top notch but a few more options wouldn't have hurt. Also room service was ok but often super backed up. All in all a great laid back vibe. Would go back with adults but might look for something a bit more kid centric if I were bringing the family again

Absolutely incredible! Best. Resort. Experience. Ever. If you are trying to decide where to go for your all-inclusive vacation, look no further. This is the place! From the moment we arrived, we (regular people) were treated like royalty. We were greeted with cold cloths, sparkling wine, and helpful guidance. We were celebrating a milestone birthday, and we communicated that to staff throughout our stay with incredible results. That initial amazing treatment and level of service continued throughout our four-night stay. Every interaction with staff was warm and responsive. Each day brought a new unexpected kindness. The staff was very helpful. Everytime we needed any additional towels, or bedding they were at our door quick. We enjoyed all the restaurants. Our poolside server Renan, was by far one of the best servers we had the pleasure of assisting us during our 6 night stay. He was still very attentive while assisting others and even greeted us by name. Our family really enjoyed our time at Villa del Palmar.

You can’t go wrong… My teenage daughter and I went from Christmas’s Day to New Year’s Day. The resort was impeccable. Although we were there 7 nights, we only spent two days at the resort’s pools and beach. The other days, we went to Isla Mejeres (sp?) on the ferry that’s next to the hotel, Xel Ha (amazing!) , Horseback/ATV/Zipline/Cenote, downtown Cancun, and snorkeling. Felt very safe off property even took local bus downtown for $1 instead of $80 cab ride each way. So, unless you want to walk to the clubs, book it.

The balcony was very spacious in the 1 bedroom condo. We enjoyed meals out there as well as the hammock. The condo itself was spacious and decorated well, with a washer/dryer combo which I really appreciated. Take note, this resort is in Punta Sam not Cancun as advertised. The weather was TERRIBLE and we were forced to spend most of our stay in the condo. I noticed little small bugs crawling around on the night stands in the bedrooms. And no, I wasn't eating any food in the bedroom. It wasn't a big deal, as I noticed these little bugs crawling around other areas in the resort. I did what I did with the others, killed them with my shoe and kept it moving. Well, it wasn't until I packed my suitcase that I realized these small bugs were crawling everywhere on my suitcase and throughout. The bellman noticed them as well and said they were small ants and they won't hurt anything. I called down to the manager Carlos and they sent him to my room. He insulted me by stating they don't have bugs and I'm must have brought them with me. It was unbelievable. There are bugs everywhere in Mexico. Between the biting flies, mosquitos and apparently ants, I was insulted. Once I showed my displeasure for being insulted the manager tried to say he wasn't trying to insult me while simultaneously telling me they don't have bugs. All this while I have video of the little bugs crawling throughout my bag which I had to unpack, shake and repack just minutes before leaving for the airport.

Villa del Palmar was an awesome family property. LOTS of families, so if you’re planning on coming to this property w a goal to have a an adult or elevated experience, I’d suggest trying their sister property nextdoor, Garza Blanca. We’re a family of 4 with kids ages 7 and 10, VDP was perfect. We only left the resort 2X for excursions but stayed on property for 7 full days. There are no “clubs” or evening experiences for adults aside from local musicians nightly at an open air stage-that’s at Garza. There’s Legends the sports grill that has a bar frequented by Millennials (40-60 yr olds). There is NOTHING around the property entertainment or restaurant wise and taxis are grossly expensive. (A 10 minute 8 mile ride was $65 USD) You can wait for the bus but it’s inconsistent schedule, often crowded & poor bus stand. Staying w/o doing All-Inclusive is a huge fail. We were all inclusive for the duration of our stay, but on our last we paid out of pocket for the ocean grill, Bites; 4 chicken tenders, a personal pizza & cheeseburger w beer = $74 USD. My biggest disappointment in the experience overall was the inability to personalize. It was a milestone bday trip for me & my husband asked for our suite to decorated, similar to what you see in photos (A towel decoration, rose petals, etc) After speaking to Concierge AND a manager he was refused. He asked to purchase a cake & was told to eat in a restaurant. Rappi failed to deliver his order properly so I literally had nothing.

What an amazing resort experience! Everything from the food to the service to the rooms was top-notch. Our room was cleaned daily, and one of the best perks was being able to order lunch and drinks right from the pool. The beach is just steps away, and it was well maintained. They cleared the seaweed daily,ñ. We chose the all-inclusive package, and if you're someone who loves to eat and drink (like we do!), it’s 100% worth it. They still provide receipts showing what you would’ve paid without it, and every one of ours said “covered - AI,” which was super reassuring. We had no surprises at checkout. A tip: follow the advice in other reviews and book your dinner reservations early. The restaurants fill up fast. All are great! You can’t go wrong with any of them. I’ve stayed at two other resorts in Cancun, and the food here is the best by far. The steaks are not dry. The food has flavor. The drinks are not watered down. I also loved the free water activities. They offered paddle boards and kayaks, and it was such a fun and easy way to enjoy the water. This is a family resort. PROS: We enjoyed the whole resort. It wasn't too small or too big. The rooms were super spacious, clean, and safe. The beds were amazing. The extra bathroom off the kitchen was so nice. The balconies were so spacious with the tables and hammocks. The washer and dryer was an added plus to come home with clean clothes. All the restaurants were great, but you need a reservation to any restaurant except the buffet. The buffet is the only place to eat for breakfast, but it is exceptional. It is not open for dinner on Thursday or Friday evenings.The food and drinks were delicious everywhere. CONS: The biggest con at this all inclusive resort was having to sign your name and room number on a receipt every time you ordered food or drinks anywhere. Even though you are at an All-Inclusive resort, they require you to do this. On each receipt is a line for adding additional gratuity. However, it states when you make the reservations that the resort is an all inclusive resort and ALL tips and gratuities are included. We noticed as the week went on that if you did tip they remembered and gave you better service. If you didn't tip, they remembered too, and it showed. I feel like tipping should be something that is optional to do on your own, not on a receipt multiple times a day. In addition, the beach is full of seaweed, but they do clean it constantly. The workout room is down on the basement level and smelled musty. Every morning all the lounge chairs at the pool are reserved by 7AM.

Property was well kept. Staff was friendly. Food was amazing at all of the restaurants. Davino was our favorite. Eduardo was a great server during breakfast and Wilem provided great service at the pool.

Pros: The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The staff members are kind, attentive, and very hardworking. Service was excellent everywhere, and the food was magnificent. Every restaurant exceeded expectations, but reservations are needed. The pool area is huge and spotless, and the grounds are well kept. I loved my room, and the bed and linens were very comfortable. The bracelet system for room access, closing tabs, and leaving tips was extremely convenient and eliminated the need for cash.Cons: The beach was not the best due to sting rays, seaweed, and fish. My main concern was being repeatedly asked who I was traveling with. As a single mother traveling with my two daughters and my mother, this made me feel vulnerable. I later had $150 stolen from my purse while I was in the pool with my children. My purse was hidden under towels, and the resort was not busy, so I sadly feel it may have been coordinated by staff. Even the concierge reacted with surprise when I said it was just us, which added to my discomfort. I reported the theft to security and explained the entire situation, but since it was the day before checkout, there was no follow up or contact from a manager. I was only told that this was the second report they had ever received. Overall, I still had a great time and would recommend the resort, but I advise guests not to leave valuables unattended. The food and property were great. Our biggest issue was trying to get dinner reservations at the different restaurants. We tried 3 weeks in advance and could only confirm 3 for 7 days. Two of the times were ideal for the family 5:30-6pm. Our other reservation wasn't until 9pm. Only restaurant we weren't too impressed with was La Casona. Food was great everywhere else including the room service 😊

We really enjoyed the room. It was very spacious with a king sized bed. Two large bathrooms. Great service. The resort is gorgeous and well maintained. Lots of pools to choose from with lots of palm trees for cover from the heat. Beach was great and despite lots of seaweed washing up on shore, the resort was quick to clean it up multiple times a day! Lots of loungers to choose from including cabanas. Can easily reserve a chair in the morning which was great. Very family friendly. The food was outstanding. The breakfast buffet was incredible. I would come back. Highly recommended.

What a dream vacation! Our suite was perfectly sized, giving everyone space for family meals, relaxing, or privacy in their own bedrooms. This was our first time to an all inclusive package in Cancun, and as a family with 2 little kids, not having done this before, I was a bit anxious. With that said, today as we are leaving Cancun, we are sad to leave as the kids had a lot of fun, and the stay was incredible. The staff were polite, welcoming, and always attentive to every little detail. The food was delicious and plenty of choices for us. We were upgraded to a room with an ocean view and it was gorgeous. The room was clean, very well maintained, and very spacious as space is what I need for my family. I shouldn’t even call it a room as it was more like a one bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms. The apartment was quiet and no matter what was happening outside, or next door, I never head anything and we slept pretty good. All in all, pretty pleased and quite a beautiful experience. I highly recommend.
