Staffs are wonderful, and Very fluent in English. They go above and beyond to help customers. I am not particularly good at tech. The staffs helped me downloaded, selected right plan for our Hakone free pass. They also make sure we know the time of our bus. Both the indoor, and outdoor hot springs are beautiful. The restaurant, the breakfast, and dinner is both authentic as well as delicious. Everything is an amazing experience.

What a beautiful hotel! Friendly staff, easy check in, reservations made for dinner and breakfast. The restaurant food and service was 5 stars. I got to try their kaiseki meals for 2 nights. Sukiyaki dinner with many sides that were grilled, and steamed the first night. They have burners and chafing pots on your meal table. The breakfast sets were also a feast for the eyes. The public onsen was easy to use, lockers, shower & wash stalls and bathroom amenities to look your best. My single room did not have a shower, but the public onsen more than made up for it. The light smell of incense sitting in 104 deg temps was spiritual as the wet snow was falling thru the foliage. The two daily meals and public onsen was worth the room rate.

Out of the way but still very worth it. I loved the traditional vibes the whole onsen had. Private Onsen is magical. Dinner was amazing. Got an on site massage. It was very good, might not be for everyone as their massaging pressure is hard. Perfect for me though since I was walking all over Japan.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here, food was very good and the room was large and traditional. The bath area was ok but nothing amazing. There wasn’t any view from the room or lobby area, no grounds to walk or sit outside.

Mount View Hakone exceeded our expectations! We stayed for two nights in a Japanese style room and had breakfast and dinner. The meals were amazing with huge variety, giant portions and made using high quality ingredients. All meals were different each day and the service was excellent. The public and private onsens were very nice. The public onsens are gender separated and open 23 hours a day with both a regular indoor heated bath and an outdoor natural hot spring bath. There are a few private onsen rooms that you can book on the same day from afternoon until late evening. There was plenty of availability for a private bath on both nights of our stay. I would recommend booking a private onsen as its a nice experience. The room was much bigger than we expected with a futon floor bed and a tatami floor with sliding windows overlooking the mountains. You're provided with Yukatas and slippers that you can wear throughout your whole stay. There is a private toilet in the room, which wasn't very clear on the listing, although there is no shower in the room. The area is a bit out of the way from the main tourist attractions but there's a bus included in the Hakone free pass that stops right outside the hotel. Google maps was a bit rubbish around Hakone compared to other cities so you might want to add a bit of overhead to your travelling plans as it took us a while to figure out how to get there from Odawara station using the free pass. Highly recommend!!

Vegan breakfast and dinner set was amazing. Staff speak English (didn’t understand my Japanese at check in actually although I haven’t had that issue anywhere else.) The bath is open 24 hours a day so when jet lag woke me up at 3 AM I went down and had a bath. The open air bath is wonderful. My only complaint is if you pick the cheaper economy room it’s very noisy due to doors opening and closing below you.

Amazing gem! Nice small public osen bath. You can book a private one. They also offer pressure point massages that can be booked at front desk. Food is awesome! Got to try alot of local ingredients.

Mount View Hakone was a beautiful hotel and I so wish we’d had more than one night in it. I’ll definitely try to return, especially to explore the mountainside towns. There was some signs of age and some times where I found some hair or the like in places but otherwise perfect.

Si vous cherchez un Ryokan traditionnel qui vous fera vivre une expérience mémorable, vous n’êtes pas au bon endroit. Aucune ambiance typique, des onsen payant, des repas décevant, et près de la route avec du bruit (oui même dans les onsen payant …). Néanmoins, le mount view Hakone reste un bon hôtel, propre et pratique mais n’est pas le Ryokan que vous espérez.

清潔感のあるホテルでした。コンパクトながら、ロビー売店もきれいに整ってます。お風呂が、想像よりも良くて。露天は天然温泉とのこと、温泉らしいお湯加減が気持ち良いお風呂だった。少しだけ白濁があり、もっと濃ければなお良いだろうけど。これはこれで良し。火照った身体を涼ませる椅子などがあっても、良いですね。食事も手作りを感じるメニューで、丁寧に作られていました。ボリュームは、普通。お酒の種類があまりなかった。売店で売っている地ビールが食事処でも選択できるとなお良い。

チェックイン前にも関わらず、雨が強く、バスが止まったから辿り着けるかどうか確認のご連絡をわざわざくださり、一旦チェックインしてから外出して食事に行こうと予定していましたが、バスが止まるくらいひどいなら、食事を済ませてからにしようかなどと、予定が組みやすくなりました。従業員さんは親切丁寧で、私が予約人数を間違えたのですが、快く対応してくださり、チェックアウトが7時半〜ですが、雨でイベントに間に合わないかもしれないので、7時に出たいと申し出ましたが、快く対応してくださいました。お風呂は清掃が行き届いていて、アメニティも整っていて、とても快適でした。一人で大浴場に入っていたので、従業員さんが入って来られたのは一瞬びっくりしましたが、清掃が行き届いているのだなと安心しました。

Going to a ryokun is a must-do when you go to Japan and Mount View Hakone knocked it out of the park! it is right by a bus stop so it is convient to get to. The tatami rooms are so big and had TV and wifi! They had a tea set and tea you could make in your room! They even provided us with Yukatas to wear to the onsen. To my American pals there are no showers in your room so you have to use the onsen to wash. However, if you get there early or late enough there are family onsen rooms which let you shower and go in an onsen privatly. (it's like family bathrooms) You can also reserve private onsens with beautiful views like a bamboo forest! Me and my friend had a relaxing and fun time. I wish I could of tipped the staff but I know it's not culturally appropriate. Everyone was super polite and there were english instrutions in the room which really helped! Would definatly go again!

Skønt sted til afslapning og afveksling fra metropolerne. Ny nød bjerglandskaberne, den gode stemning og udsigten fuldt ud. Selvom man skal med en bus en del vej fra stationen (stopper lige udenfor), var det et dejligt afbræk at træde ind på dette hotel/ryokan. Dejligt stort værelse med alt vi havde brug for (en anelse slidt, men det gjorde ikke komforten mindre). Personalet var utrolig venlige og hjælpsomme! Vi kan også klart anbefale at prøve deres private onsen og den traditionelle middag (hvor man virkelig får smagt mange forskellige retter!).

Very nice hotel. Loved the staff. They accommodated us so well even after having some trouble and checking in late. Our room was beautiful and luxurious with a splash of traditional culture. Able to instantly relax with one of their reserved private onsen, which was incredibly scenic and soothing btw. We purchased the half board dining experience and did not regret it one bit. The food included many varieties of traditional Japanese dishes. Conveniently located near convenience stores and bus stops. Nice quiet area with beautiful scenery. Would not hesitate to come back here on our next trip.

Perfect for what we needed: a place to stay overnight in Hakone. We opted for the private onsen and dinner. They were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions as well, which was a plus! The room was spacious and clean, but the pillows were extremely uncomfortable. There is not a lot around but the busses were easy to navigate and stopped right in front of the hotel.

This place was fine. It was a little difficult to get to via public transportation. The service was a little bit odd - the staff seemed stressed out which did not make for a very relaxing experience. They also contacted us multiple times prior to our arrival to ask about our travel plans even when we had not determined them yet, and it felt a bit stressful to have to communicate back and forth. The food was good and the baths are nice. We had massages in the room which was enjoyable and convenient. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The private bath for two was very enjoyable.

We loved our stay here. The man checking us in was so incredibly kind and warm and welcoming. He guided us to the most gorgeous spot nearby in the town and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip. He also made us origami to take home with us! He really made us feel welcome. The whole experience here was so nice. The room was great, the meal was excellent, and the onsen was divine. I wish we had more time at this spot and hope we can visit again!

The crowded hour bus ride up a crazy windy road was not ideal. Once you got to the hotel there wasn’t much to do without have to ride that crazy bus ride back down the mountain. I made the best of it and enjoyed the mineral baths and a in room massage. The staff at this hotel outshined all the rest of my accommodations in Japan. A friendly smile leveled up The entire experience!

While somewhat out of the way of most of Hakone's attractions, Mount View is located right by a bus stop, making for easy enough transit (though you can expect the busses to get pretty busy, especially on weekends).
