It was a really nice experience. It was great that we had to take our shoes off at the entrance it really sets the vibe tha this is a true Ryokan. The room was super clean and well thought out. The facilities overall were excellent as well. Onsen was super clean and the Yukatas that they provided were fun and comfortable to wear during our stay.

There’s two buildings. The new building is all self check in meaning you have to scan the passport yourself. I personally found that annoying after paying quite a bit of money for the stay. After check in, no one tells you anything including where the dinner/breakfast is at or the public onsen is at. There’s a shuttle service to Gora but you have to reserve it way ahead of time. We messaged the hotel and got no response. We have two young kids with two luggages, and that was a bit of a walk. Also, if you stay more than one night, don’t expect to get your room clean. Apparently, there’s no room cleaning. On the positive note, the dinner and breakfast were delicious. Beds and blankets were very comfy.

All staff were very friendly, the facility was clean, and there were plenty of amenities. The outside hot tub was very nice. The hotel is located far from Gora Station. If you have large luggage and need a ride to the station, you should book the hotel ride as soon as you check in. Otherwise, there are no taxis available in the morning.

Loved our stay here. Took the tourist train and cable car into Souszan then called hotel for shuttle. Lounge wear provided and most guest wore to meals. Wonderful food. Beautiful room with private onsen. Took Hotel shuttle the next morning took us back to Souszan (to walk is 18 minutes up steep hills), and from there, we took Ropeway to lake Ashi and rode boat across the lake. Get the Free Pass to enjoy moving around the area.

両親と主人と2部屋利用させていただきました。部屋に置いてある1点1点がこだわりのものだと感じました。外に露天風呂があり気軽に入浴でき、主人はもちろんのこと意外にも両親も喜んでいました。ディナー・朝食もとても美味しかったです。エコの観点から櫛や歯ブラシが有料のためその点だけ注意が必要です。なくてもホテルの売店で購入できます。また、愛犬ともとまれるホテルのようです。私達は犬を飼ってないので鳴き声や部屋の汚れ、匂いなど行く前は少し心配でしたが、静かですし、汚れや匂いもなくとても綺麗な部屋でした。匂いに関してはすごい良い香りがホテル内しました。

The private onsen was phenomenal and the room/bed was so spacious and comfortable. We chose a room in the separate building, not the main one. I’m glad we did because the main building required shoes off and all luggage had to be wiped before entering because the entire place is lined with tatami mats. Minor inconvenience but I prefer not to have to take my shoes off everytime. The dinner was delicious and so was the buffet breakfast. They were also very accommodating with my dietary restrictions for the dinner set menu. The view from the restaurant was so beautiful too.

The outdoor private onsen was exactly as advertised and was very nice, however not much of a view and it looks like someone just scrapped off the foggy glass shading. There was quite a bit of mold around all the outdoor shower and tub areas but I suppose that is to be expected with the outdoor amenities? Otherwise the room was spotless and really nice.

Overall 6/10. The biggest plus was the open air bath, which you could adjust the temperature for, and had a nice view. The front desk staff were not as welcoming as I would have expected, and did not seem to want to explain things further. i.e. if I asked about the shuttle bus, they told me to refer to the tablet. The dinner was nothing special, but they do give you a different menu if you stay more than one night. The facility was clean however many of the equipment with metal in it had rust and mold on it which was unsightly to see, especially in the shower. The shower also for some reason did not go above a lukewarm temperature despite being turned all the way to the hottest setting.

I really liked this place! I booked a room with a private bath, and it was a treat for myself, as it was very expensive. But I found, though was the bathroom, had dark splatter, and just general filth on the wall, which I was quite surprised at, considering the room was very clean otherwise. It really threw me off and it made me feel like it wasn’t worth the almost $700 I paid for the two days. The staff were great. It’s a very difficult place to get to. I wish they had told me that they had a shuttle bus And which metro station to be at but they didn’t I had a really long walk in the dark trying to find it on my own. A word of warning as well. They keep the place extraordinarily hot. I’m Canadian, and I found that 20° was too hot in the room and I couldn’t control my AC settings which I found upsetting, and the hotel itself was just kept at an astronomically hot hot temperature so if you like cold and if you want to enjoy your Spa bath this might not be the place for you because it’s very hot

Beautiful property and a very spacious room. Would highly recommend upgrading to a room with an outdoor soaking tub (WORTH IT). Bed was comfortable but difficult due to it being two beds pushed together so there is a small gap in the mattresses. Excellent lighting and sitting area in the room. Breakfast had a wide variety of options with a mix of western food and Japanese food but taste was average. Shuttle service is available but very busy so slots filled up quickly.

Leider schlaflose Nacht statt Erholung: wir hatten leider ein Zimmer, in dem konstant ein störender Brummton aus dem Bereich des Gartens zuhören war, der uns den Schlaf geraubt hat (Es gab auch keine Ohrstöpsel gegen den Lärm). Eigentlich war der Aufenthalt als Erholung geplant und das Private Bath auf dem Balkon und das mehrgängige Essen sowie der Shuttleservice waren auch gut. Gestört hat uns auch der Check In Prozess. Insgesamt leider nur 3 Punkte und wir würden diese Unterkunft auch nicht wieder buchen.

Our private onsen was not hot in the morning. We planned to take one before and after breakfast before we checked out and was not able to which was quite disappointing. Booked this room for the private onsen and it was quite a lovely experience. We brought our luggage to them early in the morning and asked them to hold it until our check in so we could explore and after we checked in and made it to our room they sent someone to bring the luggage up. There was a breakfast buffet included with our room and it had a really nice variety of foods from western to Japanese. Staff spoke great English

The complimentary shuttle was impossible to get a hold of so had to walk up the hill with luggage to get to hotel. When speaking to management about it, they were rude and basically said I have made a mistake calling. It was not clear we had to book the shuttle for leaving the hotel, so when confronted they again could not help us. Beautiful room but disappointed in service

The hotel was fine but did not feel we got value for our money. It was about a 25 min walk uphill to get to the hotel. We only had small backpacks and still found the walk challenging. We took a bus to hotel after a day of sightseeing but it was packed so getting any luggage on would be difficult. Definitely take a taxi if you have luggage. We took the complimentary shuttle back to the train station the next morning but you had to book early before the seats fill up. We paid for the included dinner and it was overrated for what we paid for it. Breakfast buffet was good but our hotel in the Yumoto area also included breakfast and that hotel was half the price and we enjoyed it more. I would probably pass on this hotel and dinner here if I had to do it again. We used both the public and private room onsen. Both were good and the public one was not busy when we went. I don’t think we would pay extra for the private room onsen the next time.

There really isn’t anything nearby our hotel. no convenient store. It is very quiet and peaceful. Be mindful of this before you book in Gora Otherwise this place is exceptional. It is very clean. We were stunned by the interior design and lighting design. Everything feels brand new including both main building and Ayakan, which is where we stayed. Dinner were 6 course meals. Food came very fast and we have our next course within seconds of finishing our previous course. Would

The hotel is pretty nice and super friendly staffs but no taxi service,very very limited restaurant around the hotel.we had to walk to restaurant but well everywhere is hills.I don't know maybe July is not the season,so most of restaurants closed early.you should eat dinner before you visit.or there is only sushi(omakase restaurant inside of hotel.closed 8pm. But the breakfast is good

What an excellent space for a quiet vacation. It's a bit far from shopping but they have free shuttle to go to Gora station or to Sounzan station. Room is spacious in the newer annex building. A little pricey but it is luxurious.

We nooked 3 rooms with private onsen for our family trip. The room was beautiful and relaxing. The bed and pillows were a bit hard for my taste, but we were so relaxed after the bath that we slept well. The included dinner was amazing with delicious, beautifully presented plates. The morning breakfast was buffet style with a variety of foods to choose. Many of the staff spoke English and they were all accommodating and friendly
