The check in was rushed and no greeting when I walked in. Valet seemed bothered when I went to retrieve car. TV was not working , Chanel guide was blank so hard to watch when trying to relax at night. Gym was crowded every time I attempted to use.

The rooms were clean but the gym mats looked stained and gross. We have an electric car and there were no EV chargers on site nor did the staff know where chargers were located in the area. The bathroom was missing a shampoo bottle and lastly we paid over $700 for one night!

The hotel was right in the middle of old port, which allows you to do a lot of walking after check in! The valet is $40 per night. Hotel was exceptionally clean, great service, and a great breakfast that was well stocked and kept. A great stay!

Very nice place. Elevator was down for a day or so, but that happens. Breakfast was great. Be sure to eat at the pizza brewery near by and on the piers where the boats come in. Best seafood!

Only one major issue in my humble opinion, parking!!! $40 fee for parking, I've stayed at hotels from Maine to California and never paid for parking. If parking is a premium in the Portland downtown area, which it appears to be, $20 would be acceptable, still a problem as far as im concerned.

Clean room, recently renovated, quiet. One downside is the only parking option available through the hotel is $40 for valet; your best bet is to get a street spot, which is free from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m., then a two-hour time limit between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Great location and nice hotel. We wanted a place with a pool and one that was pet friendly and good for families. This was all that. The pool water was too cold and that was the only negative.

Mostly clean and comfortable. No fault of housekeeping there was a water stain and a bit of mold above the toilet from a leak above. And the headboard had oily spots from prior guests. Also it was a cool night and the bathroom is quite chilly. These concerns aside our stay was satisfactory.

The Inn was clean and staff very nice. All the downtown attractions were walkable, so a convenient place to stay while exploring the Old Port. The one downside was our room seemed to be on the older side with some paint chipping on the wall and the nightstand drawer being closed with masking tape.

Big sticky stains on the furniture when we arrived and “crunchy “ spots on the rug. The room was not clean. Made me wonder if I was sleeping in a clean bed. Also, shower gel dispenser was empty. I’ve stayed here 5 or 6 times over the same amount of years and this was not how it usually is. Im going to hope this was a one off bad experience.

This place was so dirty and gross. Do not stay here. We didn’t even have bedding on one of the beds and when I asked for sheets, they first gave me a towel sized blanket, then 7 pillowcases, then 2 fitted sheets. They said they had no more sheets, blankets or pillows at the hotel. The lock on the door did not work. Do not stay here.

Blood on the ceiling of our room and a bunch of spider eggs and nest. Room cleaning didn’t even visit our room the following day, just completely skipped us. Not the worst experience but far from good. Maybe the only care during the summer season…

Good location; however, it is not waterfront. There were some heavy foot on top floor. We were on the 5th floor which we thought was the highest floor but it turns out there is a residence 6th floor. Did not like the thin walls and heavy foot steps above.

We did not have tv from check in till the next full day. There was a problem with the wire from wall to tv. And when you get to a room you expect everything to be perfect. We did not notice the time on the clock. The clock was off by an hour. And because of that we missed our dinner reservation. First time I was unhappy about one of your properties.

Staff were very nice and very accommodating. We paid for the convenience of this hotel’s location. It is pretty tired and the rooms & bathrooms are showing some significant wear and tear. Hampton Inn bedding is not very nice. It’s enough to make me want to switch from Hilton to Marriott (Hampton vs courtyard - courtyard’s bedding wins every time.)

The location of this property makes shopping and dining very walkable. While the overnight parking is pricey it is competitive with the options in the area. The pool is a nice option for the kids to spend some time. The breakfast is convenient and tasty. Our biggest complaint though was the beds were not comfortable. They are in need of a refresh or replacement.

My first room stunk of cigarette smoke but they were fortunately quick tonswitch us to another room. That one was very clean and quiet. The beds were so comfortable! The staff were so friendly but there were long wait times since they were understaffed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay there again.

When we checked in Ken seemed overwhelmed. They need at least two people behind desk. He went through everything very fast. Not overly friendly. Valets also need additional help. Sometimes one person, other times 3.??? Breakfast was crowded and would have liked to see tables looking less greasy. Worst part of the trip was dishonesty in housekeeping. I left a pair of pants hanging behind bathroom door on hanger and called when I realized from the road. Supervisor very kind to call me back but said no pants were turned in. That may have been true. I questioned whether I made the mistake and they did get packed but when we arrived in Boston, they were not in my suitcase. There is only one conclusion to draw here. I had just worn them the day before. The hot wet l has all your information and could easily get them returned by mail to you but housekeeping has to be honest and should easily be able to find out who cleaned our room after we left.

The location was ideal. Staff is excellent . Hotel could use some fixing up. . Starting to age. One of the two elevators was broken most of our three day stay. Paint is peeling in places.Breakfast was typical for this type of hotel. $40 parking charge valet only was also what I’m used to. So no big surprise although $120 for our three day stay was painful. I’d stay there again because of the location and very courteous and helpful front desk staff

This Hampton Inn is conveniently located near all the action and restaurants on Commercial St. We could walk EVERYWHERE --including beautiful Casco Bay! It's our favorite hotel in Portland!

Downtown Portland is very seedy. You dont feel safe at night. The area has too many homeless roaming the streets. The area is very dark and has an unsafe feeling. No police presence... You need to look over your shoulder in the down town area. We we're very disappointed with Portland down town. To make it even worse, $40 parking fees are a rip off. This area is taking advantage of the tourist.

Great location for those on the go. It is close to the ferry, tour pickups, shopping, dining and very walkable. It was clean, front desk staff were helpful, and the free breakfast was very good - not something that can be said for a lot of hotels. Reasonably priced as well.

Valet parking is $40 way too expensive. We were able to find street parking that was way less expensive. Breakfast was included but ends at 10am sharp. People were still trying to get breakfast and they were closing the doors.

We were very pleased with the Hampton Inn Portland Waterfront. Our room on the 5th floor had a marvelous view of the harbor - we could have spent hours watching the ferries and tugs working! The room was spacious and comfortable and had sufficient linens for the 2 of us. The buffet breakfast offered a large selection of items, but some things (oatmeal, cheese omelets, and baked goods) were pretty mediocre; the waffles, scrambled eggs, and bacon were quite good. We applaud the efforts of Hilton to be ecologically responsible - but we do wish paper cutlery in the breakfast area were replaced with bamboo and foam cups in the rooms were replaced with ceramic mugs. The price for our long weekend stay was very reasonable. We will very definitely be back for another stay!

I didn't like the fact that they charge their own guests $3 for a bottle of water. I also didn't like the fact that you could never rely on someone to be available at the front desk. ALWAYS a wait in line, even if all you needed was the answer to a simple question. The free breakfast was too much oriented toward young children

We enjoyed our stay and the only issues I had was no loungers in the pool area to lay and relax and the towels for that area are brutal.They are too small for drying off.The other complaint was breakfast.The eggs and meat was great.The fruit salad was also good but I cannot have lactose or gluten.So no milk for my cereal or oatmeal and no toast or any other bread products.Most hotels I go too have oat or almond milk for people with allergies and gluen free bread.

For $404 a night you’d think their check in staff would greet you as royalty not as an inconvenience. And the free breakfast? Hard boiled eggs sitting in the sun, opened until 10 am but tried to close it down at 9:57. Just horribly disappointing.
