Good location for Excel . Modern hotel and nice rooms, will be better when surrounding building works complete . Pool is very small and I arrived during swimming lessons so very noisy . Changing rooms not great and no private shower.

The hotel was spotless but there were a few things that weren’t great. We had no hot water from the shower on one of the days during our 2 night stay, and the restaurant food was over priced and bland. The pool facilities were terrible, pool was small and no staff were monitoring. Signage stated no diving and games but there were 2 men that dived straight in the poll and then proceeded to play catch with a ball! The steam room and sauna was not working. Overall, I would say overpriced and not worth what we paid. I’ve stayed in better, and payed less.

We arrived, were charged extra to get into room early. We were told sauna and steam room as well as pool available. When we went there sauna and steam room had to be switched on by staff so you needed to notify earlier. We went for food, but was advised fryer was broken so limited options. We headed for the bar only to find it shut for that day. Went out elsewwhere, but came back to watch a movie and connect via chrome cast as the tv suggested, when it didnt work asked at reception and was told they no longer did that service.At bedtime room air con didnt work so room was at 28 degrees , we complained and they did move us. But overall for the high price tag it just wasnt goid enough.

Nice hotel, let down by some details. Charging £20 for parking is a bit much and a further £25 “which will be returned in a few days” wasn’t a great start. I get taking card details, but shouldn’t be taking money… Room was spacious and clean, but no power point by a mirror for my wife to do her hair. I went for a swim, and the first changing booth didn’t have a lock on it. Went to do a timed swim so checked the clock when I set off. Swam some lengths and checked the clock which hadn’t moved - clearly the battery had run out and not been replaced. The little things make the difference between average and good…

Close to London Excel exhibition center but the property needs maintenance, the water pressure on hot water is terrible, the towels smells bad. I have complained to the reception desk so they waived two breakfast fees.

there was broken glass in the room on the floor which we stepped on and room service took 2.5 hours. They told us we could not receive a refund because we paid by card already. It was awful. They just wanted money and the area outside is a construction zone. Never will stay there again and feel a full refund is in order. They did refund only £90 for the glass but it was shocking how bad it was.

Lovely well designed room . Comfy bed and good blinds to keep out the morning light. Good shower with lots of hot water and water pressure. All the staff seemed efficient, polite and helpful. Would definitely return if I was in the area.

Aloft is absolutely ideal for Excel. Otherwise it has many faults, especially in the bedroom design. Several issues, but main one is tiny wardrobe, meaning its ok for a single for a couple of nights. But forget a couple trying to hang shirts and suits etc. Toilet and shower design again isn't ideal for sharing or even couples.

Stylish, clean and quiet room with a large bed. Liked the room layout and utilities. Wish we could turn the light off in the tea/coffee area as this affected our sleep a bit. Internet TV and room wi-fi did not work for us.

The Aloft hotel is very convenient for the Excel centre but it’s a quite average hotel and I was expecting better given that we paid over £600 for a two night stay. The food isn’t great so we ordered via Uber eats both nights. In our room the shampoo dispenser was broken, the air conditioning was broken so the room was very warm and the tv was broken and kept turning itself off every couple of minutes. Breakfast was very average. It was just a little disappointing but it was good for the venue we were going to.

The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional and very helpful. Hats off the front desk staff dealing with lots of inquiries and the manager on duty in the afternoon 30/08/25 forgot his name was so patient and sorted all our requests promptly and professionally as it was my son’s birthday and nothing was too much for him. The rooms were very clean and breakfast so good with plenty of options and staff so helpful and cheerful. The location is excellent by the Excel and lots of things to do and it’s near the motorway. It offers plenty areas to sit and relax outside of the rooms with a convenient cafe on site where u can buy snacks which is good. It is very quiet no noisy and we slept really well. In the passage areas it well lit and some beautiful soft and relaxing music playing at the background during the day. We highly recommend and will certainly be back.

Felt like it was a bad day on the day we chose to go, we were told on arrival they had no double rooms left as they were at capacity even though a double was booked for my fiancée and I and were given a family room instead and offered free parking (a mere £20) we were informed the room was bigger which was the only difference only to accept and see that they had given us 2 very small double beds which were set on opposite sides of the room. Upon checkout there was literally a queue of complaints waiting to speak to the duty manager. Very unorganised and unprofessional for the standards of “The Marriott”

It is a very nice hotel but, they need to balance there late checkouts as I got there at 15:45 and my checkin wasn’t until 16:30 which is almost a hour in the lobby waiting. The restaurant menu was limited and even when I express that menu is limited they weren’t willing to have any flexibility as they said even though it’s dead on 10pm and that there last call I can’t have any thing from the main menu…the reception staff were great and facilities very clean and presented well

Hotel and the rooms are exceptional for London but sadly reception gave us keys that worked for a room that was already taken by someone else which in this day of age isn’t really acceptable. They were quick to offer a gesture of goodwill but these sorts of things shouldn’t really happen.

I had a wonderful stay at the Aloft London Excel this weekend while working at RuPaul's DragCon. The hotel was perfectly located for the ExCel centre with plenty of transport options nearby. I dined in the hotel on Friday evening and had a lovely meal. The staff couldn't do enough for you. I was especially thankful to the member of staff who was on reception on Friday morning for allowing me to check-in early when I asked to leave my suitcase. This was hugely appreciated. I'll look forward to staying here again in the future.

Despite trying to alter our booking to one night instead of two due to the rail strike the hotel refused to refund that one nights prepaid amount. We gave more than 3 days notice (as soon as we knew there was a train strike) and still stayed for the one night but sdrdpite expedias best efforts the hotel refused to allow the change or offer any type of refund or alternative option. In addition the restaurant was not open as promised at 5 pm and equally room service was not available at that time. This resulted in our having no food after a terrible train journey of over 4 hours and being late for our pre booked show. All in all a very poor attitude at this hotel.

The Aloft is a really nice hotel to stay at if you’re in the docklands area. There is ALOT of building work going on so it can look pretty chaotic. The building work also means that you’ll have zero views but for us, that wasn’t an issue. The staff are all really helpful, the rooms and areas in the hotel are spotless. On the whole, I would highly recommend the hotel.

Room was comfortable but sadly there was building work opposite from 0800 every day (Mon -Thu) which also impacted our safer walk to other side of Excel meaning we had to walk on road.

Great location for the ExCel and getting to the city. Hotel staff are very excellent, really great service. Hotel comfortable, evening menu is good. Breakfast menu is reasonable. Gym is spacious, equipment is pretty good for a hotel. Pool and spa a bonus. A good stay and would definitely boom again.

The hotel itself was brilliant. Was going to the o2 for the weekend and the hotel was only short distance from the tube. Everything was great, rooms are decent. All great, until the breakfast after checkout. Was like the staff was worried we were going to run off without paying. The actual breakfast was poor. Was expensive and not a lot of choice. The staff kept coming over asking about method of payments whilst eating our breakfast. And as soon I had finished my last bite,(not an exaggeration)she had come over with the card reader and the bill. Hadn’t even had time to start my coffee and didn’t bother in the end. Made us both feel incredibly uncomfortable. The lady herself seemed nice enough, seemed more of a training issue.

Staff were friendly and the room was clean but the pool was not in working order for half the trip and then when it was it became apparent it was an unheated pool (unadvertised) so not suitable for kids. Also the restaurant has a limited vegan menu
